Thunderstorm fall short of predictions, succumb to Warriors of Angels in 142-84 rout

There's no sugarcoating it, Thunderstorm underdelivered, at least compared to projections, as Warriors of Angels cruised to a 142-84 win. Warriors of Angels pulled out to a 3-point lead on Thursday behind the Jacksonville Jaguars defense and never gave it back. Philip Rivers (24 points) and the Chicago Bears defense (16) did everything they could for Thunderstorm in the loss. This marks the second time this season Warriors of Angels have gotten the best of Thunderstorm, after winning 187-145 in their last matchup. Warriors of Angels will look to not lose that winning feeling in next week's semifinal round, while Thunderstorm attempt to rebound and lock up 5th Place.

Coach Talk

Warriors of Angels
Hey, finding mismatches is the key to football, right? With solid performances by Christian McCaffrey and Joe Mixon, our team definitely made that a point of emphasis this past week. We tripled Thunderstorm up at the running back spot (51 points to 16). McCaffrey had 101 total yards and two TDs, while Mixon logged 138 yards.
Thunderstorm
Unless Thunderstorm wants to go diva-mode on us, then "not seeing many opportunities" is definitely not an excuse this week. As a group, our four pass-catchers (two WR and two TE) collectively got a grand total of 20 targets in Week 14. With only 11 total catches, this group may be showing signs of chemistry issues.
