Latavius Murray's concussion in Week 12 was the first of his football career.

Lynch is still one of the top backs in the league and makes plays seemingly every game that only a few players in the league can make. Advice: Ya think? Murray didn't get the start Thursday, but entered early in the first quarter and capped off the second and fourth possessions with 11- and 90-yard touchdown runs, respectively. Murray has always been long on talent; it just took Sparano taking over as the coach for the Raiders to realize it and start giving him more snaps. He's the clear No. 2 to Steven Jackson, but Jackson has pulled ahead as the top dog in Atlanta's backfield. Smith wasn't getting more than 2-4 touches per game before his injury anyway. Advice: McFadden once again led the Raiders in (ineffective) touches, but refreshingly, that's not how they drew it up. Oakland came out handing the ball off to Latavius Murray after DMC drew the "start," but a wildly effective Murray (4/112/2) was limited to only four carries by a concussion. Then McFadden took over and the Raiders' rushing attack went back in the tank. DMC simply doesn't make defenders miss. He's now averaging 3.37 yards per carry. Jamaal Charles rushed 19 times for 80 yards in Kansas City's Week 12 loss to the Raiders, adding four catches for 42 yards and a touchdown.

Advice: As usual, Charles was the Chiefs' best player. As sometimes happens, coach Andy Reid kept going away from him at critical junctures, and it may have cost Kansas City the game. Charles touched the ball just once on the Chiefs' final two drives, something that simply can't happen in a game you lose by four points. Charles' all-world athleticism was on full display on his 30-yard touchdown reception, as he turned a dumpoff into a pin-balling score. Latavius Murray was forced from Oakland's Week 12 game against the Chiefs with a concussion, and will not return.

Advice: What a shame. Finally unleashed behind finished veterans Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew, Murray rushed four times for 112 yards and two touchdowns. He notched scores of 11 and 90 yards, using vicious cutbacks to break free on both runs. The second was the longest play by any player in the NFL this season. Murray took a helmet-to-helmet hit on his fourth rush, however, and was obviously woozy. If there's good news, it's that he has 10 days to get healthy for next week's game against the Rams. It's safe to assume Murray will be the Raiders' new starter when healthy. Following his 90-yard score, Murray's 107 yards on the evening represented 14.4 percent of the Raiders' season total. • Khiry Robinson (arm) not practicing Thursday
Khiry Robinson (forearm) remained sidelined at Saints practice Thursday.

Advice: It puts Robinson on track to miss his fifth-straight game. Although Pierre Thomas (shoulder) appears likely to return for Monday's game against the Ravens, Robinson's likely absence leaves Mark Ingram as the Saints' unquestioned early-down back. Rotoworld.com

  • Pierre Thomas finally resumes practicing
Pierre Thomas (shoulder) returned to Saints practice Thursday, getting in a limited session.

Advice: It's Thomas' first practice of any kind since he went down in Week 7. Speaking afterward, Thomas played coy on his status, but was in "high spirits." The Saints have badly missed Thomas in the screen game, and need him back more than ever with Brandin Cooks (thumb) done for the season. Thomas' return shouldn't put a huge dent in Mark Ingram's workload, as the backs play much-different roles. Khiry Robinson (arm) remains sidelined. Rotoworld.com

  • Arian Foster (groin) to be game-time call
Arian Foster (groin) will be a game-time decision for Week 12.

Advice: It's the same thing coach Bill O'Brien said last week, though Foster didn't come close to suiting up against the Browns. Foster was downgraded to "DNP" on Thursday after being "limited" on Wednesday. He appears to have slightly better odds of suiting up for Week 12 than he did in Week 11, but his status still remains murky, at best. Foster will be a top-five RB1 if he goes, but owners can't be counting on it. Keep Alfred Blue on speed dial as a plug-and-play RB2. Rotoworld.com

  • Raiders having worst rushing year in history
The Raiders are on pace for 1,008 rushing yards, which would be the fewest ever for a 16-game season.

Advice: If you've found the Raiders' run game to be monumentally futile, that's because it has been. Nevertheless, Oakland has trudged on giving carries to has-beens Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew. That might change in Thursday's game against the Chiefs, as ESPN's Adam Caplan has reported Latavius Murray will finally be in for a bigger workload. There's no reason to expect Murray to be a star, but it's long past time for the Raiders to find out what they have in the 2013 sixth-rounder. DMC and MJD are done. Rotoworld.com

Vikings OC Norv Turner insists Jerick McKinnon is still the team's top back despite the addition of Ben Tate.

Advice: "We’re excited about Jerick and what he’s done and I see him as our running back," Norval said. According to Turner, Tate is just an "insurance" policy with McKinnon battling a minor back injury and Matt Asiata (concussion) unlikely for Week 12. If Tate is going to threaten McKinnon's No. 1 status, it's not going to be in Week 12 with just four days to learn the playbook. McKinnon will be a boom-or-bust RB2 against the Packers. The Indy Star says the "burden" of the running game is now going to fall on Trent Richardson.

Advice: It's a scary thought for the Colts in the wake of Ahmad Bradshaw's fracture. Richardson has been among the least effective backs in the NFL over the last two seasons, averaging 3.12 YPC with five rushing touchdowns in 23 games as a Colt. The difference between T-Rich and Bradshaw was night and day. Already getting 15.2 touches per game, it's now conceivable that Richardson will get up around 20 going forward -- especially in clock-killing situations like the one we'll likely see in Week 12 when the Colts host the Jags. The San Francisco Chronicle suggests Latavius Murray's time behind Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew might finally be over.

Advice: The 0-10 Raiders have insisted on giving carries to two veterans past their prime. We'd say it's a no-brainer to now give 24-year-old athletic freak Murray the feature role down the stretch, but this is one of the most dysfunctional organizations in pro sports. Murray, who rushed four times for 47 yards and caught three passes for 16 yards on a season-high 27 snaps Sunday, is a "wait and see" kind of add. Marshawn Lynch admitted he doesn't know if he'll be back with the Seahawks in 2015.

Advice: The Seahawks can save $7 million of Lynch's $8.5 million cap hit by cutting him in the offseason. Lynch also turns 29 next April and ESPN's Chris Mortensen previously reported that the team has "grown tired" of his "ways." On the field, however, Lynch continues to perform at an All-Pro level, ranking fifth among running backs in yards after contact per attempt and averaging a hefty 4.59 YPC with nine touchdowns. Mike James did not even play a snap and Doug Martin (ankle) was a scratch once again. It left Sims to pile up 16 touches and although he was not productive (44 total yards), he's clearly making progress. "He is looking better and better," coach Lovie Smith afterward. Advice: Facing one of his toughest opponents of the season, Bell had arguably his best game. Bell refused to go down, shedding tackles and extending runs with excellent balance. He's now averaging 5.37 yards per carry over his past two games after limping into Week 10 with a 3.19 YPC. For the year, his mark is now up to 3.62. Murray is a straight-linish, upright runner with flaws, but Oakland has nothing to lose at this point by playing him. Advice: Thomas almost got loose on a long punt return but was ruled to have stepped out of bounds. The numbers were not gaudy, but the threat of Thomas had the Seahawks' defense moving sideways all game, giving Jamaal Charles huge holes to run through. Charles gained 159 yards on 20 carries. Advice: Minnesota was dominated in time of possession -- 39 to 21 -- which left very little opportunity for a Vikings team to run the ball, especially because they played with a deficit for most of Sunday's contest. McKinnon's fantasy start-ability going forward is up in the air with Adrian Peterson having a chance to return in Week 12 against Green Bay. The Seahawks have plenty of cap space for 2015, and should be able to fit a Russell Wilson mega-extension into that along with Lynch's $8.5 million cap hit. Seattle has gotten very little out of Christine Michael, while Robert Turbin doesn't project as a feature back. The Seahawks could look to go running back early in next year's draft. Rotoworld.com

  • Texans expect Foster back Week 12 vs. Bengals
Coach Bill O'Brien said he expects Arian Foster (groin) back in the lineup Week 12 against the Bengals.

Advice: Per O'Brien, Foster's groin issue is a "two-week" injury. So, Foster should be fine for the fantasy playoffs, which start Week 13 in most leagues. Alfred Blue will get the start Sunday against the Browns. He's a solid RB2 simply because of volume, but we recommend the Cleveland defense for streaming purposes. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Seahawks expect Lynch (calf) to play
NFL Network's Albert Breer reports "teammates and friends" expect Marshawn Lynch (calf) to play Week 11 against the Chiefs.

Advice: That's not saying much, but it's worth noting nonetheless. We'd like something a little more concrete than "teammates and friends." Lynch is questionable after missing Wednesday and Thursday's practices and getting in a limited session Friday. The good news is the Seahawks and Chiefs kick off at 1 PM ET. Rotoworld.com

  • RapSheet: Reggie Bush (ankle) to miss Week 11
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Reggie Bush (ankle) will not play Week 11 against the Cardinals.

Advice: ESPN's Ed Werder had it first on Saturday. Bush is expected to be back for Week 12. Joique Bell will get the start against Arizona's top-end run defense, with Theo Riddick handling all of his and Bush's touches as the space back. With 8-10 touches, Riddick is worth some FLEX consideration in PPR formats. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Bush not expected to play Sunday
ESPN's Ed Werder reports Reggie Bush (questionable, ankle) won't play in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: The Lions' website also considers Bush "unlikely" to play this week. Bush has been dealing with his ankle issue for over a month and is expected to be rested in an effort to get fully healthy. Joique Bell will start and handle the majority of carries, with Theo Riddick replacing Bush in the passing-back role. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Coach Bill O'Brien called Foster a game-day decision following Friday's practice, but he was never expected to play. Rookie Alfred Blue will get the start and should see a heavy workload with Ryan Mallett making his first NFL start. Blue is a solid RB2 against a struggling Cleveland rush defense. Rotoworld.com

Coach Doug Marrone said Fred Jackson (groin) would have been active if the Bills played on Sunday.

Advice: Jackson was held out with Buffalo on a short week, but is on track play in Week 12. The Bills would have been better served resting Jackson in Week 10 knowing that they played on Thursday night. Jackson should handle the majority of carries when fully healthy, with Bryce Brown likely staying in a high-volume change of pace role. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Bush is officially listed as questionable, but will be replaced by Theo Riddick in the Lions' passing-back role. Joique Bell also gets a bump, although he has a very tough draw versus the NFL's No. 3 run defense. Riddick is worth a look as a lower-end flex play in PPR leagues. • Report: Arian Foster (groin) unlikely to play
ESPN's Adam Schefter stated on SportsCenter Friday that Arian Foster (groin, questionable) is unlikely to play in Week 11 against the Browns.

Advice: Technically, coach Bill O'Brien is calling Foster a game-day decision after he practiced "a little bit" on Friday. Multiple reports surfaced Friday that Foster will be out against Cleveland, giving Alfred Blue the start. "Right now it does not look promising," Schefter said of Foster's potential availability. "Signs not encouraging." Schefter expects a "heavy dose" of Alfred Blue against the Browns. Although Foster has had a great season when healthy, he has shown up on the weekly injury reports with four separate ailments. Blue will be an RB2 if he gets the nod at Cleveland. The Browns' defense is a recommended fantasy streamer against Houston's Ryan Mallett-led offense. Rotoworld.com

Advice: McKinnon was limited in Thursday's practice, but practiced again on Friday and should be all systems go for Sunday's clash with the collapsing Bears. • Report: Arian Foster out for Week 11 vs. CLE
Jayson Braddock of 790 Houston reports Arian Foster (groin) will not play Week 11 against the Browns.

Advice: We don't typically use Braddock as a source, but he's had some good Texans nuggets in the past, so it's worth a mention. The Texans have been pretty quiet on Foster's status all week, with coach Bill O'Brien chalking him up as a full-blown game-time decision. Foster, himself, wouldn't commit to playing, simply saying, "We shall see." Foster owners should own Alfred Blue already. If not, you need to be making other plans. Cleveland was already a top-end D/ST streamer, but would become infinitely more attractive if Foster ends up sitting. Rotoworld.com

Fred Jackson aggravated his groin injury in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.

Advice: In other words, Jackson's Thursday inactive wasn't just a matter of the Bills being on a short week. • F-Jax inactive for Thursday Night Football
Fred Jackson (groin) is inactive for Week 11 against the Dolphins.

Advice: F-Jax himself broke the news on Twitter. The short week was simply too much to overcome. It leaves Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon as the Bills' runners. Early-down back Dixon has the higher floor, but will likely find running lanes scarce against a Dolphins' run defense allowing only 3.9 yards per carry. Miami has surrendered just four rushing scores all year. Brown has the higher-ceiling as the Bills' pass-catching back. The Buffalo News' Tim Graham has gone as far as to recommend Brown as a PPR play, believing the Bills may focus on short passes since ground yards will be hard to come by. Neither player is a recommended RB2. Rotoworld.com

Speaking Thursday, Texans coach Bill O'Brien said Arian Foster (groin) will "definitely" be a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Browns.

Advice: Foster remained sidelined Thursday. There was early-week optimism that Foster would be ready to rock coming off the Texans' bye, but all current signs suggest he's no better than 50-50 to suit up. It's a nightmare for fantasy owners, and a shame since the Browns have one of the league's very-worst run defenses. Alfred Blue will be a plug-and-play RB2 if Foster sits. A source tells the Buffalo News that Fred Jackson (groin) almost certainly won't play in Thursday night's game at Miami.

Advice: The short week has proven too much to overcome for Jackson after he handled 26 snaps against the Chiefs Sunday. So the Bills will have to go into a pivotal division game with Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown as their top-two backs. Look for the inside-running Dixon to draw the start, but we'd rather take a shot on Brown as the explosive back that's better in the pass game. Jackson owners need to sit tight in the hopes he gets to 100 percent for a tasty fantasy playoff schedule (vs. GB Week 15, at OAK Week 16). Rotoworld.com
