Sesquipetantic Squad isn't the best team in the league, but they aren't the worst, and there is something to be said for that. After selecting fourth overall, they are projected to finish in eighth in Hiawatha Elite League at 5-7-1 (1,382 points). With four RBs on the roster, Sesquipetantic Squad clearly has an eye for running back talent. Their RBs are projected to average 165 points this season, which is higher than the league average of 129. They ended up with the lowest-scoring group of WRs in the league, as they added Andre Johnson, Michael Floyd, Charles Johnson, and Terrance Williams.

Sesquipetantic Squad should use Week 9 to consider life's great mysteries, like why Greenland is ice and Iceland is green. It would be better than checking fantasy football that week. They have five players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Looking at the entire season, they have a weaker-than-average slate. In addition to having the sixth-easiest overall schedule, Sesquipetantic Squad also has the easiest first four games of the season.

Draft Notes

  • Strength in Numbers

In order, the three best positions for Sesquipetantic Squad are RB, TE, and K.

  • Close to the Vest

Sesquipetantic Squad was focused on a squad with minimal volatility, grabbing six "low-risk" players out of 15 picks.

  • Officially Mediocre

While the bottom half of the Sesquipetantic Squad roster is one of the strongest in the league (projected to be No. 1), the top of the roster is among the weakest (ranked No. 9).

  • Big D

Sesquipetantic Squad elected to go with two DEFs instead of loading up at other spots.

  • A Dominating Duo

Sesquipetantic Squad has a pair of fantasy MVPs in their lineup. Last season, two of their players (Le'Veon Bell and Justin Forsett) finished among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy teams.

  • It's How You Finish

Sesquipetantic Squad must have had a motivational halftime speech, accumulating the most projected points in the league over the second half of the draft.

Player Analysis

    • Le'Veon Bell, RB
    • Round 1, Pick 4
Week 4 Can't Arrive Soon Enough

Across all Yahoo! leagues, no other Running Back appeared more often on first-place rosters than Le'Veon Bell last season.

    • Jimmy Graham, TE
    • Round 2, Pick 21
    Delivering Nightmares

    • C. Johnson, WR
    • Round 5, Pick 52
    A Bit of a Reach

Sesquipetantic Squad went out on a limb with their fifth-round pick. Across all Yahoo! leagues, Charles Johnson has an ADP of 108.4, but he was grabbed at pick No. 52. Patience is a virtue, Sesquipetantic Squad.

    • Tony Romo, QB
    • Round 7, Pick 76
    Biggest Steal

If other Yahoo! users are right, Sesquipetantic Squad got a steal in the seventh round, when they selected Tony Romo (76th overall pick vs. ADP of 54.4).

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
