BringThePain brush off expectations, knock off Texas Cubbie, 120-59
BringThePain brought their A game, securing a 120-59 victory over Texas Cubbie, who fell short of projections. Texas Cubbie nabbed a 6-point lead on Thursday, but BringThePain held the lead the rest of the way. They were led by Tyreek Hill (10 Rec, 215 Rec Yds, 2 Rec TDs) and Matt Bryant (4-4 FG, 53 long, 1-1 XP). Ben Roethlisberger (30 points) and Greg Zuerlein (11) carried the flag for Texas Cubbie in the loss. This marks the first time this season BringThePain have knocked off Texas Cubbie, after falling 125-108 in their last matchup. BringThePain (2-9) will look to keep it rolling against NoDirtyLandry, while Texas Cubbie (4-7) face Adam's Team in an effort to get back in the win column.
Hill overachieved for the sixth time this season, scoring 48 points against his 11.51-point projection. During a 54-51 loss to the Rams, he caught 10 passes for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hill ranks #11 among all fantasy players this season and will face the Raiders next week.
Sunday Early
There were players with big-time plays on both teams early Sunday, but it was BringThePain who emerged with the lead, 57-42. Matt Bryant had a 53-yard field goal for BringThePain, while Odell Beckham Jr. had a 41-yard catch. Ben Roethlisberger made the highlight reel for Texas Cubbie with a 78-yard touchdown pass.
Monday
Tyreek Hill had a 25-yard touchdown catch for BringThePain on Monday night, helping to add to the margin of victory for the team.
BringThePain
Hey, we'll definitely take the win, BringThePain! Having said that, if we want to ramp our performance up to the next level, then here's one area where we can improve. Our quarterback was significantly outclassed by the opposition. Ben Roethlisberger went 27-of-47 for 314 yards and two touchdowns for Texas Cubbie, and all Matthew Stafford could manage was a 23-for-37 outing, with 220 yards and one passing TD. Let's spend some extra time this week working with our receivers!
Texas Cubbie
It's entirely possible that Texas Cubbie might be a better GM in real football than in fantasy. Seeing just 14 targets combined in Week 11, their four starting pass-catchers (three WR, one TE) apparently contributed primarily by blocking downfield and running decoy routes.
