Chobani Champions proved on draft day that when the lights come on, they perform, building a strong team capable of beating anyone on the schedule. They are expected to finish third in Hiawatha Elite League with a record of 9-4-0 (1,182 points). With their first five picks, Chobani Champions aimed for balance, selecting QB Matt Ryan (28th overall), RBs Matt Forte (4th) and Frank Gore (45th), and WRs Brandon Marshall (21st) and Roddy White (52nd). They landed the best group of RBs in the league, as they added Forte, Gore, Rashad Jennings, and Danny Woodhead to their roster.

Chobani Champions can chalk up Week 9 as a big fat L. They have four players and the most projected fantasy points on bye that week. Looking at the entire season, they have one of the least difficult slates. Along with the second-easiest overall schedule, both the first four games and last four games of the season are pretty average for Chobani Champions.

Draft Notes

  • Shouldering the Burden?

Chobani Champions has three above-average positions on their roster: TE, WR, and RB.

  • Potent Potential

Tre Mason and Andrew Hawkins are a couple of late-round fliers with nice upside for Chobani Champions.

  • No Back-Up No Cry

Ignoring roster depth, Chobani Champions chose only one player at three different positions (TE, DEF, and K).

  • Bargain Shopper

With four steals in the first 9 rounds (including Jordan Cameron, Mike Wallace, and Roddy White), Chobani Champions made some shrewd moves.

  • Chobani Champions Went All YOLO Here

Grabbing Tre Mason at pick 165 was just a bit of a stretch. Mason is owned on only a few rosters across all Yahoo! leagues.

Player Analysis

    • Matt Forte, RB
    • Round 1, Pick 4
    Does Matt Forte Enjoy Fajitas?

Because his all-purpose yardage figures are sizzling. Forte is projected to rank fourth in the league with 1,698 total yards.

    • B. Marshall, WR
    • Round 2, Pick 21
    The Power of Persuasion

Now would be a reasonable time for Chobani Champions to encourage the Hiawatha Elite League to raise the value of receptions. They snagged Brandon Marshall and his 93 projected catches (ranked fifth in the NFL).

    • Matt Ryan, QB
    • Round 3, Pick 28
Do You Know if Matt Ryan is Religious?

With 304 projected points, Chobani Champions is hoping Ryan will be the answer to their prayers.

    • Frank Gore, RB
    • Round 4, Pick 45
    Throwing Caution to the Wind

They grabbed Frank Gore with the 45th pick, even though his ADP is only 68.4 across all Yahoo! leagues.

    • R. Jennings, RB
    • Round 6, Pick 69
Was the 69th Pick the Right Time for Rashad Jennings?

Chobani Champions apparently believes it is. The Giants' running back is projected to earn 159 points this year, after putting up 138 last year.

Best Available

With three below-average positions on Chobani Champions, DEF and QB are projected as especially weak units that should be upgraded first.

    • Indianapolis Defanse
    • Rank 225, ADP 144
    • Josh McCown

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent. As a wise man once said, "On any given Sunday..."
