Just like the Chargers Ryan Leaf selection, the GM of Topher's Team made some troubling decisions with their top draft slot. They're projected to finish 12th in Hiawatha Elite League with a record of 2-11-0 (1,336). It seems Topher's Team might care more about having depth at RB than having those RBs actually produce. Their six RBs are projected to average 96 points this season, which is less than the league average of 134. They also built the worst group of RBs in the league, as they added Jeremy Hill, Chris Ivory, Charles Sims, and Bilal Powell to their roster.

Whether by good fortune or well-planned strategy, Topher's Team has secured a favorable bye week schedule for their superstars. Of their top five players in projected points, none share a common off week. Based on their opponents' projected points, they have the most difficult slate. Along with having the most grueling overall schedule, Topher's Team also has the most difficult last four games of the season.

Draft Notes

  • Decent Idea, Mediocre Execution

Topher's Team will need an assist from the waiver wire in Week 9, as their only TE (Rob Gronkowski), only K (Chandler Catanzaro), and only DEF (Houston) will all be on bye that week.

  • Highlight Reel

Topher's Team is loaded at TE, but WR isn't too shabby, either.

  • My One and Only

Ignoring roster depth, Topher's Team chose only one player at three different positions (TE, DEF, and K).

  • A Low Floor, but a High Ceiling?

Topher's Team grabbed a sleeper in Dak Prescott with pick No. 151.

  • A Versatile Combination

Charles Sims can hurt opponents with his hands as well as his feet. He ranks fourth among RBs with 534 projected receiving yards.

  • Insider Trading?

Spencer Ware is owned in only 3% of all Yahoo! leagues. Let's hope that a.) Topher's Team has some solid insider sources, or b.) he's a close friend of the family.

Player Analysis

    • Rob Gronkowski, TE
    • Round 1, Pick 7
A Threat in the Modern Age, Similar to "Beliebers"

TE is the new secret weapon in the NFL, and Rob Gronkowski leads the way with 171 projected fantasy points.

    • Keenan Allen, WR
    • Round 2, Pick 18
    Maybe Allen Will Surprise

Despite being an above-average player at his position, Keenan Allen was the weakest value pick of the round.

    • Jeremy Hill, RB
    • Round 3, Pick 31
    Wait For It

Topher's Team held off on drafting a RB early, waiting until the third round to snag their "lead back" (Jeremy Hill).

    • Jarvis Landry, WR
    • Round 4, Pick 42
    Late Bloom for Landry

Topher's Team may be sensing some WR1 potential in Landry, who was one of three players (along with Julio Jones and Antonio Brown) to see double-digit targets in each of the final four weeks of 2015.

    • Chris Ivory, RB
    • Round 5, Pick 55
    Let Me Check it Again

Why can't I find Chris Ivory on my draft cheat sheet? Oh wait, here he is under "mid-to-late-round flier."

Best Available

While Topher's Team is projected to have four subpar positions, RB is clearly their worst unit and should be upgraded first.

    • Dion Lewis
    • Rank 166, ADP 93
    • Karlos Williams
    • Rank 168, ADP 116
    • Jordan Howard
    • Rank 178, ADP 128
    • Darren McFadden
    • Rank 185, ADP 116

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
