Marshawn Lynch (back) remained out of Seahawks practice Thursday.

Speaking before Thursday's game against the Chiefs, Raiders coach Tony Sparano said RB Latavius Murray will "get the ball a little bit more."

Advice: Faded Darren McFadden is still getting the "start," but it sounds like the Raiders finally understand they have to do something to jump-start their historically-awful rushing "attack." We wouldn't recommend Murray as more than an RB4 in re-draft leagues, but he's a go-for-the-gold option in daily tournaments. Rotoworld.com

His status will obviously be worth double-checking on Friday, but this is likely just a case of the Bucs getting Sims some rest coming off his first two NFL games. Rotoworld.com

The Saints have badly missed Thomas in the screen game, and need him back more than ever with Brandin Cooks (thumb) done for the season. Foster was downgraded to "DNP" on Thursday after being "limited" on Wednesday. He appears to have slightly better odds of suiting up for Week 12 than he did in Week 11, but his status still remains murky, at best. The Raiders are on pace for 1,008 rushing yards, which would be the fewest ever for a 16-game season.

Advice: If you've found the Raiders' run game to be monumentally futile, that's because it has been. Nevertheless, Oakland has trudged on giving carries to has-beens Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew. That might change in Thursday's game against the Chiefs, as ESPN's Adam Caplan has reported Latavius Murray will finally be in for a bigger workload. Bernard is perhaps fantasy's biggest wild card for Week 12, but it's beginning to appear as if he'll be returning to a workload resembling the one he was handling before going down. Advice: "We’re excited about Jerick and what he’s done and I see him as our running back," Norval said. According to Turner, Tate is just an "insurance" policy with McKinnon battling a minor back injury and Matt Asiata (concussion) unlikely for Week 12. The Colts and Cardinals put in a waiver claim for Ben Tate earlier this week.

Advice: The Vikings were awarded Tate because they have the worst record. It's an interesting nugget as it suggests that the Colts are looking for an upgrade on Dan "Boom" Herron as the backup to ineffective Trent Richardson. Meanwhile, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians has publicly complained about his team's struggles to run the ball as Andre Ellington is averaging just 3.03 YPC over the last eight games. LeSean McCoy insisted Wednesday that he's currently the same player he was last year, when he won the rushing title.

Advice: McCoy threw his offensive line under the bus a bit, saying, "I've had to earn everything I get this year." That's partially true, but McCoy also isn't beating defenders the hole like he did last year and isn't creating those extra yards like he normally does. The Houston Chronicle believes Arian Foster (groin) and Alfred Blue will "likely share carries" if Foster is active Sunday.

Advice: Foster did participate in Wednesday's practice, tentatively putting him on track to suit up against the Bengals Sunday. We're a bit surprised to hear chatter about a timeshare, as Foster has carried the rock at least 20 times in all six games he's been able to finish this year. That said, Blue is coming off a rugged 36-156-0 outing in a win and it's possible the Texans want to protect Foster from these recurring soft-tissue injuries. When asked about Le'Veon Bell's workload going forward, OC Todd Haley said, "we will take all he can give."

Advice: The release of LeGarrette Blount leaves the Steelers desperately thin at running back behind Bell, who is coming off a 35-touch game. They're going to continue to ride the 22-year-old into the ground in all situations, including short-yardage and third-downs. "This is what I train for," Bell said. "I was training in the summer to get the ball as many times as I need to. I didn't feel fatigued in the (Titans) game." • Pats bring LeGarrette Blount back to Foxboro
Patriots signed RB LeGarrette Blount to a two-year contract.

Advice: Oh, the irony. Just eight months after letting Blount walk to Pittsburgh as a free agent (and getting a compensatory draft pick for it), the Patriots get to re-sign him to a team-friendly, minimum contract plus incentives deal. He returns to a backfield that has lost Stevan Ridley to a torn ACL, but does have Jonas Gray functioning well as the clear-cut No. 1 power back. We'd expect Gray to retain a big piece role, with Blount serving as insurance and depth. The 153-772-7 line he put up for Bill Belichick last season is not in the cards, making Blount only a deep-league flier. Blount will at least make sure Gray doesn't have to carry the ball 38 times again like he did in Week 11, putting a bit of a damper on Gray's volume projections. Rotoworld.com

Bengals OC Hue Jackson declined to name a starting running back when pressed following Wednesday's practice.

Advice: Jackson said Gio Bernard (hip) was "tremendous" in Wednesday's session, and Bernard remains on track to return Sunday against Houston. His role isn't going to be what it was early in the season, however. "I think we've got to work him back into our process and how we do things," said Jackson. "What will determine that is just how fast and how we think he is ready to go." It sounds like Bernard will be "eased in" versus the Texans. Vikings claimed RB Ben Tate off waivers from the Browns.

Advice: On the surface, it makes sense. The Vikings were hoping to get Adrian Peterson back in the fold this week, but the NFL instead chose to suspend him for the remainder of the season. Minnesota also doesn't seem ready to hand the reins over to Jerick McKinnon, while Matt Asiata has seen his snaps cut since McKinnon came onto the scene. Asiata is also averaging a pitiful 2.08 YPC over the past five games. Look for Tate to take over as the short-yardage back, in addition to splitting reps between the 20s with McKinnon. It may take some time for Tate to learn OC Norv Turner's offense, so we're not rushing to the waiver wire to add Tate, who looked really bad for the Browns. He's merely an RB3 until proven otherwise. Although he has not played well this season, Tate appears poised to draw much more interest than LeGarrette Blount. Rotoworld.com

  • IND interested in Tate if he clears waivers?
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports the Colts are unlikely to claim ex-Browns RB Ben Tate on waivers, but will "likely" be interested if he clears.

Advice: It's unclear if beat writer Mary Kay Cabot is simply spitballing, but she is reliable. Cabot reports the Broncos are "not interested." Tate is likely to draw more interest than fellow released back LeGarrette Blount, as he's younger, and has a much-shorter trail of incidents. Indy makes almost too much sense as a landing spot after the Colts lost Ahmad Bradshaw. Rotoworld.com

  • Steelers cut insubordinate LeGarrette Blount
    Steelers waived RB LeGarrette Blount.

Advice: That didn't take long. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported early Tuesday afternoon that Blount would be disciplined for leaving the field before the conclusion of Monday's win over the Titans, and the Steelers have decided to do so by cutting ties altogether with the insubordinate back. Blount hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt over a career littered with incidents, both big and small. The fact that he was averaging just 4.09 yards per carry behind breakout star Le'Veon Bell was the nail in Blount's Steelers coffin. Blount has proven useful as a power runner in timeshare backfields, but has always been overrated in short-yardage situations, and offers nothing in the passing game. Throw in his constant troublemaking, and you have a back unlikely to draw much interest on the open market, especially with Ben Tate also available. One month shy of his 28th birthday, Blount is running out of time in the league. Rotoworld.com

  • Browns cut ties with disgruntled RB Ben Tate
    Browns waived RB Ben Tate.

Advice: Tate has been whining about his role after falling behind rookies Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell. He had only two carries in Sunday's loss, and was averaging just 2.15 YPC over his last six games. Tate's two-year free-agent deal from March contained no guaranteed money beyond this season. The Browns will establish a two-back committee going forward, with Crowell sliding ahead of West lately. Tate figures to draw interest from multiple teams, with the Colts a potential fit after losing Ahmad Bradshaw. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Blount is an internal problem for PIT
Sources tell the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that LeGarrette Blount has been an internal problem for the Steelers for at least a month.

Advice: Things appeared to come to a head Monday night as Blount left the field before the game was over, presumably upset with his role (zero touches). Sources told the Post-Gazette that he has been "dragging down" former Cheech and Chong partner Le'Veon Bell, although Bell clearly wasn't feeling down Monday night as he put 33-204-1 on the Titans. Blount, a limited power back on his fourth team in five years, is not a player that can afford to have a bad attitude. Some players are reportedly pushing coach Mike Tomlin to release him. LeGarrette Blount didn't record a touch in the Steelers' Week 11 win over the Titans.

  • Le'Veon lifts Steelers w/ 204 yds & TD on MNF
Le'Veon Bell rushed for 204 yards and one touchdown on 33 carries in the Steelers' 27-24, Week 11 win over the Titans on Monday night.

Advice: He added two catches for 18 yards. After rushing for a combined 56 yards on 21 carries the previous two games, Bell busted back out in a big way. The Titans seemed sold on pressuring Big Ben, leaving gaping holes for Bell to run through. He picked up chunk gain after chunk gain, gliding past defenders. Bell's running style is amazing to watch. He simply glides and offers sudden, yet subtle jukes. Bell eventually found the end zone from five yards out in the fourth quarter. It was his first rushing score since Week 1. He's a locked-in RB1 with a soft schedule down the stretch. The Steelers have a bye before hosting New Orleans. Bell is going to be on a number of fantasy championship squads. Rotoworld.com

It's worth noting that Bush is habitually overly optimistic about his odds of suiting up, but it didn't seem like he was in for a long-term absence when he was shut down for Week 11. • Pettine explains Tate's depth chart tumble
Coach Mike Pettine says Ben Tate has fallen behind Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West on the depth chart because the Browns have been looking for more "explosiveness."

Advice: "It's explosiveness with the young backs," Pettine said. "Just a little more pop." Pettine's comments jibe with the reality, as Tate's YPC has slumped to 3.1. West hasn't been much better at 3.6, but Crowell is managing 4.6. The Browns' running back corps remains a weekly crapshoot where Tate could randomly take on big workloads, but he's an RB4/5 for fantasy purposes after handling all of two touches in Sunday's loss to the Texans. Speaking Monday, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said he "thinks" Giovani Bernard (hip) will resume practicing this week, but added that he "(wasn't) sure."

Advice: Lewis likes to offer up wishy-washy comments, but most signs point toward Bernard returning on Wednesday, and likely suiting up for Week 12. The Bengals' own website has said as much. Bernard reportedly looked good in pre-game warmups before Sunday's win over the Saints. Sidelined for the past three games, Bernard is expected to return to more of a timeshare with Jeremy Hill, who has starred during his absence. • Arians: Cards need more from Andre Ellington
Speaking Monday, coach Bruce Arians said the Cardinals "need more out of" Andre Ellington.

Advice: "He's gutting it up on Sundays, but he needs to perform, too," Arians said of his No. 1 back, who has been playing through a foot injury all season. "Right now, he's as healthy as he's been and we need more out of him." It's a bit hard to believe the Cards could want more out of an injured player who is averaging 22.7 weekly touches, but Ellington's YPC has slumped to 3.4, including 1.75 over his past two games. A brutal schedule hasn't helped, but it's not lightening up any time soon. If anything, Arians' comments are an indication that Ellington will continue to handle massive weekly workloads, keeping him on the RB1 radar. Rotoworld.com

Hobson expects the Bengals' backfield to be "flexed for the stretch," with Jeremy Hill taking on a more significant role than the one he played behind Gio early this season. The San Francisco Chronicle suggests Latavius Murray's time behind Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew might finally be over.

Advice: The 0-10 Raiders have insisted on giving carries to two veterans past their prime. We'd say it's a no-brainer to now give 24-year-old athletic freak Murray the feature role down the stretch, but this is one of the most dysfunctional organizations in pro sports. Murray, who rushed four times for 47 yards and caught three passes for 16 yards on a season-high 27 snaps Sunday, is a "wait and see" kind of add. Advice: The Seahawks can save $7 million of Lynch's $8.5 million cap hit by cutting him in the offseason. Lynch also turns 29 next April and ESPN's Chris Mortensen previously reported that the team has "grown tired" of his "ways." On the field, however, Lynch continues to perform at an All-Pro level, ranking fifth among running backs in yards after contact per attempt and averaging a hefty 4.59 YPC with nine touchdowns. Mike James did not even play a snap and Doug Martin (ankle) was a scratch once again. It left Sims to pile up 16 touches and although he was not productive (44 total yards), he's clearly making progress. "He is looking better and better," coach Lovie Smith afterward. He did go over 100 yards on the day, but much of it came in garbage time and he still has just two touchdowns all year. Andre Ellington rushed 19 times for 42 yards in the Cardinals' Week 11 win over the Lions, adding four catches for 24 additional yards.

Advice: That comes out to 2.2 yards per carry. Granted, the Lions have one of the league's best run defenses, but Ellington's YPC now rests at an ugly 3.35. He has 65 yards over his past 37 rushes (1.75 YPC). Ellington's prowess in the passing game — he's up to 41 catches — keeps his weekly floor high, but he needs to start busting more big runs. That could be difficult, as he's still operating at less than 100 percent. Ellington briefly checked out against the Lions with an undisclosed ailment. Advice: Facing one of his toughest opponents of the season, Bell had arguably his best game. Bell refused to go down, shedding tackles and extending runs with excellent balance. He's now averaging 5.37 yards per carry over his past two games after limping into Week 10 with a 3.19 YPC. For the year, his mark is now up to 3.62. Murray is a straight-linish, upright runner with flaws, but Oakland has nothing to lose at this point by playing him. Advice: He was not involved in the passing game, but capitalized on the absence of Arian Foster en route to a Texans franchise record for rushing attempts. Although Blue sprinkled a number of "negative runs" amongst his 36 carries, the Texans' offensive line cleared several big alleys for Blue, allowing him to break off "chunk-yardage" runs. He finished with the 36 touches compared to third-down back Jonathan Grimes' 13. If Foster misses any time moving forward, Blue should be viewed as a solid, if volume-dependent fantasy RB2. The day of sound and fury but no pay off came against one of the league's very worst run defenses. Ingram has now gotten the ball a preposterous 116 times over the Saints' past four games, a number they know they have to rein in. Alfred Blue will get the start Sunday against the Browns. He's a solid RB2 simply because of volume, but we recommend the Cleveland defense for streaming purposes. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Foster is technically listed as questionable, but no one covering the team expects him to suit up against Cleveland. Alfred Blue will get the start. Blue has generally underwhelmed as a rookie, showing a Shonn Green-esque running skill set. But he is in position for a lot of volume against a weak Browns run defense. Advice: Technically, coach Bill O'Brien is calling Foster a game-day decision after he practiced "a little bit" on Friday. Multiple reports surfaced Friday that Foster will be out against Cleveland, giving Alfred Blue the start. "Right now it does not look promising," Schefter said of Foster's potential availability. "Signs not encouraging." Schefter expects a "heavy dose" of Alfred Blue against the Browns. Advice: We don't typically use Braddock as a source, but he's had some good Texans nuggets in the past, so it's worth a mention. The Texans have been pretty quiet on Foster's status all week, with coach Bill O'Brien chalking him up as a full-blown game-time decision. Foster, himself, wouldn't commit to playing, simply saying, "We shall see." Foster owners should own Alfred Blue already. If not, you need to be making other plans. Fred Jackson (groin) is inactive for Week 11 against the Dolphins.

Advice: F-Jax himself broke the news on Twitter. The short week was simply too much to overcome. It leaves Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon as the Bills' runners. Early-down back Dixon has the higher floor, but will likely find running lanes scarce against a Dolphins' run defense allowing only 3.9 yards per carry. Miami has surrendered just four rushing scores all year. Brown has the higher-ceiling as the Bills' pass-catching back. • F-Jax questionable, Watkins probable for TNF
Fred Jackson (groin) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Dolphins.

Advice: Despite the questionable tag, Jackson didn't suffer any setbacks in Week 10 and was able to practice on a limited basis. He should continue to play through his groin injury, but has a difficult matchup against Miami. Jackson is the favorite to lead the Bills in carries when fully healthy. Sammy Watkins (groin) is probable after practicing in full throughout the week. Rotoworld.com

  • Doug Martin (ankle) not practicing Wednesday
Doug Martin (ankle) is not practicing Wednesday.

Advice: The Bucs never gave a timetable on Martin's ankle injury, but he's in danger of missing his third straight game. Martin's status will be updated again on Thursday. Rotoworld.com

  • Expect Charles Sims' role to gradually grow
The Tampa Bay Times' Greg Auman expects Charles Sims' role to "gradually increase."

Advice: As long as he doesn't fumble like he did on his seventh carry in his NFL debut last week. Sims is an all-around back capable of playing three downs, but most expect Bobby Rainey to remain a big part of the offense. Rainey was better as a pass-catcher Sunday, though catching the ball is one of Sims' strengths. The thing here is we can't expect Sims to just come in and get all the touches for Tampa. Doug Martin is likely to settle in as the No. 3. Rotoworld.com

  • Lamar Miller (shoulder) practicing on Tuesday
Lamar Miller (shoulder) practiced on Tuesday.

Advice: He was limited. Miller didn't do everything in Tuesday's session, but we're not really looking for Miller to be a full participant ahead of Thursday night's AFC East tilt with the Bills. The Dolphins will likely go with a heavy rotation at running back in Week 11, then give Miller 10 days to heal up for Week 12. Rotoworld.com

  • Fred Jackson practicing Tuesday
Fred Jackson (knee) is practicing Tuesday.

Advice: He was officially limited. Jackson came out of his Week 10 return without any setbacks. He's on track to play on Thursday night, but the matchup at Miami is tough and Anthony Dixon/Bryce Brown could remain involved. Rotoworld.com

  • LeSean McCoy vultures TD in MNF blowout
LeSean McCoy rushed 12 times for 19 yards and one touchdown in the Eagles' Week 10 clobbering of the Panthers on Monday night.

Advice: He caught just one pass for minus-two yards in an extremely disappointing effort when the Eagles hung 45 points on the Panthers. McCoy's one-yard touchdown was of the true vulture variety after Brent Celek reeled in a 37-ayrd pass but was dragged down at the half-yard line. McCoy walked in on the next play for just his second score of the year. After a strong previous four weeks, McCoy just couldn't get moving upfield Monday. He'll get the Packers' weak run defense in Week 11. Rotoworld.com

  • Dolphins 'concerned' with Miller's shoulder
According to the Miami Herald, the Dolphins signed LaMichael James off their practice squad because they're "concerned" with Lamar Miller's shoulder.

Advice: Miller only played 11 snaps in Sunday's loss to the Lions. Beat reporter Barry Jackson expects Miller to enter Thursday's game against the Bills "limited" by the injury. It appears Miami's backfield will remain a three-way rotation playing on a short week. Damien Williams and Daniel Thomas will also be involved. It's a fantasy situation to avoid against Buffalo's stout run defense. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Lamar Miller 'fine,' avoided setbacks
Updating an earlier item, a source tells the Miami Herald that Lamar Miller (shoulder) is "fine," and did not suffer a setback with his sprained AC joint in Sunday's loss.

Advice: This is a little hard to believe after Miller was limited to five touches against the Lions, and the Dolphins promoted LaMichael James from the practice squad Monday, but is good news nonetheless. Reporter Armando Salguero is reliable. We'd still consider Miller day to day. At best, he'll be a boom-or-bust RB2 if he suits up against the Bills' elite run defense on Thursday. Rotoworld.com

  • Lamar Miller's status 'uncertain' for Week 11
Lamar Miller's (shoulder) status is "uncertain" for Thursday's game against the Bills.

Advice: Miller was limited to only five touches in Sunday's loss to the Lions, and was nowhere to be found with the game on the line. Daniel Thomas lost a fumble in Miller's absence, while Damien Williams was ineffective. LaMichael James was promoted from the practice squad on Monday, a tell-tale sign the Dolphins are unsure of their No. 1 back's status. Even if Miller does play, it will be against an elite run defense. At least for now, owners need to be making other Week 11 plans. Rotoworld.com

  • Bucs will try to trade Martin in offseason?
Sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter that the Bucs will still be open to listening to trade offers for Doug Martin this summer.

Advice: We don't need inside sources to know this. Martin, a major liability in both running and pass pro over the last two seasons, was inherited by the Lovie Smith regime. He's clearly fallen far out of favor and is now behind both Bobby Rainey and Charles Sims. The Bucs won't be able to get much more than a late-round pick for the player they took 31st overall in 2012. Rotoworld.com
