  • Case Keenum, Savage both will stick
The Texans are expected to carry three quarterbacks on their 53-man roster.

Eagles K Alex Henery is 1-of-3 on field goals this preseason.

The Philadelphia Inquirer is projecting Chris Polk to stick on the final roster.

Advice: Both Jeff McLane and Zach Berman have the Eagles keeping the same four running backs on their 53: LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles, Polk and Kenjon Barner. It leaves Matthew Tucker and Henry Josey as practice squad candidates. Polk, who is back practicing despite a nasty hamstring pull, projects as the primary runner should anything happen to McCoy this season. Rotoworld.com

  • Hammond likely to start in place of Bowe Wk 1
Frankie Hammond is expected to start in place of Dwayne Bowe (suspension) Week 1.

Advice: Hammond, a 2013 UDFA out of Florida that spent last season on the practice squad, has been Bowe's direct backup at "Z" throughout camp. He's also been solid in preseason games, catching six passes for 90 yards on 86 snaps. It's a nice story, but it speaks to the striking lack of depth and talent the Chiefs have in their wide receiver room. If they want to have any kind of passing attack against the Titans, they'll install Gronkonian tight end Travis Kelce as a primary receiving option. Donnie Avery remains the starting "X." • John Brown in line for 60 % of AZ's snaps?
Coach Bruce Arians believes third-round WR John Brown could play up to 60 percent of the Cardinals' offensive snaps.

Advice: That would be more than enough to put Brown on the fantasy radar. As NFL.com's Chris Wesseling points out, T.Y. Hilton played 57 percent of the Colts' snaps as a rookie for Arians in 2012. Hilton is a player to whom Brown has been frequently compared. The source of constant praise from his coach and GM Steve Keim, Brown has 10 catches for 165 yards and a touchdown through three preseason games. He's shaping up as a viable late-round flier. Rams placed QB Sam Bradford on injured reserve with a torn left ACL, ending his season.

Advice: As NFL.com's Albert Breer points out, it means Bradford will have missed 41 of a possible 93 games since his Heisman Trophy-winning season at Oklahoma. In five NFL seasons, he's appeared in more than 10 games just twice. Bradford is due $12.985 million next season, but is highly unlikely to be back in St. Louis at that number. Still only 27 (in November), Bradford has time to turn his career around, but it's looking like a major missed opportunity. Rotoworld.com

Lyerla is a plus athlete at 6'4/247 with 4.61 speed. But we wouldn't expect teams to come knocking down his door after Lyerla wasn't claimed off waivers the first time. • Pats acquire TE Wright from Bucs for Mankins
Patriots acquired TE Tim Wright and a 2015 fourth-round pick from the Bucs in exchange for LG Logan Mankins.

Advice: The Patriots had a bit of a logjam on their interior line, and needed help at "move" tight end. Wright is a natural fit to potentially fill the old Aaron Hernandez role. He's a former college receiver who caught 54 balls for 571 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie last season. This move puts Wright squarely on the fantasy TE2 radar. We don't believe it has anything to do with Rob Gronkowski's availability for Week 1, however, as Gronk and Wright play inherently different positions. Wright is a "flex" tight end, while Gronk plays the "in-line" role. The Pats will move RG Dan Connolly to left guard. Ryan Wendell is at center. Marcus Cannon is the right guard. Rotoworld.com

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Bob McGinn writes that DuJuan Harris has made a push for the Packers' No. 2 running back job, and "it's anyone's guess" if it's Harris or James Starks.

Advice: "That's a question that has yet to be determined," said RBs coach Sam Gash. Harris lost a fumble in the Pack's second preseason game. He came back and exploded for 98 yards on 14 touches in Friday's dress rehearsal against the Raiders. Harris and Starks mixed in with the second-team offense after Lacy left the game. John Brown caught four passes for 56 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's preseason game against the Bengals.

Advice: Brown appears to have sewn up the No. 3 wideout job, as he comes in on three-wide sets and kicks Larry Fitzgerald into the slot. The third-round rookie out of Pittsburg State has certainly earned it by buzzing throughout offseason practices and putting up a 10-165-1 line in three preseason games. There are some T.Y. Hilton comparisons here as Brown goes 5'11/179 but ran a 4.34. He's creeping onto our flier lists in 14- and 16-team leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Rams lose Sam Bradford to re-torn left ACL
Sam Bradford is done for the season after re-tearing his left ACL in Saturday night's preseason game against the Browns.

Advice: Bradford's to-date career performance suggests this isn't quite the crippling blow to St. Louis' offense it may be perceived as, but it certainly hurts. Bradford will enter 2015 having missed 31 of 80 possible games in his career, and coming off back-to-back left ACL tears with a roughly $13 million base salary. The Rams will turn to longtime NFL backup Shaun Hill, whose 6.7 career YPA and 61.9 completion rate are both superior to Bradford's marks, but who hasn't made a start since 2010. Keep in mind Bradford is still only 26 years old; he turns 27 in November. If the Rams are forced to cut him next offseason -- they currently have the least salary cap space in football -- he'd be a worthwhile flier for a quarterback-needy team. This year, the Rams are going to pound the ball with Zac Stacy and to a lesser extent Benny Cunningham. Rotoworld.com

He writhed around for a few moments before heading to the sideline under his own power. He departed for the locker room after a short examination. Standing in at 6-foot-4, 247 pounds with 4.61 wheels, Lyerla is a potential mismatch. He only went undrafted because of (admittedly serious) character concerns.
