2012 Fantasy Football league rules:
After a successful 2011 season (at least for me!), we’re not tweaking too much for 2012. Below are the dates, rules and guidelines we’re going to go by.
Dates:
July 31st: $50 fee due
August 17th: Keeper lists finalized
August 25th: Draft day
November 16th: Trading deadline
Fee: $50 per team per year
Teams: 12 teams - 3 divisions of 4 teams
Schedule:
14 week regular season
Play each team in your division twice, play all 8 other teams once
Playoffs:
Weeks 15-17
3 division winners make the playoffs, next 3 best records make the playoffs
Teams 7-12 make the losers bracket
Losers bracket competes for draft spots - losers bracket winner = 1st draft pick next year
Seeds are by record - ties broken by head to head, then total points for season
Prize money:
Regular Season Champion - $165 (to be split if tied)
Playoffs 1st - $215
Playoffs 2nd - $115
Playoffs 3rd - $65
Trophy fund - $40
Draft:
Draft day this year: August 28th (may be the 29th if enough people convince)
On-line draft (can set up computerized list if needed)
Time: ~2 or 3pm
18 rounds - no limits on positions, etc
Trades on draft day including trading picks are allowed.
Draft order:
As determined by last year's playoffs
1st pick - Jason (Losers bracket winner)
2nd pick - Ryan (Losers bracket 2nd place)
3rd pick - Jose (Losers bracket 3rd place)
4th pick - Jared (Losers bracket 4th place)
5th pick - Bruce (Losers bracket 5th place)
6th pick - Craig (Losers bracket 6th place)
7th pick - Roy (5th place)
8th pick - Brett (6th place)
9th pick - Edward (4th place)
10th pick - Roland (3rd place)
11th pick - Ben (Runner-up)
12th pick - Robin (Champion)
This is the draft order for EVERY round (no snake draft)
Trades from last year do effect the draft order (though no one traded first round picks)
Scoring:
Traditional yahoo standard scoring
No fractional scoring
Rosters:
Maximum of 18 players per team (allowed to carry more than 18 from draft to one week after draft if you traded for more draft picks than you have spots)
Positions: QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, K, DEF
No IR spots on team
Keepers:
Each team is allowed to keep up to 6 players per year
No one may keep the player they selected in the first round the previous year
Each player kept is slotted into your draft pick one round higher than their draft position the previous year
EXAMPLE: I drafted Frank Gore in the 5th round in 2010. If I keep Gore, I lose my 4th round pick in 2011. If I keep him again for the next season, I lose my 3rd round pick in 2012.
If you keep an undrafted player, then you lose your 15th round pick.
If you keep a player who was drafted in a round you do not have a pick, you lose a pick from the next highest round.
