  • Browns concerned about Ben Tate?
ESPN Cleveland believes that OC Kyle Shanahan has concerns about Ben Tate as the Browns' feature back.

Advice: Tate has started or led the backfield in touches in every game he's been healthy, but Shanahan's comments about wanting "one of the backs to separate" suggests the Browns aren't sold on him carrying the load. There could be a changing of the guard if Tate continues to struggle and one of Isaiah Crowell or Terrance West emerges with a hot-hand. Tate has a 2.8 YPC over the last two games. Crowell has been the most productive and could start to see his role increased. The Browns have the most invested in West as a third-round pick. Rotoworld.com

ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi reports that internal pressure to play Johnny Manziel has "turned up considerably."

Advice: Brian Hoyer is coming off a highly-unproductive loss to the Jaguars, leading the Browns to briefly consider going to Manziel in the second half. Hoyer has been mostly solid managing Kyle Shanahan's offense prior to last week, but his leash on the starting job is now in question. It could be only a matter of time before the Browns turn to Manziel. Hoyer is in danger of getting benched if he can't move the offense against the winless Raiders. Rotoworld.com

Chicago has been missing a third receiver from its 2014 offense with Santonio Holmes and Josh Morgan sharing the role. • Palmer will continue spreading ball around
Carson Palmer said coach Bruce Arians' offense is designed to spread the ball around.

Advice: "I've been in offenses where the majority of the plays are designed to go to one guy," Palmer said. "This system is not designed to go to the 'X' or the 'Z' or the 'Y.' It depends on the coverage." Palmer hit nine different pass catchers against Oakland last week, and connected with 11 and eight different receivers in his first two starts of the season. The emphasis on spreading the ball around has led to disappointing seasons for Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd, who are both on pace to fall below their statistical output from last season. Advice: "If he’s open in the read and the ball gets thrown to him, he needs to catch it," Pettine said, "but we’re not going to force a ball to somebody." Cameron has seen 5.2 targets a game this year after seeing the ball come his way 7.9 times a contest last season. He has also been far less efficient, catching just 38% of his targets on the season. The 2012 UDFA out of Notre Dame was expected to have a bigger role than the three carries he got in Week 7, but the Patriots got absolutely dominated in time of possession and didn't want to challenge the Jets' elite run defense. Advice: Robinson ripped apart the Browns' atrocious run defense last week for 22-127-1 and has earned another start. Don't expect 20-carry games to become the norm. The 197-pound "Shoelace" typically won't have gameflow on his side and also Toby Gerhart (foot) is coming back this week to pair with third-down back Jordan Todman. Per beat reporter Coley Harvey, Lewis "sounded a little optimistic" about Green "possibly giving it a shot Sunday." Branden Oliver rushed 13 times for 36 yards in San Diego's Week 8 loss to the Broncos, adding seven catches for an additional 27 yards.

Advice: Oliver was lucky to escape with the yards that he did, as he simply got gobbled up by the Broncos' athletic front seven. Oliver didn't have a prayer on over half his carries, and was sitting on -3 yards through his first 12 touches. The Broncos were simply getting too much penetration. Oliver's yardage total would have been even less impressive if not for a meaningless 23-yard scamper on the game's final play. Denard Robinson played 46-of-74 snaps in Sunday's win over the Browns.

Robinson is expected to keep the starting job going forward, with Toby Gerhart likely to be a complementary option with Johnson when he returns. Robinson is one of the top waiver-adds for Week 8. Advice: On Sunday, Green was overheard telling a teammate he's going to play in Week 8. On Monday, coach Marvin Lewis said the star receiver has made tremendous strides. But Green still needs to get through a full week of practice and figure out how to manage pain. "It's probably not gonna be 100 percent, but I hope it's just manageable," Green said. Advice: Hoyer laid an egg in a loss to the previously winless Jaguars in Week 7, looking uncomfortable in the pocket and displaying concerning inaccuracy. • Gruden: Alfred Morris missing some cuts
Speaking Monday, Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Alfred Morris "missed some cuts" in Sunday's win over the Titans, and isn't working "in concert" with the offensive line.

Advice: Morris is averaging just 3.82 yards per carry, and has yet to have a 100-yard day on the ground this season. He's averaging 63 weekly yards. Although the absence of Robert Griffin III (ankle) has been an obvious hindrance for the Redskins' ground attack, it doesn't fully explain Morris losing nearly an entire yard off his YPC. Morris is just a mid-range to low-end RB2, and could eventually start losing more touches to Roy Helu. Rotoworld.com

Advice: In an effort to contain DeMarco Murray, the Giants left Prince Amukamara in 1-on-1 shadow coverage for much of the game. Amukamara actually stuck on Bryant's hip for the most part, but Dez was just too fast, too strong and too good for him. Bryant was also unlucky to have a touchdown called back when replays showed his knee was down with the ball inside the 1-yard line. The Giants were forced to leave Dez Bryant in single coverage far too often, leading to a 9-151-0 day. Advice: It was another impressive effort from the Sproles-ian rookie, who sustained drives and extended runs with impressive leg drive and unreal balance. Oliver would have gotten more work had the Chiefs not squeezed the life out of the ball, out-possessing San Diego 39 minutes to 21. In three games as the Bolts' feature back, Oliver has racked up 70 touches for 384 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns. • Palmer throws two more TD passes in victory
Carson Palmer completed 22-of-31 passes for 253 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the Cardinals' Week 7 win over the Raiders.

Advice: He was only sacked once, although Oakland did get pressure on Palmer, particularly in the second half. Palmer put the Cardinals ahead with a two-yard touchdown pass to Stepfan Taylor and a 33-yard score to Michael Floyd in the first half. He was picked in the second quarter by Charles Woodson on a slightly off-target pass that was deflected by TE John Carlson. Cards coach Bruce Arians reportedly emphasized increased balance on offense during the practice week, so Taylor handled more work than usual and Arizona finished with 31 pass attempts compared to 37 runs, one week after Palmer fired off an untenable 44 throws. Jordan Cameron secured just 1-of-6 targets for five yards in the Browns' Week 7 loss to Jacksonville.

Advice: On an awful day by Brian Hoyer, Cleveland's biggest gaffe was an early-game miss by Hoyer to a wide-open Cameron for a would-be four-yard touchdown. Cameron didn't record his lone reception until fourth-quarter garbage time. Cameron should theoretically be a lot more consistent as a featured player in the Browns' passing attack, but obviously hasn't been to this point. Isaiah Crowell and Terrance West mixed in for 14 touches off the bench, limiting Tate's workload. Expect the Browns' rushing attack to get back on track in Week 8 against the Raiders. Advice: Looking like a legitimate running back, the converted Michigan quarterback mixed chain-moving gains with explosive runs on the perimeter. He handled the 22 touches compared to Storm Johnson's six, and Jordan Todman's one. "Shoelace" should remain Jacksonville's lead back until further notice, even when Toby Gerhart (foot) returns. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks had been shopping Percy Harvin for weeks.

Advice: Multiple reports suggest Harvin's "anger management issues" led to his trade to the Jets. For the Seahawks, moving on from his contract gets them out of what's left on his $11 million base salary. Harvin has no guaranteed money beyond this year and would have been a release-candidate after the season regardless. It's still an admission of failure from Seattle after they gave up first- and seventh-round picks last year, and a 2014 third-rounder for Harvin. The timing of the trade is surprising, as Harvin is currently dealing with a thigh injury and was listed as questionable this week. The moves leaves the Seahawks with just Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse as their top two receivers, while Jets GM John Idzik is using his Seattle ties in an attempt to upgrade Geno Smith's supporting cast. Harvin had just one game over 50 receiving yards this season and reportedly "wasn't viewed as a fit." With Harvin gone, rookie Paul Richardson is a candidate for an expanded role. • Pats promote RB Jonas Gray to 53-man roster
Patriots promoted RB Jonas Gray from the practice squad.

Advice: OG Chris Barker has also been promoted. A third-year undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame, Gray will be No. 3 in the Patriots' "big back" rotation behind Brandon Bolden and James White, but it's not outside the realm of possibility that he'll get an opportunity to establish the "hot hand." He's worth a flier in 14-team leagues if you're absolutely bereft of options at running back. Rotoworld.com

  • Shonn Greene (hamstring) still not practicing
Shonn Greene (hamstring) remained out of Titans practice Thursday.

Advice: Greene is going to miss Week 7, giving rookie Bishop Sankey another week to work on locking down No. 1 duties. Rotoworld.com

  • RGIII (ankle) getting in limited practices
Robert Griffin III (ankle) was limited in Wednesday and Thursday's practices.

Advice: RGIII isn't returning for Sunday's game against the Titans, but Week 8 is beginning to look like a real possibility. The Redskins' bye isn't until Week 10, and there's no reason for foot dragging after Kirk Cousins predictably went in the tank. If Griffin was dropped in your 12-14 team league, now could be a good time to take a flier if you're looking to mix things up at quarterback. Rotoworld.com

  • Tony Romo back at practice Thursday
Tony Romo (ribs, ankle) returned to practice Thursday.

Advice: He was "full." Romo took a wicked shot from Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner early in the win at Seattle, but didn't miss any time. He'll be fine for Sunday's game against the Giants. Rotoworld.com

  • Carson Palmer (shoulder) practicing in full
Carson Palmer (shoulder) is practicing in full for Week 7.

Advice: Palmer didn't suffer any setbacks in Sunday's win and will be safe to use as a streamer against the Raiders. Despite not being 100 percent, coach Bruce Arians said Palmer's arm strength is "more than serviceable." Rotoworld.com

  • Gruden: RGIII will be the starter once cleared
Coach Jay Gruden confirmed Robert Griffin III (ankle) will be the Redskins' starting quarterback once he's cleared and "ready physically and mentally."

Advice: Gruden said that could happen in one week, or it could be five weeks. But it's clear at the moment RGIII is going to get the starts under center in Washington once healthy. Kirk Cousins has "led" the Redskins to four consecutive losses, but there's always a chance he could catch fire and force Gruden to keep him in the lineup. The chances of that happening are minimal, as Cousins is a turnover machine and has never shown the ability to win games at the NFL level. There remains a chance Griffin could be back before the Week 10 bye. Rotoworld.com

  • Shonn Greenenot practicing Wednesday
Shonn Greene (hamstring) is not practicing Wednesday.

Advice: Greene missed Week 6 against the Jaguars, leaving Bishop Sankey atop the depth chart. Expect it to stay that way even when Greene returns to the field. Rotoworld.com

  • Romo (ribs, ankle) doesn't practice Wednesday
Tony Romo (ribs, ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

Advice: It's the fifth straight Wednesday Romo has been held out, though this is more than just maintenance for his back issue. Romo suffered injuries to his ribs and ankle during Sunday's win. His status will be updated again on Thursday. Rotoworld.com
