  • Gase calls out Parker for nagging injuries
Dolphins coach Adam Gase said DeVante Parker (hamstring) needs to do "the little things" off the field to stay healthy.

Advice: Parker tweaked his left hamstring in Monday's practice after missing several weeks of camp with a similar injury. "I feel like I’ve been through this with Demaryius [Thomas] in Denver," Gase said. "Sometimes it takes some guys more time to learn more than others. Eventually ... he will know how to push through certain kinds of pain." Gase is clearly frustrated with the sophomore, who has fallen behind Kenny Stills on the depth chart. Parker still has more fantasy upside than Stills, but he is a risky pick in the eighth round. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:54 pm

Advice: It was the expected outcome even though no one really knows what's truly sidelining the fifth-year tight end. Green and the Steelers both claim it is his ankle, but his agent said earlier this month that his ankle was fine. The headache rumors have not been completely debunked. Advice: Dealing with a severe elbow injury, McFadden is expected to begin the season on the Cowboys' reserve/NFI list should he stay put in Dallas. If not, he could be available earlier if cleared by another team's doctors. Alfred Morris has played well enough this preseason to open 2016 as Ezekiel Elliott's clear backup. Perriman doesn't figure to be on the field for more than a series or two, but the real takeaway is that it confirms he'll be ready for Week 1. That's barring a setback, of course. Doctson seems to have no shot at suiting up for Week 1, and can best be clarified as "week to week." He's been battling the still-mysterious issue since June 1. "It's fun to get out there and get up to the line, get our guys in the right spots and keep the pressure on the defense." Famously not allowed to audible in the last offensive system in Miami, Tannehill is obviously relishing the opportunity to actually play quarterback. Advice: They also sent RB Glenn Winston (shoulder) and DL Nile Lawrence-Stample (shoulder) to injured reserve. Cleveland has one more move to make before tomorrow's deadline. Davis was an expected cut, but it is a reminder the team ridiculously gave him a three-year contract with a $500,000 signing bonus and $600,000 guaranteed last September. Advice: Cobb looked like the player the Packers needed him to be last season -- but he wasn't -- knifing through the 49ers' defense before catching a quick screen from Aaron Rodgers and powering in for a short TD. • RG3 pummeled in regular season tune-up vs. TB
Robert Griffin III completed 8-of-14 passes for 119 yards and one touchdown in the Browns' third preseason game Friday night.

Advice: The Bucs field one of the least-inspiring pass-rush groups in the league, but they recorded five sacks on RGIII in the first half, while knocking him down a number of other times. They especially got after the quarterback on third down, as coach Hue Jackson dialed up a lot of long-developing plays only to see his offensive line not hold its blocks. RGIII finished on a high note, however, hitting Josh Gordon deep for a 43-yard touchdown. Gordon did all the work, manhandling pint-sized CB Brent Grimes and adjusting to the ball in the air. • DeVante Parker has two-catch night vs. ATL
DeVante Parker caught 2-of-4 targets for eight yards in the Dolphins' third preseason game.

Advice: The takeaway is that Parker was operating as the No. 3 receiver, getting shut out of two-receiver sets by Kenny Stills. The third preseason game isn't usually message sending time, so it's quite possible Stills will open the year as a starter with Parker limited to three-wide looks. It's not time to sell all your Parker stock, of course. He's a legitimate playmaker the Dolphins desperately need to make noise on the boundary, but perhaps WR4/5 numbers should be the expectation for September. Ryan Tannehill completed 20-of-29 passes for 155 yards, zero touchdowns and an interception in Thursday's preseason game.

Advice: He added two carries for 22 yards. They're mediocre stats, but the Dolphins' coaching staff probably liked what it saw from its quarterback. Tannehill appeared more in command than he's been in years past, going so far as to — gasp — audible. His decision-making still wasn't the best — the pick was a tipped ball thrown directly at a lineman — but he showed his usual nice connection with Jarvis Landry in addition to Kenny Stills. To his point, Green did appear to be doing a little more work on a side field during practice this week. Green's status is still completely up in the air, but he did say he is "confident" he will play this season. Rotoworld.com Aug 20, 1:22 pm

  • Tannehill throws for 162 and 2 TDs Friday
Ryan Tannehill completed 12-of-20 passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns Friday night against the Cowboys.

Advice: He added two rushes for 16 yards including a nine-yard gain on an option keeper. Tannehill's best plays of the night both went to Kenny Stills. The first was a 55-yard bomb on the move in the first quarter, and the second was a beautiful touch pass for a three-yard score near the end of the first half. He had another sure touchdown dropped by Jordan Cameron. Aside from consistently throwing behind his receivers on out breaking routes, it was an overall solid performance. Just a season removed from a QB8 finish, Tannehill is as good a late-round quarterback flier as any. Rotoworld.com Aug 20, 9:09 am
