  • Bengals express confidence in Jeremy Hill
Bengals OC Hue Jackson expressed confidence Friday that Jeremy Hill will be a capable lead back in the absence of Gio Bernard (shoulder/hip).

Advice: "I feel good that if it happened that way, that [Hill] would go in there and do the job," Jackson said. ESPN Bengals reporter Coley Harvey expects Cedric Peerman and Rex Burkhead to also supply "production from the running back position" off the bench, although Hill has shown capable of being a true every-down back and is the heavy favorite for touches. Keep in mind the Jaguars have allowed just 3.44 YPC and one rushing score to opposing running backs over their last five games, and Cincinnati's struggling run-blocking unit will be without RG Kevin Zeitler (calf). Hill owners will be hanging their hats on anticipated volume and goal-line chances. Rotoworld.com

  • Marvin Lewis noncommittal on Gio for Week 10
Asked Friday whether Giovani Bernard (hip, out) will be available for Week 10 against the Browns, coach Marvin Lewis replied "We'll see."

Advice: "We'll cross those bridges then," Lewis said of Bernard, whose production has dwindled while battling shoulder, rib, and hip injuries the past three weeks. "The rest will be good for him." After hosting the Jaguars on Sunday, the Bengals have a quick Week 10 turnaround as they'll host the Browns on Thursday Night Football. It's conceivable that rookie power back Jeremy Hill will end up making consecutive starts. Rotoworld.com

  • Bengals express confidence AJ Green will play
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis expressed confidence Friday that A.J. Green (toe, questionable) will play Sunday against the Jaguars after practicing for a third consecutive day.

Advice: Green was technically "limited" in all three practices, but he's on course to start. "If everything stays the way it is, he'll play," Lewis said. The Bengals should be thankful to have gone 1-1-1 without Green in the lineup, including getting a critical division victory over the Ravens last week. With Green back and Mohamed Sanu rolling, Andy Dalton is shaping up as a decent two-quarterback-league start against a depleted Jaguars pass defense. Rotoworld.com

  • Linehan hints Tony Romo may not play Sunday
Cowboys playcaller Scott Linehan acknowledged Friday that "it's rare" for a quarterback to play after missing an entire week of practice.

Advice: Tony Romo (back), of course, missed the entire week of practice. We were quite surprised when Jerry Jones essentially put the onus on Romo to play, deeming his availability a matter of "pain tolerance." Romo is a 34-year-old human being who's undergone two major back surgeries within the last two years. The chances appear to be rising that Brandon Weeden will start versus Arizona. Advice: Barring a surprise, Bobby Rainey will get the start at running back against the Browns. Depending on how the Bucs choose to sprinkle Mike James and/or Charles Sims in, Rainey could handle 20-plus touches. If so, he'd be a high-upside RB2 against a Cleveland defense that is yielding the ninth-most fantasy points to running backs. Rainey has easily been Tampa's best runner in 2014. Rotoworld.com

Bernard has been getting beat up the past few weeks, first injuring his collarbone, then suffering a hip pointer last week. Jeremy Hill is expected to "take over the load of the duties" on Sunday. Brandin Cooks caught 3-of-3 targets for 38 yards in the Saints' Week 9 win over the Panthers.

Advice: It was a disappointing night coming off Cooks' 6/94/1 Week 8, especially since he seemed to be finding the soft spots in Carolina's secondary. Either way, Drew Brees was spreading the ball around, finding eight different receivers. Cooks has weekly blow-up potential, but his season-long upside seems capped by the Saints' spread-the-wealth passing attack. With half his rookie year now in the books, Cooks is on pace for 86/820/4 four as a receiver, and 136 additional yards as a rusher. He's a boom-or-bust WR3. Rotoworld.com

The Cincinnati Enquirer's Richard Skinner wrote on Twitter Wednesday that Giovani Bernard has a "hip pointer" and his clavicle is "bothering him," and Bernard "could miss Sunday('s)" game against the Jaguars.

Advice: The clavicle is the collarbone. We've known about that injury for a few weeks. The hip pointer is what kept Bernard out for the final 7-8 minutes of last week's win over Baltimore. The Bengals play the Browns on Thursday Night Football in Week 10, so it's conceivable that they will consider holding him out of Sunday's game in an effort to get him back for a key divisional matchup with 4-3 Cleveland. Ian Fitzsimmons of ESPN Radio in Dallas is "told" Tony Romo is "questionable at best" to play in Week 9 against the Cardinals after suffering a back injury in Monday night's loss to the Redskins.

Advice: Romo was in so much pain Monday night that he is likely very sore early this week, and could miss all three Cowboys practices. Per Fitzsimmons, Romo's "season is not in jeopardy," but missing Week 9 is a real possibility. The Cowboys are 6-2 and can't afford to a setback that would cost their quarterback significant time. • Romo's back injury not related to 2013 issue
Speaking at Tuesday's presser, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Tony Romo's back injury is not related to the back issue that ended his 2013 season and required surgery.

Advice: "It appears to be a separate injury, not related to what he had last year," were Garrett's exact words. It's obviously encouraging news, but the Cowboys are still awaiting Romo's MRI results. It's not a slam dunk that he'll be ready for Week 9 despite returning to Monday's loss to the Redskins. We should have a much firmer idea of Romo's status 24 hours from now. Rotoworld.com

  • Jordan Cameron in doubt for next two games
Jordan Cameron's (concussion) status for the next two games is in doubt.

Advice: Cameron sustained his third concussion since 2012 in Sunday's win when he was drilled illegally by Raiders safety Brandian Ross. He's going to struggle to gain clearance for this week and then the Browns play the Thursday game in Week 10. "The league, as they should be, is very deliberate with the (concussion) protocol," said coach Mike Pettine Tuesday. Cameron owners need to be making other plans at the tight end position immediately. Rotoworld.com

Darren Sproles (knee) is practicing Tuesday.

Advice: Sproles practiced on a limited basis every day last week but was held out of Sunday's loss at Arizona. It appears that was mostly precautionary as he comes off an MCL sprain. Sproles should be on the good side of a questionable tag for this week's game at Houston. Rotoworld.com

  • Jordan Cameron's status very shaky
ESPN Cleveland suggests the addition of TE Ryan Taylor means Jordan Cameron (concussion) could be out more than one game.

Advice: The concussion Cameron sustained on Sunday is his third since the 2012 season. His first one caused him to miss two games and the one he sustained last year kept him out of one game. Of course, the more concussions a player suffers, the tougher it can be for him to get cleared. Cameron owners need to be making other plans right now. Rotoworld.com

Rashad Jennings (knee) ran Monday for the first time since his MCL sprain.

Advice: Jennings' sprain has proven to be more serious than originally anticipated. The fact that he's just resumed straight-line running and won't even try to do any cutting until Wednesday means he's highly unlikely to play against the Colts Monday night. • Bucs will consider offers for Martin, Barron
The Bucs will consider offers for RB Doug Martin and S Mark Barron ahead of Tuesday's 4pm ET trade deadline.

Advice: The Bucs are also getting calls on Vincent Jackson, but he's highly unlikely to get moved. Martin, on the other hand, has been the subject of heavy rumors over the last week. He's averaged just 3.36 yards per carry over the last two seasons, has been brutal in pass protection and the Lovie Smith regime inherited him. Charles Sims (ankle) is expected to be active and have a role against the Browns Sunday whether Martin gets moved or not. Barron, the No. 7 overall pick in 2012, has three interceptions and one forced fumble in 37 career games while consistently grading out in the bottom third of PFF's safety grades. Rotoworld.com

  • Cowboys confident Romo just has a contusion
ESPN's Ed Werder confirms the Cowboys seem confident Tony Romo only suffered a muscle contusion during Monday night's loss to the Redskins.

Advice: Romo took a direct hit to the area where his back was twice surgically repaired, but that's not how you injure a disc. He'll have an MRI Tuesday morning to confirm that he just has a bruise near the site of the surgeries, leaving the main concerns as pain tolerance and functional ability. Romo is sure to be very sore this week and will likely need injections in the short-term to keep playing. He said late Monday night that since he was able to come back into Monday's game, he believes he'll be able to play against the Cardinals in Week 9. Rotoworld.com

Advice: The problem is that Martin isn't an effective player at this point in his career. "Doug is a part of it and we’d like to have more, but in order for Doug to get more yards, he’s got to get a lot more touches and we’ve got to convert third downs," Smith said. Browns coach Mike Pettine admitted Isaiah Crowell's role has been reduced due to "ball security concerns."

Advice: The Browns were unwilling to give Crowell late-game carries in Sunday's win over the Raiders two weeks after he fumbled twice, losing one. Crowell is the best talent in Cleveland's backfield, but his usage has been discouraging to the point that he can only be viewed as an RB4 stash in fantasy leagues. Coach Ron Rivera said the Seahawks rolled coverage toward Greg Olsen Sunday.

Advice: Olsen had his worst game of the season, catching just one pass for 16 yards on three targets. The Seahawks chose to use Richard Sherman in shadow coverage on Kelvin Benjamin, thus allowing their safeties to double up on Olsen. • Giovani Bernard seems fine after hip scare
Giovani Bernard held court with reporters following Sunday's win over Baltimore, after missing most of the fourth quarter with a hip injury.

Advice: Bernard didn't play in the final eight minutes. Neither Bernard nor coach Marvin Lewis was even asked about the injury, suggesting there were no indications Gio was significantly injured. It's worth noting that Bernard missed time in Week 6 with a shoulder/collarbone injury, was limited in practice after Week 7 with a rib injury, and now suffered the hip injury against the Ravens. Gio is currently on pace for 250 carries but only 51 receptions, five fewer than Bernard notched in a lesser role as a rookie. • Isaiah Crowell gets 2 touches against OAK
Isaiah Crowell rushed once for one yard and caught one pass for eight yards in the Browns' Week 8 win over the Raiders.

Advice: The undrafted rookie was the No. 3 back through Cleveland's rotation, playing behind Ben Tate and Terrance West. Although Crowell is arguably the most talented back in the bunch, his usage has not warranted fantasy start-ability, and the Browns' running game isn't nearly as efficient as it was early in the season. Crowell is teetering between RB3 and RB4 "stash" value in fantasy leagues. He won't be a flex option in Week 9 against Tampa Bay. Rotoworld.com

  • Travaris Cadet on track for bigger role
Travaris Cadet will likely be "heavily involved" in the pass game Sunday.

Advice: Pierre Thomas (shoulder) is not expected to play and Jimmy Graham (shoulder) could be limited again. Cadet, a strict passing back, has been integrated into the gameplan early over the last three weeks anyway, posting a 15-129-1 line through the air. Owners in full-PPR leagues could stream Cadet into their lineups and safely project 4-6 catches in a game that has the week's highest over/under (56). Rotoworld.com

  • Owen Daniels (knee) misses practice
Owen Daniels (knee) did not practice Wednesday.

Advice: It's a new injury for Daniels, who posted a 6/58/1 line in Week 7. His status will be updated again on Thursday. Rotoworld.com
