Fantasy football owners will accept any point margin to keep a win streak alive, but if you are able to win in a commanding fashion, it makes the streak all the more sweet. That is what Football Girl accomplished this week when they put up the second-highest point total this week, and won their third win in a row to defeat RWHS 18 116.58 to 92.81. Football Girl has been racing to the top like a rocket during their win streak. They've moved from 11th place to second since Week 3. They're doing it by scoring a lot of points and they own the third-highest overall point total in the league, averaging 105.40 points per matchup. With Eric Decker literally not showing up for Football Girl, it could have been worse. RWHS 18 falls to seventh place with a 3-2 record. Football Girl has recently knocked over Seip's Hit Men (97.85 to 76.18) and Comish (111.07 to 102.81).

    Smooth Moves by Football Girl

    • The 20.00 points scored by Phil Dawson was the second-highest K score of the week and is the second-highest K score in the league this season.
    • Put WR Stevie Johnson on the bench, where he scored 6.90 points, fewer than any WR in the starting lineup.
    • With 23.20 points, Pierre Thomas ranked fourth in scoring among all RBs in the league this week.
    • With 16.00 points, Rob Gronkowski ranked fourth in the league this week in scoring among TEs.
    • Those were the projections? We thought that was the starting point. 6 of the 9 starters on Football Girl exceeded their projected points.

    Toyota Missed Opportunities

    • Remember that thing RWHS 18 did instead of reading the expert articles from the Hall Of Fame? Shouldn't have done that.
    • Should have started Riley Cooper, who beat his scoring projection with 9.30 points against a projected 5.03.
    • The 6.55 points scored by the Seattle Seahawks Defense fell short of their 14.45-point projection, the fourth straight game where that has happened.
    • A heated blanket would be a great gift for Marques Colston during this cold streak. He scored below his projection in four straight games after scoring 6.30 points against a projected 8.00 this week.
    • Football Girl saw their RBs beat those on RWHS 18 26.50 - 4.20.

    What If

    • Football Girl would be 4-1 if they played RWHS 18 every week.
    • Football Girl would have beaten nine other teams besides RWHS 18 this week.
    • Were they resting their players for this week? Football Girl would have defeated RWHS 18 111.07 - 75.32 had they played each other last week.
    • Football Girl would be 3-1 if they played the same schedule as RWHS 18.
    • If Football Girl had played every team in the league each week, they would be 38-17.
    • RWHS 18 would have lost to five other teams besides Football Girl this week.
    • If they played the same schedule as Football Girl, RWHS 18 would be 0-4.
    • RWHS 18 would be 21-34 if they played every team every week.

    Game Notes

    • RWHS 18 scored 92.81 points against a projected 101.23 and has underachieved every week this season.
    • Football Girl is on the longest active win streak in the league, winning three straight games.
    • Abe Lincoln once said, "You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves." Somebody tell Peyton Manning that. His 38.96 points led the league and was the third-most points scored this season, but RWHS 18 could not get the win.
    • C.J. Spiller scored a season-low 3.30 points and underachieved for the fourth straight week.
    • The margin of victory of 23.77 points was the biggest of the season for Football Girl.
    • RWHS 18 got a combined 4.20 points from their RBs, their lowest combined scoring output from the RB position this season.
    • The 116.58 points scored by Football Girl is their highest score of the season and the 10th-highest in the league this season.
    • The loss snapped a three-game win streak by RWHS 18.

    Fantasy MasterpiecesWeek 5

Miles Austin Dal - WR 2009 vs. Kansas City 10 receptions, 250 yards, 2 TDs Before Miles Austin gained .142 miles against the Chiefs in early October of '09, he had only topped 45 receiving yards just one other time in his career to that point.

To say that Austin broke out that day in Kansas City would be an understatement. Austin averaged just north of 20 yards per game in his first four contests of '09, but from Week 5 to Week 17, there was no fantasy WR better than Austin, who averaged 103.3 receiving yards and scored 10 times in that 12-game span.
Each week of the season we will bring you the top fantasy football performances of the past 10+ years for that week.
