Commish Notes

  • Hello everyone! Welcome back for Da League 12. First and foremost, I would like to introduce our two new members to the league, Aaron and Tal. These fantasy youngsters will be a huge boost to the league and I’m excited to see how they face the challenges and intricacies that Da League dawns on us all. Unfortunately, some managers cannot handle Da League as well as others. Therefore, this year I am starting the warning system in Da League. If a manager is not setting their lineup, making their steals, or is seemingly just disengaged from Da League, they will be put on a first warning the following year. If that behavior continues during the first warning year, the manager will be put on final warning the year after. If that behavior continues during the final warning year, the manager will be removed from Da League and replaced with a hungry manager from the ever-growing waiting list that has been accumulated. If a manager that is on first or final warning makes a good showing, the Commissioner will decide what (if any) warning that manager should be on the following year. The decision to put managers on warning or replace any manager is at the Commissioner’s sole discretion.
This year Jonezin and The Money Team will be on their final warnings and Sprint Jamie Foxx will be on its first warning.
Although, this is my first year implementing the warning rule, I did privately tell Jonezin and The Money Team that they were on warning last year and so this is outcome of said conversation. It’s easy to avoid this fate if you stick to playing fantasy and continue to make this a league that we all love and enjoy.

As usual, I shall get into the depths of what Da League really is.
This is Da League. Da League is special because it takes an extremely masterful manager to pull off a win in this league. This league uses enormous rosters and almost all NFL players that see time on the field are rostered. Therefore, in Da league, we make roster moves using steals. When one team beats another team in a matchup in any given week, the winning manager is permitted to steal one player from the losing manager's team. The player can be any player that was rostered by the losing team during the week in which the matchup took place. In order to successfully steal a player, the winning manager must post a message on the league's message board indicating which player they would like to steal and which team they are stealing the player from. ADDITIONALLY, the team that wishes to steal a player must have an empty roster spot so that the Commissioner can use commish tools to place the stolen player on the roster. If the stealing team does not have an empty roster spot, the steal will not be pushed through and the winning manager will lose stealing privileges for that matchup.
For this season, the steal deadline will remain at 11:00 Eastern time on the Tuesday night of each week.
The steal deadline is the time by which each stealing manager must have posted their steal on the league's message board. If this deadline is missed, a manager's steal will not be pushed through and their stealing privilege will be lost for that matchup. Again, the steal deadline for this year will be 11:00 Eastern time each Tuesday night. This will give managers opportunities to put their waivers in for Wednesday morning based on what players have been stolen from them.
All steals and an empty roster spot must be submitted no later than 11:00 eastern time each Tuesday for your steal to be successful.
Because we have new members, I will briefly harp on our newest changes, although they aren’t really new anymore.
    1. Waivers work in a reverse standings waiver order and get updated each week based on how the standings update. Last place will always have first waiver for each new waiver cycle following the completion of a week of matchups, and so on all the way up to the top of the standings who will have last waiver. Note: After initial waivers are used following Wednesday morning waiver claim, waivers will proceed in regular order until the next week is completed and then it will revert back to reverse standings order.
    2. There is no trade deadline and almost no trade will be vetoed. Trades in this league are imperative to a team's success. Team's may make seemingly unbalanced trades with ulterior motives and that is fine. There is more that goes into this league because of the stealing aspect. Therefore, as Commissioner, I will allow almost any trade to be pushed through without questioning the trade and without needing an explanation. I do reserve the right to veto a trade that I believe is beyond the competitive scope of fairness in this league. I doubt this will ever need to happen. Additionally, trades that are agreed to on Tuesday's will not be pushed through until Wednesday after the waivers and steals have been processed. I also want to point out that if managers agree to trades in which they are trading their players only for a week or two weeks
