ESPN Saints reporter Mike Triplett to "return to some form of timeshare" when Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas return from their injuries.

Coach Sean Payton was asked following Thursday night's win over Carolina whether Ingram has earned a larger share. "Listen, he certainly is," said Payton. "Yet the key is just the durability. The Bengals should be thankful to have gone 1-1-1 without Green in the lineup, including getting a critical division victory over the Ravens last week. Cowboys playcaller Scott Linehan acknowledged Friday that "it's rare" for a quarterback to play after missing an entire week of practice.

Advice: Tony Romo (back), of course, missed the entire week of practice. We were quite surprised when Jerry Jones essentially put the onus on Romo to play, deeming his availability a matter of "pain tolerance." Mark Ingram rushed 30 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns in New Orleans' Week 9 win over the Panthers, adding a 10-yard reception.

Advice: Ingram got the ball on New Orleans' first two plays from scrimmage and never looked back, becoming the first Saint since Deuce McAllister in 2006 to notch back-to-back 100-yard days on the ground. The 3.3 YPC was mildly disappointing against a Panthers team surrendering a league-worst 5.2 yards per carry, but Ingram was dialed up in a host of predictable running situations. He now has 54 carries for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the past five days. Ingram has a tough Week 10 matchup in the 49ers, but will be a locked-in RB2. Rotoworld.com

Even if Green practices again on Friday, he's likely trending toward a game-time decision, but owners can be cautiously optimistic he'll suit up. CIN/JAX kicks off at 1ET, so thankfully we'll have a Green answer no later than 11:30 AM ET. Rotoworld.com

  • Garrett 'certainly' optimistic Romo can play
Coach Jason Garrett said Thursday he's "certainly" optimistic Tony Romo (back) can play in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Romo did not participate in the Thursday morning walkthrough and is unlikely to practice much -- if at all - this week. However, he doesn't have any structural damage in his back and we've seen him play through all kinds of pain before, often taking pre-game injections. Ultimately, owners should expect a game-time call ahead of the 1pm ET matchup against a leaky Cardinals secondary. Rotoworld.com

  • Rashad Jennings already ruled out of Week 9
Rashad Jennings (knee) will not play in Monday's game against the Colts.

Advice: Jennings rehab from a Week 5 MCL sprain is not going as expected -- he hasn't even resumed practicing yet. We'll consider him questionable for Week 10. In the meantime, rookie Andre Williams will try to rebound from two ineffective and disappointing starts prior to the bye. Showing a lack of vision and a tendency to run to contact, Williams will only be a borderline RB2. Rotoworld.com

  • Charles Sims to push for 10+ touches Sunday?
Bucs beat writer Greg Auman sees 10-plus touches for Charles Sims (ankle) Sunday.

Advice: It sounds like a lot for a rookie that has been on IR/return all season, but it speaks to the kind of role the Bucs want him to have. Doug Martin (ankle) is in a walking boot and highly questionable, possibly leaving Sims and Bobby Rainey as the top-two backs against the Browns' No. 30 run defense Sunday. "There's no doubt, when (Sims) is ready to go, he will give us a spark," coach Lovie Smith said. "I feel pretty confident in saying that." Rotoworld.com

Mark Ingram said he feels good despite the short recovery time ahead of Thursday's game against Carolina.

Advice: We're always a little leery of players in the Thursday games, especially running backs who touched the ball 25 times the previous Sunday. But the spot is right again for Ingram as Pierre Thomas is out and Khiry Robinson is highly questionable, leaving Ingram to carry the load against a Panthers team that is giving up 5.22 YPC to opposing running backs. He's a borderline RB1 option. Rotoworld.com

Alex Smith (shoulder) is practicing in full for Week 9.

Advice: Smith was slammed to the turf by Robert Quinn on back-to-back plays late in the first half of Sunday's win over the Rams, lightly spraining his throwing shoulder. It's not a concern going forward. Smith has a dream matchup on paper this week against a Jets team that stuffs the run and gets exposed by the pass, but his conservative style caps upside. Just one of Smith's 29 pass attempts traveled more than 10 yards down the field Sunday. Smith hasn't thrown a touchdown to a wide receiver this season. Rotoworld.com

Jerry Jones said Tony Romo's Week 9 status will be based on "pain tolerance," and Romo could be a "game-time decision."

Advice: Early Wednesday, ESPN's Ed Werder passed along an "emerging possibility" that Romo "will miss time," perhaps 1-2 games. At this point, the Cowboys don't know if Romo will be available to play against the Cardinals. Ian Fitzsimmons of ESPN Radio in Dallas is "told" Tony Romo is "questionable at best" to play in Week 9 against the Cardinals after suffering a back injury in Monday night's loss to the Redskins.

Advice: Romo was in so much pain Monday night that he is likely very sore early this week, and could miss all three Cowboys practices. Per Fitzsimmons, Romo's "season is not in jeopardy," but missing Week 9 is a real possibility. The Cowboys are 6-2 and can't afford to a setback that would cost their quarterback significant time. The Saints used Mark Ingram in a near every-down role, leaving Cadet to situational work on pass downs. With Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas sidelined, Cadet is just an RB5 stash in fantasy leagues. • Mark Ingram goes off for 172 yards, TD on SNF
Mark Ingram had 24 carries for 172 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 8 win over the Packers.

Advice: He added one catch for three yards. With Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas sidelined, Ingram had his biggest workload of the season. Travaris Cadet mixed in on passing downs, but received just five touches. Ingram has looked like one of the best backs in the league when healthy, and should continue to get the majority of carries going forward. Averaging 5.7 YPC, Ingram will be an RB2 on Thursday night against the Panthers. Rotoworld.com

  • Doug Martin on trade block, Sims rising
ESPN's Adam Schefter says one reason the Bucs consider Doug Martin "expendable" is that Charles Sims (ankle) is eligible to come off IR/recall this week.

Advice: Schefter reported Sunday morning that teams have already approached the Bucs about Martin ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline. The 25-year-old back was inherited by this Lovie Smith regime, and has been among the league's worst running backs over the last two seasons. Sims, a third-round rookie, is expected to have a major role down the stretch and needs to be owned in 12-team leagues right now. Rotoworld.com

  • Michael Floyd held without a catch on Sunday
Michael Floyd had zero catches on four targets in Sunday's 24-20 win over the Eagles.

Advice: Floyd gave owners a brief scare early when Eagles CB Bradley Fletcher landed on his knee, but injury was not the issue here. Floyd was targeted on three deep balls early, narrowly missing on two of them that could have been construed as drops. Frustratingly, the Cardinals did not manufacture any catches for Floyd on more high-percentage throws, instead drawing those up for Larry Fitzgerald (7-160-1 on 10 targets). Floyd's natural ability keeps him on the WR2 radar against Dallas in Week 9, but volume is a concern. He has a total of seven targets in the last two weeks. Rotoworld.com

Cecil Shorts caught 3-of-8 targets for 41 yards in Jacksonville's Week 8 loss to the Dolphins.

Advice: Aside from Denard Robinson and Allen Robinson, no one on the Jags offense had a good day as Blake Bortles crumbled for three turnovers. One of Bortles' picks was an interception where he appeared to have no idea what route Shorts was running. Shorts also gave his owners a scare when he departed with a leg injury, but he returned after only a handful of plays. Shorts has drawn 33 targets in three games since returning to the lineup, but will be an inefficient WR3 for as long as Bortles struggles. Rotoworld.com

Coach Rex Ryan said he has "no idea" who he'll start at quarterback in Week 9.

Advice: Geno Smith's minor right shoulder issue was not the reason he was benched early in Sunday's ugly loss to the Bills. It was because he threw interceptions on three straight drives, further regressing in his second NFL season. Michael Vick came to complete 18-of-36 passes for 152 yards and an interception, adding 69 yards on eight carries. If Rex wants to win games, Vick would give him a slightly better shot. Rotoworld.com

Advice: It was a quiet day for V-Jax in a game where Mike Glennon passed for just 171 yards. Mike Evans led Tampa in receiving (78 yards), and next closest was Bobby Rainey (41). Amid trade rumors, we'd love to see Jackson get out of Tampa Bay ahead of Tuesday's deadline to deal. Advice: Kelce was targeted a team-high six times, along with Dwayne Bowe. He showed impressive YAC ability, shaking a couple Rams defenders out of their cleats on two occasions. Kelce was also stopped at the one-inch line in the second quarter before Jamaal Charles got the goal-line carry for the touchdown. Kelce remains a situational role player in Andy Reid's offense, but is still a boom-or-bust TE1. He'll be a recommended play against the Jets' inept pass defense next week. Rotoworld.com

Britt's big play was an opening-drive 43-yard pickup on 3rd-and-1 to help set up Lance Kendricks' one-yard touchdown. Britt was later the target on a deep ball in double-coverage that was intercepted. Britt will receive a boost if Quick misses extended time, but won't be more than a WR3 in Week 9 at the 49ers. Advice: Blue added a 22-yard catch. With the Texans clobbering the Titans late and Arian Foster having already piled up 173 yards and three touchdowns, Blue got plenty of run late in the fourth quarter. He's one of the top handcuffs to own as the clear No. 2 to Foster. Blue has shown enough as a rookie to where his Dynasty arrow is also pointing up. He's built like Adrian Peterson at 6'2/223. Bobby Rainey is much better in the passing game, and rookie Charles Sims is eligible to return from I.R./recall in Week 9. Martin is on the borderline of being droppable in 12- and 14-team leagues. Advice: Smith dinked and dunked his way down the field with ease against a Rams defense that was without its top two cornerbacks. He was inches away from a touchdown pass to Travis Kelce, but Kelce was stopped at the one-yard line before Jamaal Charles pounded in the score on the ground. Arian Foster rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in the Texans' 30-16, Week 8 win over the Titans, adding four catches for 22 yards and another touchdown.

Advice: Foster managed just 36 yards on his first 10 carries, but broke a 34-yard touchdown and had no trouble finding holes in the Tennessee defense from there on. Foster caught a five-yard touchdown on a little flare-out route in the third quarter before cashing in from one yard out on the ground later. Foster has now gone over 100 yards in 6-of-7 starts this season. If not for DeMarco Murray, we'd all be talking about Foster. Advice: We don't think it's likely at all. Ronnie Hillman has given Denver's offense an entirely new dimension with big-play ability on outside runs, whereas Ball struggled mightily when he was asked to move laterally. Ball was effective in a change-of-pace role behind Knowshon Moreno down the stretch last season. That may be his role upon return. Ronnie Hillman rushed 20 times for 109 yards in the Broncos' Week 8 win over the Chargers, catching 3-of-4 targets for an additional 29 yards.

Advice: The 138 yards from scrimmage were Hillman's most in his three games as starter, but it's his amazingly-bad touchdown luck that will have owners talking on Friday. Hillman had five potential scores wiped away by happenstance and shenanigans. In no particular order, Hillman: Lost a touchdown by stepping out of bounds, had a score wiped out by holding, lost a shot at a goal-line carry thanks to a botched snap and watched Juwan Thompson vulture not one, but two TDs. The good news, if you want to look at it that way, is that Hillman was in position for so many touchdowns, and continues to run circles around the work Montee Ball did before going down with a groin injury. • Vincent Jackson (ribs) practicing in pads
Vincent Jackson (ribs) practiced in pads on Thursday.

Advice: He remained "limited." Either way, Jackson's health is not a question mark for Week 8. He'll be good to go as a WR2 against the Vikings. Rotoworld.com

  • Owen Daniels (knee) misses another practice
Owen Daniels (knee) remained out of Ravens practice Thursday.

Advice: Daniels' Wednesday absence wasn't a concern as he's been getting "veteran days" all season, but his Week 8 prospects are now a bit muddled. It's still most likely that the Ravens are just taking it easy on Daniels as he nurses a minor injury, but his status can't be taken for granted. The situation will be updated on Friday. • Gruden says RG3 will be back Wk 11 at latest
Coach Jay Gruden would "guarantee...most likely" that Robert Griffin III (ankle) returns for the Week 11 game against the Bucs.

Advice: There's still a chance Griffin returns for Week 9 at Minnesota, but holding him out through the Week 10 bye is firmly on Gruden's radar. "You've got a good bye week, you've got a couple weeks to make sure it's ready. ... You know, it's a very difficult position to play, and just because he's healthy, he hasn't taken a meaningful rep in about six weeks," Gruden said. All we know right now is that Colt McCoy will almost certainly start in Dallas on Monday night, making the Cowboys an excellent D/ST streamer. Rotoworld.com

  • Travaris Cadet on track for bigger role
Travaris Cadet will likely be "heavily involved" in the pass game Sunday.

Advice: Pierre Thomas (shoulder) is not expected to play and Jimmy Graham (shoulder) could be limited again. Cadet, a strict passing back, has been integrated into the gameplan early over the last three weeks anyway, posting a 15-129-1 line through the air. Owners in full-PPR leagues could stream Cadet into their lineups and safely project 4-6 catches in a game that has the week's highest over/under (56). Rotoworld.com

  • Travis Kelce (ribs) limited on Wednesday
Travis Kelce (ribs) was limited in Chiefs' practice Wednesday.

Advice: Kelce is day to day with rib soreness. It's not something that should sideline him for Week 8, but could impact his snap count. Kelce's status will be updated again on Thursday. Rotoworld.com

  • Arian Foster limited on Wednesday
Arian Foster was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Advice: The Texans listed Foster as "not injury related," but he missed practice time last week with a groin issue. Foster has a matchup with the Titans' No. 22 ranked run defense in Week 8. Rotoworld.com

Kenny Britt (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

Advice: Britt suffered the injury in Sunday's win over Seattle, but was able to return. The Rams are likely holding him out for rest purposes. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: 'No chance' RG3 plays MNF vs. Dallas
Dianna Marie Russini of NBC Washington reports there's "NO chance" Robert Griffin III (ankle) plays Monday night's Week 8 game against the Cowboys.

Advice: RGIII took the first rep at Wednesday's practice, but the Redskins don't start their official practice week until Thursday this week because of Monday night's game. Coach Jay Gruden made Colt McCoy instead of RGIII available to the media, and said he wants to have a starter in place by Thursday afternoon, suggesting it will be McCoy. RGIII will shoot for a Week 9 return at Minnesota. Rotoworld.com

  • Charles Sims (ankle) cleared for practice
Bucs RB Charles Sims (ankle) is practicing Wednesday.

Advice: Barring any setbacks, Sims could return in Week 9. He's a candidate for the Bucs' third-down role immediately and could eat into the workload of Doug Martin before too long. Martin, inherited by the Lovie Smith regime, hasn't played good football since 2012. Rotoworld.com

  • Blue totals 25 yards, TD on six touches
Alfred Blue rushed for 14 yards on five carries and caught an 11-yard touchdown in the Texans' Week 7 loss to the Steelers.

Advice: Blue was the vulture on the opening-drive 11-yard score after Arian Foster managed 59 rushing yards to get the Texans near the goal line. Foster is an every-down back, leaving just a handful of touches for Blue weekly, but Blue is one of the top handcuffs to own thanks to Foster's recent injury history. Rotoworld.com
