  • Jets looking to contain Wilson
The NY Jets will face dinged-up Seattle QB Russell Wilson on Sunday, who is dealing with ankle and knee injuries.

Advice: Wilson was not listed on Seattle's injury report, but has been dealing with the injuries all week. The Jets have just two sacks since a seven sack outburst in Week 1, and will look to contain the speedy Seattle quarterback on Sunday. Seattle will get a boost to its offensive line with rookie RG Germain Ifedi making his 2016 debut after dealing with ankle troubles, a change the Seahawks hope will help protect Wilson. The Jets D/ST is a mid-level fantasy option in Week 4. Rotoworld.com Just now

Bills OC Anthony Lynn said the team wants to get Charles Clay more involved.

Advice: "We had targets to Charles Clay last week. We missed him on one. One time the protection didn’t hold up," said Lynn. "We do have Charles in mind and we know that he’s a playmaker so we’re trying to get him the football." In the immortal words of Admiral Ackbar, it's a trap. Clay can be left on waivers. • Jamaal Charles still saw some scout-team work
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Jamaal Charles (knee, questionable) still saw some scout-team work this week.

Advice: "It’s been good," Reid said of his week of practice. "He’s done a little bit of team, a little bit of scout. He’s mixed it in and out and looks like he’s getting better all the time." Charles will reportedly make his debut this week, but it would be surprising if he saw more than a handful of touches with the bye week on the horizon. • Bobby Rainey should have role with Vereen out
Giants RB Bobby Rainey should have a role with Shane Vereen (triceps, injured reserve) sidelined.

Advice: Orleans Darkwa is expected to see the biggest spike in playing time with Vereen out and could start Monday night with Rashad Jennings' (thumb) unlikely to play, but Rainey will have a passing-game role even when Darkwa and Jennings are healthy. Rainey caught 33 passes for 315 yards and a touchdown with the Bucs in 2014, and he is a solid add in deeper PPR formats. Rotoworld.com Today, 7:00 am

  • Terrance West could become starter this week
ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley said it "wouldn't be surprising" if Terrance West took over as the starter this week.

Advice: Coach John Harbaugh talked about making changes in the backfield this week, and swapping out Justin Forsett for West is the most logical option. Forsett has just 98 yards on 31 carries this season and zero touchdowns. West has not been much better (33-for-119), but he has looked like a much better runner. Colts owner Jim Irsay said there is no serious issue with Andrew Luck's shoulder.

Advice: No serious issue is not the same as no issue. Still, Irsay said Luck will not need surgery, and the shoulder will not cause him to miss a game this year. When asked if Eric Decker's shoulder injury was potentially season-ending, Jets coach Todd Bowles said he is "not sure."

Advice: Decker has a partially torn right rotator cuff. "They have to monitor it," Bowles said. "[Doctors] said some people play with it over the course of time. We’ll see how it goes." Surgery is reportedly not an option right now, but it could be if the injury does not improve through rest and rehab. It looks like Decker will miss at least several weeks. • Kenneth Dixon will be eased back into action
ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley expects rookie RB Kenneth Dixon (knee, doubtful) to be "eased back into the mix."

Advice: Dixon will not play this week, and he will likely be limited even if he returns against Washington Week 5. Once he is healthy, Dixon should be in something of a timeshare with Terrance West and perhaps Justin Forsett. ESPN Eagles reporter Tim McManus said fifth-round RB Wendell Smallwood should see "plenty of opportunities" this season.

Advice: McManus cautions Ryan Mathews should still be the lead back when healthy, but he correctly points out Mathews has struggled to stay on the field throughout his career. "There should be plenty of opportunities for Smallwood over the course of the season," McManus said, "and those opportunities will likely grow if he continues to produce like he did against the Steelers." ESPN Bears reporter Jeff Dickerson said Jordan Howard will be "more of a committee guy" once Jeremy Langford (ankle) returns.

Advice: Langford will be out at least another month, so this is not an immediate concern to Howard's fantasy value. More importantly, Langford was terrible before going down, so Howard could certainly win the starting job outright with good performances the next several weeks. • Sam Bradford 'just trusts' Kyle Rudolph
Sam Bradford said Kyle Rudolph is "one of those guys as a quarterback that you can just trust."

"You know that if you put the ball in his area, he’s going to go up and he’s going to make a play and he’s going to get it." The veracity of that statement is certainly up for debate, but it is clear Bradford trusts his big tight end. Rudolph has 10 catches for 101 yards and two scores in two games with Bradford this season, and he is a good bet to keep the touchdown streak alive Monday night against the Giants. Wright managed just 36 catches in 10 games last year and missed most of camp and the early part of the season with a hamstring injury. That said, it is not like the Titans have many better options. Coach Doug Pederson had nothing but praise for rookie RB Wendell Smallwood's performance following the Week 3 win over the Steelers.

Advice: "He's the same type of runner that we felt he was coming out of college and what we saw in preseason," said Pederson. "He's a big, powerful guy. He's a downhill guy. He's a one-cut runner. He did a great job for us." At the link below, Philly Voice's Jimmy Kempski broke down a bunch of Smallwood's runs from the win, and his burst through the hole was incredible. Wendell Smallwood racked up 79 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries Sunday in the Eagles' Week 3 win over the Steelers.

Advice: The Eagles’ No. 4 running back (according to their most recent depth chart) announced his presence with a big second half, gashing the Steelers for 64 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries after the intermission. Smallwood saw the vast majority of Philadelphia’s rushing work with Ryan Mathews sidelined for most of the game. It’s notable that Smallwood also got first dibs on goal-line carries with Darren Sproles limited to a receiving role and Kenjon Barner handling change-of-pace work. • Luck throws for 331 yards, TD, INT in victory
Andrew Luck completed 24-of-37 passes for 331 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Colts' Week 3 win over the Chargers.

Advice: Luck -- and the Colts offense as a whole -- was dreadful for much of the day, but he found T.Y. Hilton for a 63-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter with the Colts trailing 22-20. Luck could have had a more productive afternoon, but Dwayne Allen dropped a six-yard score early in the first quarter. His interception was a terrible sideline shot that set the Chargers up at Indy's six-yard line. Luck's shoulder "injury" was a non-issue, as he uncorked 37 attempts. Luck will look to rebound across the pond next week against the Jaguars in London. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 4:56 pm

  • Hilton goes off for 8-174 and game-winning TD
T.Y. Hilton caught 8-of-11 targets for 174 yards and one touchdown in the Colts' 26-22, Week 3 win over the Chargers.

Advice: Hilton did battle against Chargers rising star CB Jason Verrett for much of the day, but got the better of him when all was said and done. Hilton made a slick grab deep down the sideline with Verrett draped on him in the third quarter, and then accounted for the game-winning 63-yard score late in the fourth quarter, running right by the defense down the middle. The knee "injury" that had Hilton listed questionable proved to be a non-issue. Hilton will be a WR1/2 next week when the Colts travel to London to face the Jaguars. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 4:46 pm

  • Streak Over: Decker catches 1 for 31 in loss
Eric Decker caught 1-of-6 targets for 31 yards in the Jets' Week 3 loss to the Chiefs.

Advice: And with this horrendous performance by the Jets offense, Decker’s streak of 18 consecutive games with 80 yards or a touchdown is snapped. Decker had just one target in the first half, and he did not get his first catch until early in the fourth quarter. Decker was targeted in the end zone in the second half, but Eric Berry went up high to break up the pass. Ryan Fitzpatrick was terrible Sunday, and it will not get any easier with the Seahawks coming to town next week. Still, Decker will be a good bet to start a new streak in that game. • Kyle Rudolph goes 7/70/1 vs. Panthers
Kyle Rudolph caught 7-of-10 targets for 70 yards and a touchdown in Minnesota's Week 3 win over the Panthers.

Advice: Rudolph was the Vikings' most-targeted pass catcher, and caught their lone touchdown. Rudolph could have had a second score, but committed the rare combo drop/offensive pass interference. A much bigger part of Minnesota's offense this year, Rudolph has 14/166/2 through three games. He's on the TE1 radar in an extremely down year for the position. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:58 pm

  • Terrance West creates 45 yards on 10 carries
Terrance West notched 45 yards on 10 carries and snagged his only target for eight yards Sunday in the Ravens' Week 3 win over the Jaguars.

Advice: West opened the third quarter with a 15-yard burst but averaged just 3.33 yards on his other nine totes. That 15-yard run was the longest by a Raven this season. West outgained Justin Forsett on the ground but Forsett took on a much larger role in the passing game with seven targets compared to only one for West. Neither players will be appealing flex options next week against the Raiders. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:48 pm

  • Charles Clay goes catch-less against Cards
Charles Clay was held catch-less on two targets in the Bills' Week 3 loss to the Cardinals.

Chiefs declared RB Jamaal Charles, OL Parker Ehinger, OL Jah Reid, QB Tyler Bray, LB Sam Barrington, WR De'Anthony Thomas, and CB Kenneth Acker inactive for Week 3 against the Jets.

Advice: The Chiefs will get RG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif back after he sat out last week with an ankle injury, but he will not start. Charles saw some practice reps with the first-team and coach Andy Reid suggested he could be back next week, but his return date is still up in the air. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) is "definitely making progress" and there is hope he can be ready for Week 4.

Advice: Schefter reported earlier this week Garoppolo had "a chance" to be active, so this sounds like better news. • A. Luck (shoulder) is fully expected to start
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora confirms Andrew Luck (shoulder) "is starting" Sunday against San Diego.

Advice: Luck's practice reps were limited during the week and he was listed as questionable, but there was never any concern about his availability among beat reporters. Some parts of the DFS community got worried when the Colts-Chargers game was pulled off the board at a few Vegas sportsbooks on Wednesday, but it is up at every meaningful sportsbook at the moment. Advice: He was listed as doubtful on Friday despite seeing some practice reps with the first-team offense this week. Coach Andy Reid suggested Charles could play in Week 4 against Pittsburgh. • Jamaal Charles (knee) doubtful for Week 3
Jamaal Charles (knee) is doubtful for Week 3 against the Jets.

Advice: Coach Andy Reid gave Charles owners some false hope Friday by hinting at a return in Week 3, but his doubtful listing confirms that won't be the case. Spencer Ware is looking at another week atop the Chiefs' running back depth chart. Charles has worked with the first-team offense at practice the past few days after being relegated to scout team duty the previous two weeks. He's getting close. Daily Slant: The backfield will very likely be left to Ware and West yet again, although this is the toughest draw they've faced so far. The Jets haven't allowed much to opposing backs this year, holding them to a shade under 4.0 YPC on 29 totes, and they've struggled to get pressure on opposing QBs. They managed to hit Tyrod Taylor just once (no sacks) last week, setting up Alex Smith and Jeremy Maclin as sneaky GPP plays. Rotoworld.com Friday, 12:45 pm

  • Pats think Garoppolo could return in Week 4
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Patriots believe Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) "has a chance" to be ready in Week 4 against the Bills.

Advice: Schefter concedes it's "too early to say for sure," but Garoppolo will be under center if he's able, particularly following Jacoby Brissett's thumb injury. Tom Brady has one more game on suspension, then will return in Week 5. As of Thursday, however, Garoppolo was still in a "tremendous amount of pain" due to his throwing-arm injury. • Reid leaves door open for J. Charles to play
Chiefs coach Andy Reid left the door open Friday for Jamaal Charles (knee) to play in Week 3 against the Jets.

Advice: "I think he feels like he can do it," said Reid. Reid also revealed that Charles began practicing with the first-team offense after working only with the scout team in the first two weeks of the season. Charles' role would undoubtedly be limited were he able to play against the Jets, but his progress is a very good sign. Spencer Ware should remain the Chiefs' lead back in Week 3. Kenneth Dixon (knee) has been ruled out for Week 3.

Advice: Dixon is believed to be targeting Week 4 to make his first NFL appearance, although he didn't practice this week and isn't known to be making any headway in his recovery. Dixon remains worth holding onto in 14-team leagues, and some deeper 12-team ones. He looked like the Ravens' best back in preseason games. Rotoworld.com Friday, 11:16 am

  • Bears OC happy with Howard's practice week
Bears OC Dowell Loggains said rookie RB Jordan Howard had a good week of practice.

Advice: Beat writer Brad Biggs believes it could be an indication Howard is ready to start taking carries from No. 1 back Jeremy Langford. Howard showed good burst on his five touches last Monday night, something Langford hasn't displayed much of in his career. Howard also broke a tackle, which is one more than Langford has broken all season on 31 touches. Howard is worthy of a bench stash in 12-team leagues. Rotoworld.com Friday, 6:47 am

  • T.Y. Hilton (knee) gets in limited practice
T.Y. Hilton was added to the Colts' injury report Thursday, getting in a limited practice with a knee issue.

Advice: A similar move caused alarm last week, but it turns out this is just going to be Hilton's ritual for the time being. Hilton was actually held out last Thursday before ultimately starting against the Broncos. He's a solid WR2 for a decent matchup with the Chargers. Jason Verrett is unlikely to follow Hilton into the slot. Daily Slant: Hilton is second in targets (23) and tied for fourth in red-zone targets (4) in the early going, which sets him up for a huge afternoon against the Chargers. He's going to avoid Verrett while he's lined up in the slot, and with Donte Moncrief out there is little reason to expect his target total to drop. This contest is one of the better targets of the week on the fast Indy track. Hilton is playable in any format. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 1:32 pm

  • Bears rookie RB Howard to see increased role?
The Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggs "would not be surprised" if Bears fifth-round RB Jordan Howard "sees his role grow soon."

Advice: Biggs notes Howard impressed in the Bears' preseason finale -- 16 carries for 107 yards and one touchdown with two catches for 33 -- and also provided a brief spark in the Monday night Week 2 loss to the Eagles with gains of eight, 10, and four yards on his three carries. He also caught both of his pass-game targets. Jeremy Langford has been brutal through two games, averaging 3.0 YPC with a lost fumble. He's not making defenders miss.
