Commish Updates

On the eve of our leagues Fantasy Football draft, I want to welcome back all of last years 12 teams and welcome in 2 new teams (The Phinatics) led by Cesar, and (Rum Pirates) led by Victor, Welcome gentlemen.

Here are some changes to the our upcoming season:
    1. We will be broken up into 2 divisions.
    2. The draft order will be determined by randomly picking a team name out of a hat. This will be done tonight, Friday August 22nd, with the entire process filmed to share with all of you and to maintain league integrity. The video will be posted to the league page immediately, and will give you a sneak peek at where you will be drafting tomorrow.
    3. The divisions will be determined by the same random picking out of a hat. Odd numbers in one division, and even numbers in the other division.
    4. The buy-in this year is $40 per team. The winnings payout is as follows:
    1st Place Champion $420
    2nd Place Runner-up $100
    3rd Place $40

    5. Six (6) teams will make the playoffs. The 2 division winners and the next 4 best teams, so there is a possibility that 5 teams come from 1 division.
The top 2 teams will get a bye in week 14, while the #3 plays #6, and #4 plays #5.
Week 15 of the NFL will be our second round of the playoffs with the final four teams, this is the week the division winners will meet the wildcard winners.
Week 16 of the NFL season will be our money games.
We do not play in week 17 of the NFL, as many teams rest their starters and that would affect our games.
    6. Rosters will be reduced from 16 spots to 15 spots. With the 14 teams and 15 rounds, a total of 210 picks will be made. In the 12 team league with 16 roster spots, we drafted 192 players.
    7. Game day starters are being reduced from 10 to 9 players. The change will be in the WR slots, where previously we needed 3, This year the weekly breakdown will look like this:
    1-QB
    2-RB
2-WR (previous seasons it was 3)
    1-TE
    1-Utility player which can be a RB/WR/TE
    1-K
    1-DEF

I want to give a special thanks to the Deputy Commissioner Alex (Hitmen) who for the 3rd year is supplying the laptops to many of us, at hosting the event at his home. He has tested the systems to make sure all works well.
I also want to thank our out of state Participants Eric and Scott Bryant (Bat City Superbas and Romocoasters), and special thanks to Kristen (Gaelic Storm) who joins us for another season, and who is in essence like family to us who have competed against her for many seasons now.

I wish everyone a great draft day, a fun season, and let the best team (and luckiest team) win baby!
    Sincerely,
    Ant Da Commish
