Matt's Team was handed a solid draft position, and they dropped the ball. Even though they had the No. 3 overall pick, they're projected to finish 12th in Hiawatha Elite League. Matt's Team is looking at a final record of 3-10 (1,388 points).

  • Alshon Jeffery

Biggest Steal: What a outstanding early-round bargain for Matt's Team, which picked up Jeffery with the 10th pick of the 6th round, about 22 slots later than his ADP of 48. Coming off a season in which he snagged 57 passes for 789 yards and 9 TDs, totaling 239 fantasy points, Jeffery is projected to score 162 fantasy points with the Eagles. That makes him a valuable No. 1 WR for this squad.

  • Isaiah Crowell

Stretch Pick: We'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you took the dog out right before selecting Crowell at No. 94, about 19 spots earlier than his ADP of 113. Granted, perhaps you're onto something? Projected to score 130 fantasy points this season with the Jets, he appears poised to take a step forward from last year when he ran for 853 yards and 2 TDs and had 28 catches for 182 yards, earning 122 fantasy points. Crowell will slot in as the No. 3 RB for Matt's Team, according to projections.

Draft Notes

  • Matt's Team faces a tough task in Week 11 when they have three players on a bye (Jarvis Landry, Isaiah Crowell, and Julian Edelman). Perhaps leveling the playing field, your Week 11 opponent -- Kirk's cousin -- will also be tackling their worst bye week with four players getting the week off.

  • For the second half of the season, Matt's Team has one of the toughest schedules in Hiawatha Elite League according to projections with a late-season strength of schedule rated as the 2nd-most difficult. In spite of that, for the full season, Matt's Team should expect a pretty fair schedule that ranks as the 5th hardest.

  • Whatever the plan going into the draft, it surely didn't involve putting together such a limited group of stars. As a group, the top players from each position on Matt's Team are slated to tally the lowest point total in the league. And the rest of the roster isn't any prettier, as those players are expected to combine for a point total that would rank in the middle of the pack.

  • Even with an unfilled slot at TE in the 6th round, Matt's Team selected WR Alshon Jeffery with the 70th pick, filling the WR/RB flex position at the expense of a position of higher need. The team was the second-to-last squad to make their first flex pick.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
