    • Tank Dell running routes after gunshot wound
Texans WR Tank Dell is running routes again after sustaining gunshot wound in April.

Advice: Dell’s trainer, Delfonte Diamond, posted a video to X showing the second-year wide receiver running routes and performing drills at the University of Houston indoor training facility Saturday. The fact that Dell, who is also recovering from a fractured fibula, is running and going through drills is a good indication that he will be ready for the start of the 2024 season. • Engages in workout Saturday
Dell (leg) ran and performed drills Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Advice: Dell is recovering from what has been described as a "clean flesh wound" to his left leg sustained as an innocent bystander in a shooting in Florida in late April. The wideout's workout Saturday suggests that he's progressing well and confirms previous reports that the wound was minor. Given his activity Saturday, there appears to be a chance that Dell will participate in the Texans' OTAs, which begin Monday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 1:47 pm

    • Cousins on tampering: ‘Not a whole lot there’
When asked about the league’s investigation into the Falcons violating the league’s tampering policy, Kirk Cousins said, “There’s not a whole lot there.”

Advice: It was Cousins’ answers at his introductory press conference that more or less spurred the investigation, as the veteran quarterback suggested on numerous occasions that he had impermissible contact with several members of the organization prior to the start of the new league year. He also said he played a role in recruiting Darnell Mooney by calling him prior to the official start of free agency. The league’s investigation is still ongoing, but the Falcons run the risk of losing draft picks if any violations are found. It’s hard to imagine the league lacking evidence of tampering, given how plainly Cousins laid out everything, but whether or not what they have is considered severe enough to warrant disciplinary actions won’t be known until the conclusion of the investigation. • Waived by KC
Perine was waived by the Chiefs on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Advice: Kansas City is parting ways with Perine after he rushed for 77 yards on 22 carries while adding three catches for 33 yards in 2023. The 2020 fourth-round draft pick of the Jets spent his first two seasons in New York. Perine will look to latch on with another team prior to training camp. Rotowire.com Friday, 5:23 pm

    • Chiefs part ways with RB La’Mical Perine
      Chiefs released RB La’Mical Perine.

Advice: Perine appeared in three games for the Chiefs last season and drew the start in a meaningless Week 18 game, where he totaled 109 yards from scrimmage against the Chargers. It was the most run Perine had seen since 2020, and he failed to take a regular season snap in 2022. The former fourth-round pick will be 26 at the start of this season and has a career rushing line of 94-340-2. He could earn another chance to compete for a job this offseason, but he’s unlikely to offer much fantasy upside regardless of landing spot. Rotoworld Friday, 2:48 pm

    • No timetable for return
Hockenson (knee) said "they haven't really put a timeline on it" when asked Wednesday about a potential date for his in-season return to action, Grant Gordon of NFL.com reports.

Advice: Hockenson was specifically asked on the NFL Schedule Release '24 show whether he expects to be playing Week 5 versus the Jets in London. The standout tight end said of his recovery from a right ACL and MCL tear he's "kinda taking it day by day, week by week," and that "the progression has been incredible" even though a specific return timetable remains uncertain. Hockenson underwent surgery late January and doesn't seem likely to be ready for Week 1, but Week 5 could be within the realm of possibility. The Vikings have a Week 6 bye, however, so it's possible that a more realistic target for Hockenson's debut could be Week 7 and beyond. Rotowire.com Friday, 2:35 pm

    • No timeline for T.J. Hockenson’s (knee) return
T.J. Hockenson (knee) said he hasn’t “really put a timeline” on his return from last year’s season-ending knee injury.

Advice: Hockenson suffered a torn ACL and MCL in last year’s Week 16 loss to the Lions. The veteran tight end said he and the team are “taking it day by day, week by week” and noted that there are “so many variables” that one can go through during the rehab process. Hockenson also added he’s “doing really good right now,” which is an encouraging sign for the Vikings and fantasy managers. Still, the late timing of his injury could result in him missing time early in the season as he continues his recovery. The Vikings have Josh Oliver and Johnny Mundt both on the roster and also signed Robert Tonyan to a contract earlier this week. If they don’t feel like Hockenson is ready to go, they have the players in place to wait out his recovery should it continue into the regular season. Rotoworld Friday, 11:24 am

    • Dropping weight for contract season
Harris' trainer said Friday the running back has dropped to around 235 pounds this offseason after playing at 242 during the 2023 season, and that he's increasingly motivated after the Steelers declined his fifth-year option, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

Advice: Harris is heading into the final season of his rookie deal with Pittsburgh, so there's no doubt about his motivation to log a productive year and earn sizeable payday for 2025. Playing at a lower weight could help Harris' efficiency metrics, and there's also some reason to be optimistic that he now finds himself in a better scenario than 2023, when he set new career-high marks with eight rushing touchdowns and 4.1 YPC. Rookie first-round pick Troy Fautanu should represent an upgrade to the O-line, and while there are question marks surrounding Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, both have the potential to command a more effective offense than Kenny Pickett did. Harris is capable of handling 20-plus touches but also dependent on volume to produce, making the emergence of Jaylen Warren the biggest threat to his fantasy prospects. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:12 am

    • Has skipped some offseason work
Tagovailoa has reportedly missed most of Miami's team activities this offseason while negotiations on a potential contract extension continue, Alain Poupart of SI.com reports.

Advice: Coach Mike McDaniel and GM Chris Grier have both vocally supported the idea of Tagovailoa remaining with the Dolphins on a long-term basis and an extension being penned this offseason; however, it sounds like until that's official, the team may not have the quarterback's full participation. That said, Tagovailoa was confirmedly a participant in part of Miami's offseason workouts back in April, with Poupart noting the team released videos of him throwing on multiple different days. There are no signs Tagovailoa would consider skipping June's mandatory minicamp, and the quarterback has downplayed concerns about contract negotiations. As things currently stand, Tagovailoa is set to play out the 2024 season under the fifth-year option on his rookie contract. Rotowire.com Friday, 7:01 am
