  • Marshawn's agent calls 'bus' report bogus
Marshawn Lynch's agent called the report of his client "almost not getting on the team bus" to head to St. Louis after learning of Percy Harvin's trade "bogus."

Advice: The New York Daily News' Manish Mehta had the original report, saying Lynch "went off" before almost not boarding the bus. It was a stupid "story" from the beginning anyway. Lynch ended up rushing for 53 yards on 18 carries against the Rams. But he had a 15-yard touchdown and 18-yard run called back on penalties. Lynch is locked in as a workhorse RB1 for Week 8 against the Panthers. Carolina is allowing the 3rd-most fantasy points to running backs. Rotoworld.com

WGR 550 Buffalo cautions "(not to) be surprised" if Anthony Dixon leads the Bills' running back committee this weekend.

Advice: Ace reporter Joe Buscaglia knows "everyone is waiting for Bryce Brown to be unleashed," but says the Bills "love" Dixon. Dixon himself is under the impression that he'll be the lead man, but hard answers could be hard to come by before Buffalo takes on the Jets. Brown is the more talented player. Ray Rice's appeal of his indefinite suspension has been set for November 5-6.

The Broncos promoted RB Kapri Bibbs from the practice squad before he was drawing interest from the Bills.

Advice: Bibbs' promotion raised eyebrows since the Broncos already have Montee Ball, C.J. Anderson, Juwan Thompson and Ronnie Hillman on the 53-man roster, but they didn't want to lose Bibbs to Buffalo. An undrafted rookie out of Colorado State, Bibbs is a power back at 5-foot-9, 212 pounds with 4.67 wheels. He's unlikely to get work outside special teams on Sundays. Rotoworld.com

Bills placed RB C.J. Spiller (broken collarbone) on injured reserve/designated to return.

Advice: Spiller can resume practicing in six weeks, but won't be eligible for game action until Week 16. There's obviously a (strong?) chance the Bills are already eliminated from playoff contention by then, but they were running out of time to use their I.R./return spot. There's really no downside to stashing Spiller in the hope that he can return to a team that will be in the thick of the playoff race with two weeks to go. Terrance West was benched after failing to pick up a first down on a pair of second-quarter carries in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville.

Advice: West was actually playing ahead of Isaiah Crowell to open the game. He had room to run in both critical short-yardage situations, but tried to do too much. "I missed it," he said. "Wish I could get it back. ... I know I've got limited reps. So I know when I'm in a game, I'm trying to get a big play." • Whaley thought Brown had star potential
Bills GM Doug Whaley traded for Bryce Brown because he felt the former Eagle had the potential to be a star.

Advice: Whaley gave up a fourth-round pick to get Brown this summer, relatively steep compensation by NFL standards. Note that Brown was the unquestioned No. 1 high school player in the country coming out, getting compared to Reggie Bush by Lane Kiffin. He has 4.48 speed at 6'0/220 and is excellent in the pass game. As the Buffalo News speculates, Brown will at worst be a "co-feature back" with Anthony Dixon while Fred Jackson (groin) is out. He's a plug-n-play RB2 with potential to stick in the C.J. Spiller role even once F-Jax returns. Just note that the Bills face the Jets' rugged run defense this week and then have a bye in Week 9. Speaking Monday, Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Alfred Morris "missed some cuts" in Sunday's win over the Titans, and isn't working "in concert" with the offensive line.

Advice: Morris is averaging just 3.82 yards per carry, and has yet to have a 100-yard day on the ground this season. He's averaging 63 weekly yards. Although the absence of Robert Griffin III (ankle) has been an obvious hindrance for the Redskins' ground attack, it doesn't fully explain Morris losing nearly an entire yard off his YPC. Advice: Benny Cunningham played 19 snaps and Zac Stacy got one. It's clear that Mason has surged to the front of the pile here as the most talented natural runner and is a must-add, but there are major concerns -- most notably in the form of game flow. Mason is a zero in the pass game, which we know is a red flag when a team gets behind. See Andre Williams, Alfred Morris and even Marshawn Lynch for evidence of that. • F-Jax on Bryce Brown: He's an every-down back
When asked about Bryce Brown, Fred Jackson said he's "an every-down back."

Advice: "We won't miss a beat," Jackson said. Although Anthony Dixon is under the impression he'll be a workhorse now, he's more likely to stick in a big back and special teams role while serving as the complement. Brown struggled with fumbles and bouncing too many runs outside as an Eagle, but is excellent in the pass game and has serious juice in his legs. On 190 career NFL carries, he's produced 878 yards (4.62 YPC) and six touchdowns. With C.J. Spiller out for the season and F-Jax sidelined as much as a month, Brown is a plug-n-play RB2. It's unclear if he has a serious pull or the trainers are just playing it safe with the game in hand. Before the injury, Richardson actually looked really spry, repeatedly using the R1 button to juke away from defenders and showing good skills in the pass game. He finished with 14 carries for 77 yards and four catches for 41 yards. It's the first time T-Rich went over 100 total yards all season. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the initial diagnosis is a broken collarbone for C.J. Spiller.

Advice: It's terrible news for the Bills, who also lost Fred Jackson to a groin injury on Sunday. If true, Spiller would likely be sidelined for at least six weeks. Buffalo is down to Anthony Dixon as their only healthy running back against the Vikings. Bryce Brown should be active for the first time next week and is a must-add in all formats. Rotoworld.com

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys had interest in trading for C.J. Spiller last season.

Advice: Spiller's going to be a hot name over the next 7-10 days with the trade deadline coming on October 28. The Bills don't know how to use him, the Cowboys could be looking for a dynamic change-of-pace for workhorse DeMarco Murray in preparation for a playoff run, and Spiller is in the final year of his contract. • 'No guarantee' Bryce Brown will play in 2014
According to ESPN's Adam Caplan, "there's no guarantee" Bryce Brown will play at all for the Bills this season.

Advice: Brown doesn't play special teams, so he's technically Buffalo's No. 4 running back behind Fred Jackson, C.J. Spiller, and Anthony Dixon. The Bills traded a fourth-round pick to acquire Brown this offseason. It's fair to wonder if they're regretting that decision now. Brown remains a hold in Dynasty leagues, but he's barely worth a roster spot in 14- and 16-team re-draft formats. He needs F-Jax or Spiller to suffer an injury to get active. Rotoworld.com

ESPN's Adam Caplan reports the Bills plan to get C.J. Spiller more involved this week.

Advice: Spiller played just 12 snaps last week, and was benched for most of the second half after losing a fumble. It confirms an earlier report that the BIlls want to keep feeding Spiller, and have no plans to reduce his workload. Spiller has potential to have a big game against a Vikings defense that's allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. He's a high-upside RB3/FLEX. Rotoworld.com

Spiller's Week 6 snap total was the result of getting benched for most of the second half after losing a fumble. He'll have a chance to get back on track against a Vikings defense that's allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Coach Doug Marrone said he believes C.J. Spiller is "pressing" and that he's "looking for the home run."

Advice: Spiller is only playing about one-third of the offensive snaps, so it's hard to blame him for trying to make big plays. Unfortunately, the Bills offensive coaches have zero clue how to use the 27-year-old and insist on banging him between the tackles. It's translated to a meager 3.44 YPC and zero touchdowns on 68 totes. He hasn't found the end zone since a catch-and-run score in Week 1. We selfishly can't wait for Spiller to escape Buffalo. Ryan Mathews (MCL) still hasn't been cleared to resume running.

Advice: Exactly one month removed from his MCL sprain, Mathews won't play in Week 7 and doesn't sound like a lock for Week 8, either. The Chargers' bye isn't until Week 10. "When they think it's time for me to start running, then it's time to start running," Mathews said, referring to team doctors. "It's all in their hands." San Diego's Week 8 game against Denver is on a Thursday night, meaning the turnaround will be quick following Sunday's Week 7 game, reducing the chances of a Mathews return. Making his NFL debut, Rams rookie RB Tre Mason rushed for 40 yards on five carries in St. Louis' Week 6 loss to San Francisco on Monday night, adding one catch for 12 yards.

Advice: Mason had been a healthy scratch each of the first four games of the season. He entered the game in the first quarter, taking the place of Trey Watts as the No. 3 back behind Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham. Mason turned his first NFL touch into a 12-yard gain in the red zone. His first carry went for 27 yards and would have likely gone for a touchdown if Brian Quick hadn't gotten in the way downfield. Mason showed that it's clear he has the most talent as a runner in the Rams' backfield. He only had back-to-back carries once the entire day and was predictably very effective on a per-play basis. The Seahawks coaches are going to kick themselves when they review the tape on this one. • Juwan Thompson rushes for 38 yards vs. Jets
Broncos RB Juwan Thompson ran as Ronnie Hillman's backup in Denver's Week 6 win over the Jets, rushing eight times for 38 yards.

Advice: Thompson wasn't targeted in the passing game, but was Hillman's clear No. 2. C.J. Anderson didn't receive a touch. Five of Thompson's touches came on one third-quarter drive. In other words, though he's Hillman's No. 2, he was used more as a breather back than short-yardage specialist. There isn't much re-draft appeal here as the Broncos wait for Montee Ball (groin) to get healthy. Rotoworld.com

  • LeGarrette Blount rushes for 27 yards
LeGarrette Blount rushed eight times for 27 yards in Pittsburgh's Week 6 loss to the Browns.

Advice: Blount got a goal-line carry on 3rd-and-3 from the Browns' three-yard line in the first quarter, but could muster only a yard. Blount has received just 37 totes at Le'Veon Bell's expense through the season's first six games, but even that has been too many. He's a touchdown-dependent RB4 who has only two scores. • Terrance West was a true healthy scratch
Coach Mike Pettine confirmed Terrance West was a true healthy scratch in Sunday's Week 6 game against the Steelers.

Advice: West has fallen far behind Isaiah Crowell. Pettine simply said that West needs to improve and that it comes down to practice. Owners can move along. Rotoworld.com

  • Bush says he '100 percent' plays next week
Reggie Bush (ankle) said he "100 percent" plays in Week 7.

Advice: The Lions get Bush's former team the Saints next, so there is little doubt he would like to play. It is important to remember Bush was very optimistic about his chances of playing against the Vikings Week 6, but ultimately missed practice all week and was inactive for the game. His status will be updated when the Lions open practice on Wednesday. Rotoworld.com

  • Denard Robinson gets 8 touches in Week 6
Denard Robinson managed 22 yards on five carries and three catches for 14 yards in the Jaguars' Week 6 loss to Tennessee.

Advice: The Jaguars started in a two-back set with Shoelace and Storm Johnson on the field together. Robinson was mixed in only as a change-of-pace back, however, with Johnson operating as the Jaguars' clear lead runner. After a few nice early-game gains on quick-hitting pass routes, Robinson was thrown for a loss of three on a screen attempt late in the third quarter. An RBBC back on a team that doesn't run the ball well, Robinson is an RB5 in fantasy. Rotoworld.com

Lions RB Theo Riddick exited the Lions' Week 6 game against the Vikings with a hamstring injury.

Advice: Riddick missed last weeks game with a hamstring injury. He is doubtful to return. Riddick had five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game. Rotoworld.com

  • RB Terrance West a surprise healthy scratch
Browns declared RB Terrance West inactive for Sunday's Week 6 game against the Steelers.

Advice: West, the third-round rookie, is a surprise healthy scratch. It means Isaiah Crowell has stretched out a big lead for the No. 2 job behind workhorse Ben Tate. Special teamer Glenn Winston will serve as the No. 3 RB Sunday. The Browns did declare Joe Haden (hip) and Paul Kruger (back) active. The rest of their inactives: WR Rodney Smith, DE Billy Winn, DE Phil Taylor, CB Pierre Desir, RB Terrance West, NT Rubin (ankle) and TE G Robinson. Rotoworld.com

  • Bush, Calvin among Lions' Week 6 inactives
Lions declared RB Reggie Bush, WR Calvin Johnson, TE Joseph Fauria, LB Travis Lewis, QB Kellen Moore, DE Larry Webster and T Garrett Reynolds inactive for Week 6 against the Vikings.

Advice: Bush originally downplayed the ankle injury that forced him from the Lions Week 5 loss to the Bills, but he did not practice at all this week and never looked likely to play. His status moving forward is unknown. Fauria (ankle) and Lewis (quad) are week to week. Rotoworld.com
