Smooth Moves by Kyle's Nice Team

    • The 73.40 points scored by Tom Brady was the second-highest QB score of the week and is the fifth-highest QB score in the league this season.
    • Look, there in the sky. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's just Randall Cobb posterizing opponents. He had the seventh-highest score of any WR in the league this week with 26.60 points.
    • Did you use any black magic this week? Kyle's Nice Team was still able to pull out a win with only 3 of their 9 starters exceeding their projected points.
    • With 9.70 points versus a projected 7.92, Delanie Walker exceeded his scoring projection by 22.5%.
    • Kyle's Nice Team won even though all three of their RBs scored below their projected points.

    Toyota Roster Tune-up

    • Hambone may have missed the opportunity for a win, but they gained an opportunity to be mercilessly taunted by Kyle's Nice Team.
    • Did not start Larry Fitzgerald, who scored 30.00 points and beat his projected point total by 279.7%, which was the highest percentage in the league.
    • With 2.50 points, Jordy Nelson had his lowest output of the season and tallied just 15.9% of his 15.77 projected points, his lowest percentage of the year.
    • 5 of the 9 starters scored less than their projected points.
    • Cecil Shorts III fell short of his scoring projection with 4.10 points, just 41.6% of his projected 9.85.

    What If

    • If Kyle's Nice Team played Hambone every week, they would be 4-4 this season.
    • Kyle's Nice Team would have beaten four other teams besides Hambone this week.
    • Were they resting their players for this week? Kyle's Nice Team would have defeated Hambone 122.20 - 120.80 had they played each other last week.
    • Kyle's Nice Team would be 4-3 if they played the same schedule as Hambone.
    • If Kyle's Nice Team had played every team in the league each week, they would be 34-38.
    • Hambone would have lost to six other teams besides Kyle's Nice Team this week.
    • If they played the same schedule as Kyle's Nice Team, Hambone would be 3-4.
    • Hambone would be 29-43 if they played every team every week.

    Game Notes

    • Luck has not been with Hambone, as three of their six losses have come when their opponent scores higher than their season average.
    • Don't you hate that guy that always has to one-up everybody? Hambone scored 133.30 points and lost. It is the seventh-highest losing score in the league this season.
    • We don't condone cheating, but this group of wide receivers might want to spray Stickum on their gloves. The 13.20 total points by the WRs on Hambone was their lowest WR output this season.
    • Kyle's Nice Team has now won three games in a row.
    • Hambone remains winless in comeback games this season, falling to 0-2.
    • The Miami Dolphins Defense scored 32.00 points, the second-highest DEF score in the league this season, but it was not enough to tip the scales in favor of Hambone.
    • Kyle's Nice Team got 92.0% of their points from players they drafted.
    • The 148.20 points scored by Kyle's Nice Team was the lowest winning score in the league this week.

Calvin Johnson Det - WR 2013 vs. Dallas 14 receptions, 329 yards, TD Until Megatron traveled the equivalent of 3.3 football fields against a woeful Cowboys secondary in Week 8 of '13, it had been more than two decades since a player topped 300 receiving yards in the NFL.

The last player to accomplish the feat (Flipper Anderson, 336 yards on Nov. 26, 1989) still holds the all-time mark for receiving yards in a game, a mere seven yards more than Johnson. Kansas City's Stephon Paige was the first, and only other WR, to top this mark when he went for 309 yards against San Diego in '85. As for Johnson's epic tally, it barely edged out Cincinnati's Marvin Jones for the top WR effort of the week, as Jones posted 122 receiving yards and four touchdowns against the Jets, finishing less than a single fantasy point behind the Lion king.
Each week of the season we will bring you the top fantasy football performances of the past 10+ years for that week.
