I give up!! Draft Report Card

After Some Early Gambles, where are we playin Looks Like Cellar Dweller

Draft Summary

Is someone going to put out that dumpster fire? Oh, whoops, that's not a dumpster fire that's the where are we playin roster. Easy mistake with a team that needs this much work. As the roster stands, where are we playin is projected to finish sixth in Dominance League with a record of 5-9-0 (1,428 points). With their first five picks, where are we playin aimed for balance, selecting QB Russell Wilson (36th overall), RBs Jeremy Hill (20th) and Justin Forsett (29th), and WRs Dez Bryant (4th) and DeSean Jackson (13th). They landed the bottom group of RBs in the league, as they have Hill, Forsett, Arian Foster, and Darren McFadden on their roster.

While Week 6 has the most players on bye for where are we playin (four), Week 9 is actually projected to have the team's highest number of idle fantasy points. Looking at the season as a whole, they have a more-challenging-than-average schedule. Along with having the third-most grueling overall schedule, where are we playin has the second-most difficult last four games of the season.

Draft Notes

  • Close to the Vest

where are we playin was focused on a squad with minimal risk, grabbing six "low-risk" players out of 13 picks.

  • My One and Only

Ignoring roster depth, where are we playin chose only one player at four different positions (QB, TE, DEF, and K).

  • Starting Slowly

where are we playin got off to a sluggish start, winding up with the fewest projected points in the league during the first half of the draft.

  • A Pair of Proven Winners

where are we playin has a couple of fantasy MVPs in their lineup. Last season, two of their players (Justin Forsett and Arian Foster) finished among the top-20 players that were on the most first-place fantasy teams.

  • Mr. Irrelevant

In terms of projected points, the choice of Marques Colston with the 100th pick gave where are we playin the worst pick of the final round. This Mr. Irrelevant gets no parade, unfortunately.

Player Analysis

    • Dez Bryant, WR
    • Round 1, Pick 4
Possession is Nine-Tenths of the Law

Dez Bryant is expected to be a strong possession receiver this year, and his 87 projected catches rank ninth in the league.

    • Jeremy Hill, RB
    • Round 3, Pick 20
    If it Ain't Broke

Then do fix it? Laughing in the face of decades of fantasy tradition, where are we playin didn't grab their first RB (Jeremy Hill) until the third round.

    • Russell Wilson, QB
    • Round 5, Pick 36
    Knowing When to Take Off

He won't get too flashy in the passing game, but the ability to create with his legs makes Wilson a legitimate threat to NFL defenses -- and to future fantasy opponents of where are we playin.

    • Pittsburgh, DEF
    • Round 6, Pick 45
Don't Get Too Defensive Over This

But where are we playin drafted Pittsburgh with the 45th pick, even though their ADP is only 117.7 across all Yahoo! leagues.

    • Jason Witten, TE
    • Round 7, Pick 52
    A Big, Strong Threat

Jason Witten ranks fifth in the Dominance League among TEs with 110 projected fantasy points. If the pundits are wrong and he places outside the top-10, where are we playin could be on the outside looking in come playoff time.

How We Grade

Draft grades are based strictly on teams' draft performances. This is calculated by counting the number of fantasy points teams are projected to score over the course of the season using their optimal line-ups. The grades do not take schedule into account. Because of bye weeks and other variables it is possible to earn a high grade yet be projected to finish in the middle of the pack. The opposite is also true. Bottom line: Fantasy Football is like the real game. You can draft the greatest talent in the world but you still need to manage your team every week to get the most out of that talent.
