Peyton Manning (Ind - QB)

Feb 8 - QB Peyton Manning completed 31-of-45 passes for 333 yards, one touchdown and had an interception returned for a touchdown. By surpassing 169 yards passing in Super Bowl XLIV, Manning joined Brett Favre (5,855) and Joe Montana (5,772) as the only quarterbacks to have passes for more than 5,000 postseason passing yards. He now has 5,164 career passing yards.

Recommendation: His fourth quarter interception, which was taken to the house by the Saints' Tracey Porter, essentially sealed the game's outcome. It was an unfortunate end to another outstanding season for Manning, who remains one of the league's most durable and talented players. He'll once again be one of the top QBs off the board in fantasy drafts come 2010.

Feb 8 - One bad pass by Manning hasn't cost the Indianapolis Colts any cachet. Manning and the Colts are favored to win next year's Super Bowl, according to odds released Monday by BetUS.com.
Advice: Indianapolis is a 7-1 favorite to take home the NFL championship, followed by the Chargers (8-1), Saints (9-1) and the Patriots (10-1).

Feb 8 - Manning completed 31 of 45 passes for 333 yards, one TD and one INT in a 31-17 loss to the Saints in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Tracy Porter intercepted a Manning pass and returned it 74 yards for a clinching score.
Advice: Manning's career record in Super Bowls dropped to 1-1. "It's certainly disappointing. Very disappointed. Disappointed," Manning said. The 33-year-old Manning was MVP of the Colts' victory in the Super Bowl on the very same field three years ago, and was a good bet to win the trophy once more. Instead, the night finished the same way his final college game at Tennessee ended _ a bruising loss to Nebraska, also on this field.

Feb 4 - Here's what the Saints need to answer Sunday in the Super Bowl against the Colts: Is Manning really changing the play, or just bluffing? Manning sure looks like he's calling an audible. He gets between center Jeff Saturday and right guard Kyle DeVan. He points once, twice, three times with his right arm at a defender.
Advice: Manning often improvises. Exactly how much, no one says. "Somebody has to show me they can stop 18," says Pro Bowl linebacker DeMeco Ryans of the Houston Texas, who predicts the Colts will zip past the Saints. "I don't think it can be done."

LaDainian Tomlinson (SD - RB)

Feb 5 - RB LaDainian Tomlinson told the San Diego Union-Tribune that he believes he has played his final game for San Diego. Tomlinson is due a $2 million roster bonus March 5 and a 2010 salary of $5 million, and said he expects to be released.

Feb 4 - Tomlinson told the San Diego Union-Tribune that he won't return to the Chargers in 2010.

Recommendation: "I'm not coming back," Tomlinson said. "I don't believe I’ll be back in San Diego. I've accepted it." He's due a $2 million roster bonus on March 5, so look for the Chargers to release him at some point before that kicks in.

Feb 4 - Tomlinson says he believes he has played his last game as a San Diego Charger.
Advice: The running back told The San Diego Union-Tribune on Thursday that he has thought for a while he would be let go by the Chargers. His comments come after more than a month of saying he did not know what would happen. Tomlinson tells the newspaper he doesn't know when the Chargers will release him and that his agent, Tom Condon, might call the club to expedite the process. The NFL's most valuable player in 2006 has two years remaining on his contract.
