Jane's Team come up short of predictions, lose to PackerBacker in 129.18-94.58 rout
Jane's Team failed to rise to the occasion, falling short of projections, as PackerBacker rolled to a 129.18-94.58 victory. PackerBacker grabbed an early 23.10-point lead on Thursday. Jane's Team came back to take the lead early Sunday, powered by Christian McCaffrey (33.5 points) and Joe Mixon (17.1). Unphased, PackerBacker made a run later that afternoon, as Todd Gurley II (19.3 points) and Baker Mayfield (17.98) put them back in the lead for good. This marks the first time this season PackerBacker have knocked off Jane's Team, after falling 116.72-111.86 in their last matchup. PackerBacker will look to clinch the league title next week, while Jane's Team seek to bounce back and finish the season with a win in the 3rd Place game.
While running for 76 yards and a touchdown against the Jets, Ingram II put up 23.1 points this week. His scoring output nearly doubled his 11.92-point projection and was much higher than his 14.23-point season scoring average. Ingram II ranks #27 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Browns next week.
Sunday Early
There were players with big-time plays on both teams early Sunday, but it was Jane's Team who owned the lead, 67.10-46.00. For PackerBacker, Joey Slye had a 52-yard field goal. Chris Godwin made the highlight reel for Jane's Team with a 51-yard catch.
Sunday Late
Dak Prescott had a 59-yard touchdown pass for Jane's Team, who trailed 98.38-87.68 after the late round of games.
PackerBacker
Football is all about taking advantage of the mismatches. Thanks to stellar performances by Michael Thomas and DeAndre Hopkins, our squad really took that to heart this past week. We doubled up Jane's Team at wide receiver (39.7 points to 16.5). Thomas had 128 receiving yards while Hopkins chipped in with 119 yards.
Jane's Team
Listen, Jane's Team, I've been in this industry long enough to realize that sometimes points just seem to magically appear out of nowhere. Then in some cases (like this week) they don't! Okay, okay... asking for an extra 35 points may be a bit excessive.
