The Atlanta Journal-Sentinel expects Jacquizz Rodgers -- not Devonta Freeman -- to handle the "bulk of the carries" in Week 17 against the Panthers.

Advice: Quizz is also expected to start. We're betting on a 60:40 or 55:45 split between Rodgers and Freeman, with Rodgers playing a bit more and handling a few more touches. Freeman offers more upside because he has more big-play ability, but in a season-long league neither would be considered more than a flex option. Rotoworld.com

Advice: The Panthers reportedly remain concerned with Williams' inability to pass block sufficiently while playing through a broken hand. Jacquizz Rodgers is expected to be the Falcons' starting running back in Week 17 against the Panthers.

Advice: Devonta Freeman will rotate in. Rodgers is a superior pass protector and will likely play more snaps than Freeman, just as he did following Steven Jackson's Week 16 injury. Freeman possesses more upside, but "Quizz" may be a better bet for usage. The situation is a tricky one to navigate in Week 17 fantasy leagues. Rodgers is priced cheaper on daily sites than Freeman. The Giants expect Larry Donnell to take another big leap forward in 2015.

Advice: Per ESPN's Dan Graziano, the Giants believe in Donnell as a long-term starting tight end. They think he'll "develop into a dynamic player who is a huge part of Ben McAdoo's offense." Donnell got off to a torrid start to the season, scoring six touchdowns the first 11 weeks. But the past five games, Donnell has averaged just three catches for 32 yards per game with zero scores. With Victor Cruz returning to full health behind Odell Beckham in 2015, Donnell should be no higher than No. 3 in line for targets. He'll have to make his hay in the red zone. Rotoworld.com

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Drew Stanton (knee) underwent surgery to clear an infection and may miss the remainder of the season.

Advice: The infection was discovered Wednesday, and Stanton immediately underwent surgery. Prior to that, he had been recovering well from his sprained MCL and ACL with an eye on returning for the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. The Cardinals will be forced to ride Ryan Lindley as a far as he can take them, which will likely be one-and-done in the postseason. It's a shame for an 11-4 team. Rotoworld.com

Ronnie Hillman (foot) practiced in full Wednesday for the first time since his Week 10 injury.

Advice: Hillman practiced on a limited basis last week, but was ruled inactive on Monday night against the Bengals. The Broncos often make their injured players practice for two weeks before activating them. So we'd consider Hillman on track to play against the Raiders in Week 17, serving as one of C.J. Vereen found himself in a three-man committee with Jonas Gray and Brandon Bolden, with six of his touches coming on one third-quarter series. Rodgers ran hard as he always does, but there is simply not enough talent in his legs to be a feature back. Advice: Freeman busted through a seam on the right side of the Falcons' line, made the safety miss and raced 31-yards to the house to give the Falcons a 20-7 lead in the third quarter. It was probably the most impressive run by a Falcons back this season, but the coaching staff still limited Freeman's touches even with Steven Jackson (quad) sidelined. • Dwayne Bowe expected to play Sunday
Dwayne Bowe (illness, questionable) didn't practice all week, but is expected to play Sunday against Pittsburgh.

Advice: Coach Andy Reid said he's planning on having Bowe out there against the Steelers. Pittsburgh is without SS Troy Polamalu and LCB Ike Taylor. If Bowe were ever going to score a touchdown, this week is as good a bet as any. Rotoworld.com

    • Stanton might back up Lindley vs. Seahawks
Cardinals coach Bruce Arians suggested Friday that Drew Stanton (knee, doubtful) could be active for Sunday's game versus Seattle to serve as Ryan Lindley's backup.

Advice: Arians confirmed Lindley will start. Stanton is dealing with ACL and MCL sprains in his knee, but the Cardinals obviously have very little confidence in rookie Logan Thomas. We still don't see any scenario where Stanton plays. Rotoworld.com

    • Drew Stanton 'does nothing' in practice
Drew Stanton (sprained ACL, MCL) "did nothing" during the portion of practice that is open to the media Friday.

Advice: The Cardinals listed Stanton as "limited" in Thursday's practice, but there's no way he's playing on Sunday Night Football. Perhaps the Cards were trying to create the illusion he might start ahead of a division game versus Seattle. Rotoworld.com

    • DeAngelo Williams expected to miss Week 16
Panthers coach Ron Rivera indicated Friday that DeAngelo Williams (questionable, hand) will not play Sunday at Cleveland.

Advice: Rivera left open the possibility of Williams being active on game day as an "emergency back," but he's not going to be a factor unless other running backs get injured during the game. Jonathan Stewart is an RB2 against the Browns' weak run defense. Mike Tolbert will be second in line for backfield work. Rotoworld.com

    • Tony Moeaki (shoulder) sitting on Thursday
Seahawks TE Tony Moeaki (shoulder) has yet to resume practicing.

Advice: The oft-injured tight end is looking like he's going to miss Week 16. Unless the Seahawks are 100 percent confident it's a day-to-day injury, Moeaki will be a strong candidate for injured reserve. Rotoworld.com

    • Drew Stanton surprisingly back at practice
Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (sprained ACL, MCL) returned to practice Thursday, getting in a limited session.

Advice: It's an eye-brow raiser, but there's still little reason to believe Stanton will be ready to return just 10 days after spraining his knee. The Cardinals are likely just trying to confuse the situation for the Seahawks. It is a sign, however, that Week 17 could be a realistic possibility. Stanton's status will be updated on Friday, but we fully expect Ryan Lindley to be under center for Week 16. Rotoworld.com

    • Ronnie Hillman (foot) limited on Thursday
Ronnie Hillman (foot) was limited in Thursday's practice.

Advice: Hillman remains day to day. Juwan Thompson (hip, knee) sat out Thursday's practice, leaving C.J. Anderson's Week 16 backup up in the air. Rotoworld.com

Shane Vereen (ankle) remained limited on Thursday.

Advice: Vereen will play against the Jets, but can't be counted on for more than 6-8 touches. He's an uninspiring RB3. Rotoworld.com

49ers RB Carlos Hyde (ankle, back) remained sidelined Thursday.

Advice: Hyde has already said he'd need a "miracle" to suit up against the Chargers on Saturday. With Frank Gore (concussion) also looking shaky, the 49ers could be forced to roll with Bruce Miller and Alfonso Smith at running back. Rotoworld.com

    • D-Will gets in another 'limited' practice
DeAngelo Williams (hand) remained limited in Thursday's practice.

Advice: Barring a setback, D-Will should return after a two-game absence, though the Panthers aren't sure how he'll fare in the passing game. In theory, he'll cut into Jonathan Stewart's workload, but we wouldn't be surprised if Williams is nothing more than a breather option for J-Stew, who has run well in Williams' absence. D-Will is not on the fantasy radar for Week 16. Rotoworld.com

    • Dwayne Bowe misses another practice
Dwayne Bowe (flu) is not practicing Thursday.

Advice: Bowe also sat out Wednesday's session. He'll likely be fine for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh, but is a WR4 even in ideal matchups like this one. Bowe has zero touchdowns in 13 games played this season. Rotoworld.com

    • Broncos hoping Hillman returns to field soon
The Broncos hope to have Ronnie Hillman (foot) back "if not this week at Cincinnati then in the season finale."

Advice: The Broncos could put Hillman to use as a complement to C.J. Anderson, who's averaged an unruly 27.25 carries per game over the past month. Shifty and quick, Hillman would make more sense as a true change-of-pace than Juwan Thompson, who is a big back like Anderson. Even if Hillman plays Monday night at Cincinnati, it would be a surprise if he handled more than 7-9 touches. Rotoworld.com

    • Carlos Hyde needs a miracle to play Saturday
Carlos Hyde (ankle, back) said he does not expect to play in Saturday's game against the Chargers barring a miracle.

Advice: Despite receiving good news following an MRI, it doesn't look like Hyde is going to be able to go on this short week. It's terrible timing, as Frank Gore (concussion) is in serious doubt as well. It's certainly possible the 49ers will be forced to roll with Alfonso Smith and Phillip Tanner at running back Saturday. • Hyde, Gore both remain sidelined Wednesday
Carlos Hyde (ankle, back) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.

Advice: Frank Gore (concussion) also remained out on Wednesday. The 49ers are on a short week with a game against the Chargers on Saturday night. With both Hyde and Gore uncertain for Week 16, the 49ers signed RB Phillip Tanner on Wednesday. Alfonso Smith and Tanner are the lone healthy backs on the roster. Rotoworld.com

    • Carlos Hyde misses practice Tuesday
Carlos Hyde (ankle, back) did not practice Tuesday.

Advice: Hyde hurt both his ankle and back on a third-quarter play against the Seahawks. With Frank Gore (concussion) also sidelined, Alfonso Smith and FB Bruce Miller are the only other ball-carriers on the roster. We'd consider Hyde more likely than Gore to play Saturday night against the Chargers. Rotoworld.com
