Ben's Besties are no team of destiny, but they could potentially reach the playoffs assuming things go their way. After picking No. 12 overall, the team is predicted to land in 8th place in Hiawatha Elite League. On the bright side, the team is particularly talented at receiver, as Odell Beckham Jr. and Julio Jones are expected to combine for the highest point total of all starting WR groups in the league. Ben's Besties are in store for a mark of 5-8 (1,486 points) with the current roster.

  • Devontae Booker

Best Pick: Ben's Besties netted a outstanding late-round bargain in picking Booker in the 14th round, about three rounds later than his ADP of 127. After a season in which he ran for 299 yards and 1 TD and hauled in 30 balls for 275 yards in 13 games, totaling 83 fantasy points, Booker is projected to score 89 fantasy points with the Broncos. That makes him a valuable No. 4 RB for this squad.

  • Chris Thompson

Reach Pick: It seems everyone thinks they're the next Andy Behrens these days, so there's no telling who led you to draft Thompson with the 1st pick of the 8th round, about 27 spots earlier than his ADP of 112. Projected to score 145 fantasy points this season with the Redskins, he will need to outperform expectations to improve upon last year when he rushed for 294 yards and 2 TDs and hauled in 39 passes for 510 yards and 4 TDs in 10 games, earning 161 fantasy points. Thompson will slot in as the No. 2 RB for Ben's Besties, based on projections.

Draft Notes

  • Ben's Besties face a difficult challenge in Week 8 when they have three players on a bye (Dak Prescott, Julio Jones, and Allen Hurns). Fortunately, your Week 8 opponent, Liams Dream Team ;), will be facing a similar quandary with two players (Matt Bryant and Tevin Coleman) on a bye.

  • Ben's Besties have one of the toughest schedules in Hiawatha Elite League this season based on projections with a strength of schedule that ranks as the 3rd-most difficult. All is not lost, though. Strength of schedule is just a number. Fantasy football rewards players who put in the work, so make sure to monitor each week's injuries and their repercussions.

  • Ben's Besties seem to be balancing both youth and experience, compiling a squad with an average of 5.4 years of NFL experience, ranking in the middle of the pack for the league. To emphasize that moderation, they didn't pick any of the 13 rookies drafted.

  • Even with openings at QB and RB in the 5th round, Ben's Besties chose WR Josh Gordon at No. 60, filling the WR/RB flex position rather than a position of higher need.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
