  • Cam Newton wins 2015 Most Valuable Player
Associated Press named Cam Newton its 2015 Most Valuable Player.

Advice: Newton was the clear MVP frontrunner, throwing for 3,837 yards and a 35:10 TD/INT ratio in the regular season. He rushed for 636 yards (4.8 YPC) and 10 touchdowns, making him the first player in history to post 30-plus pass touchdowns and 10 rushing TDs. Newton’s career highs came without top WR Kelvin Benjamin for the entire year. His play elevated a middling cast to a 15-win season and Super Bowl appearance. Newton won MVP in a landslide, getting 48 first-place votes. He also beat Antonio Brown (10 votes) for Offensive Player of the Year. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:48 pm

He led all rookies in yards (1,106), yards per carry (4.8) and touchdowns (10). Gurley also ranked fourth in yards per game and finished behind only Doug Martin in 20-plus yard runs. • Sly denies investigators were to intimidate
Charlie Sly, the main source of the Al Jazeera documentary which alleges Peyton Manning used HGH, does not believe the investigators the Manning camp sent to his parents' house were intended to intimidate him into cooperation.

Advice: The Washington Post reported Manning's lawyers sent investigators to the house prior to the documentary airing. The men allegedly worried Sly's sister enough for her to call police, but Sly had nothing but good things to say about the investigators. "Those guys were great guys," Sly said. That's a decision that will be made by the coach, the coaching staff and personnel." Blank added the organization is still in the process of evaluating the roster. • Cowboys would want Murray on reworked deal
ESPN Cowboys reporter Todd Archer believes Dallas would be interested in bringing back DeMarco Murray "if the numbers are reworked."

Advice: Murray said he wants to remain with the Eagles, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Murray and the organization "are not in a good place." The contract is an obstacle, but it is highly unlikely Dallas will get a shot at Murray regardless. The guaranteed money in Murray's deal makes cutting him difficult, and trades between division rivals rarely happen. • Archie and Eli weigh in on Peyton's retirement
Archie and Eli Manning think switching teams could be a deal breaker for Peyton Manning.

"But I think that was going to be a lot of drama, again, to change teams, that he didn't want to go through. He did do that once, so I don't know that he would want to do that." Eli agreed that playing for a different team would be "tough" for Peyton. All signs are pointing to Sunday being Peyton's last game. Billy Turner and Dallas Thomas were two of the worst guards in football, while Jason Fox was a nightmare filling in for injured RT Ja’Wuan James. Advice: Beat writer James Kratch isn't sure if the Giants even want Randle back, but he also suspects Randle will get more money from another team than the Giants will be willing to pay. Randle seemed to frustrate ex-coach Tom Coughlin a great deal, but it's unclear how OC-turned-coach Ben McAdoo felt about the 24-year-old. • Report: Rams keeping eye on Peyton Manning
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Rams "have had internal discussions" about signing Peyton Manning and are "monitoring the situation."

Advice: The Rams are desperate for quarterback help, and nothing screams making a splash in their return to L.A. like signing Manning, even if he is merely a shell of his former self. And that may be generous. Manning turns 40 next month, and he and coach Jeff Fisher have a history dating back to AFC South battles between Fisher's Titans and Manning's Colts. The Broncos hold a $19 million option on Manning for 2016, but most expect them to move on after Manning battled injury and interceptions this season, leading to a 67.9 QB rating. Head coach Adam Gase is excited to work with him while new OC Clyde Christensen recently said his job is to be Tannehill's "ally." The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette said the Steelers will not make a "break-bank offer" to Le'Veon Bell (MCL, PCL) this offseason.

Advice: "I think they will make him an offer this year," wrote Bouchette, "but ... It won't be a break-bank offer if they do." Entering his contract year, Bell has failed to finish the last two seasons due to knee injuries, and also fractured his foot as a rookie. Bell is owed under $1 million in 2016, while the Steelers could theoretically franchise tag Le'Veon in 2017. Don't expect a long-term extension this offseason. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 4:08 pm
