    • Jay Cutler tight with new QBs coach Loggains
Jay Cutler has a "strong, personal relationship" with new QBs coach Dowell Loggains, and Cutler lobbied for the Bears to hire Loggains when Lovie Smith was still head coach.

Advice: The Bears' hire of Loggains under new coach John Fox suggests the team intends to keep Cutler for 2015, despite speculation Cutler could be traded. It's believed Loggains won't be "afraid to challenge Cutler, which the quarterback welcomes." A former Titans assistant, Loggains reportedly "pushed hard" for Tennessee to draft Cutler over Vince Young in 2006. Almost all signs point to Cutler remaining the Bears' quarterback in 2015. • Josh Gordon's contract will be tolled
Due to his latest suspension, Josh Gordon's contract will be tolled through the 2016 season, and he will only be eligible for restricted free agency in 2017.

Advice: This assumes the Browns don't cut Gordon. If they hold onto his rights -- doing so wouldn't count against Cleveland's roster limit -- Gordon will be signed for 2016 and eligible for the Browns to "tender" in 2017. All of this also assumes Gordon commits no violations during his year away. His contract will continue to be "tolled" as long as he's suspended. Rotoworld.com

    • 'Optimism' Justin Blackmon will return in '15
FOX Sports' Alex Marvez reports "lots of folks" inside the NFL are "optimistic" suspended WR Justin Blackmon will return to the Jaguars in 2015.

Advice: Just as Josh Gordon's Dynasty league owners get the worst news possible, Blackmon's get a ray of hope. The Jaguars hope to have an update on Blackmon's progress before May's draft, at which point they can begin planning for the 2015 season. Blackmon remains "suspended indefinitely," with no concrete date for potential reinstatement. At Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell's season-ending presser this past December, he said he'd "heard some good things" about Blackmon's recovery from substance abuse. Blackmon turned 25 two weeks ago. His return would be a huge boost for beleaguered Blake Bortles. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Gordon suspended for consuming alcohol
Profootballtalk's Mike Florio confirms Josh Gordon's one-year suspension stems from a failed test for alcohol, a substance Gordon was prohibited from consuming following his July 2014 DUI.

Advice: Consuming alcohol seems minor to all of us, but it was explicitly banned for Gordon as part of his DUI treatment plan. As NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted on Twitter, the NFL's substance abuse policy is "extremely strict and spelled out. He'll wait for 2016." Gordon will be 25 1/2 years old when the 2016 season kicks off. He led the NFL in receiving yards at age 22. Rotoworld.com

A source tells Profootballtalk.com that a successful appeal for Josh Gordon's latest suspension is "unlikely at this point."

Advice: Gordon allegedly tested positive for alcohol, something he was presumably prohibited from consuming in connection with his laundry list of drug-related misdeeds. Per PFT's Mike Florio, Gordon's one-year ban is likely a "done deal." The Browns need wide receiver help. And a quarterback. Rotoworld.com

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Josh Gordon has flunked yet another drug test and will be subject to a one-year suspension.

Advice: Details aren't yet known, but should trickle out within the next 48 hours. Gordon was suspended ten games to open the 2014 season for multiple failed drug tests. The Browns also suspended him for Week 17 following a violation of team rules. There were postseason rumors the Browns might try trading Gordon this offseason, but the latest ban effectively torpedoes his trade value. The Browns may outright release him shortly. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Grossi previously predicted Gary Barnidge and Jim Dray would be Cleveland's starting tight ends to open the 2015 season. Cameron is a top-five talent at the tight end position, but the Browns appear poised to move on following an injury-riddled 2014 campaign. Cameron's free agent market will be fascinating to track. Advice: This comes as no real surprise as Clay and DT Jared Odrick are Miami's top two free agents. Clay is coming off a down year where he fought through a season-long knee injury. Luck led the NFL in touchdowns (40) and finished behind only Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger in passing yards (4,761). Advice: It seems the act has not yet worn thin, at least at the front-office level, but Lynch's antics are not why his Seahawks future is in question. Lynch is owed $7 million in salary and bonuses and carries a cap charge of $8.5 million in 2015. That is a lot to pay a soon-to-be 29-year-old running back with a history of back spasms and a punishing running style. Citing nearly 20 Browns sources, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Pat McManamon report Johnny Manziel exhibited a "year-long pattern" of lacking commitment and preparation to football and a "continued commitment to nightlife" during his rookie year.

Advice: One player called Manziel a "100 percent joke." Team security reportedly found Manziel "drunk off his a--" the morning before the Browns' season finale. He was fined for missing a treatment for his injured hamstring and spent the Week 17 loss to Baltimore in Cleveland's locker room. During his first NFL start, "Several sources said Manziel either didn't know the plays in the huddle or didn't call them correctly." • New coach Fox noncommittal on Cutler
New coach John Fox declined to comment on whether he believes Jay Cutler will be a Bear in 2015.

Advice: Speaking at his introductory press conference, Fox could have come out and said Cutler is his guy. Instead, he waffled. Cutler melted down badly in 2015, even with passing-game guru Marc Trestman at the controls. It culminated in him getting benched in favor of Jimmy Clausen. Cutler's $15.5M guaranteed salary makes him both difficult to cut and difficult to trade, but arm talent like his is unique. "I'm looking forward to getting to know Jay," Fox said. Rotoworld.com

    • Seahawks now open to bringing Lynch back
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks are now more than open to bringing Marshawn Lynch back next season.

Advice: Not too long ago, it was considered a foregone conclusion that the Seahawks would part ways with Lynch following this season. He'll be 29 in April, is owed $7M in salary and bonuses, has increasingly become an off-field nuisance and Christine Michael is ready to pop. But Lynch has been the identity of a Super Bowl run once again, dominating other workhorse runners in yards after contact per attempt and consistently sparking his offense by punishing defenders. Beast Mode has the leverage now. Rotoworld.com

    • Colts have been working on new deal for Luck
Sources tell ESPN that the Colts have been working on the parameters of a new contract for Andrew Luck.

Advice: Luck's rookie contract is up following the 2015 season. The 25-year-old is expected to land a deal that will make him the highest-paid player in the game, likely around $25M per season. During Luck's first three seasons as a pro, he's gone 33-15 as a starter, been to the playoffs three times, won three playoff games and thrown for 12,957 yards with 86 touchdowns against 43 interceptions. • T-Rich says he's dealing with family issue
Trent Richardson insists he missed Saturday's walk-through because of a family situation.

Advice: Richardson, the Colts' No. 3 back throughout the playoffs, was not allowed to travel with the team after missing the walk-through. "I'm dealing with a very serious family emergency. I'm still at the hospital," he said Sunday. "I wouldn't purposely just miss walk-through." Richardson was a healthy scratch in the Divisional Round win at Denver. He's likely done in Indy even though his $3.2M contract for 2015 is guaranteed. Rotoworld.com

    • Brandon LaFell held to 28 yards
Brandon LaFell caught four passes for 28 yards in Sunday's AFC Championship Game win over the Colts.

Advice: LaFell was third on the team with six targets. He dropped a bubble screen and couldn't break any tackles, snapping a four-game streak of at least 60 receiving yards. LaFell projects to see plenty of Richard Sherman in the Super Bowl, a matchup he will not win. Rotoworld.com

    • Tom Brady headed to Super Bowl for 6th time
Tom Brady completed 23-of-35 passes for 226 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 45-7 AFC Championship Game romp over the Colts.

Advice: Left for dead by many following an ugly Week 4 Monday night loss at Kansas City that dropped the Patriots to 2-2, Brady erased all doubts over the last four months. He ended up tearing through the league again (at age 37), ending the regular season with a top-5 passer rating and a top-8 fantasy finish. Now he goes back to the Super Bowl for the sixth time in a remarkable 15-year career where he'll match up with Seattle's Legion of Boom. The game is a stone pick 'em in most Las Vegas sportsbooks as of Sunday night. Rotoworld.com

    • Hakeem Nicks wraps woeful 'prove it' year
Hakeem Nicks caught one pass for 15 yards in Sunday's AFC Championship Game loss at New England.

Advice: Following an embarrassing zero-touchdown 2013 season as a starter for the Giants, Nicks signed with the Colts on a one-year "prove it" deal. He proved nothing except that he's done. Nicks caught just 38 passes for 405 yards with four touchdowns, losing snaps to raw rookie Donte Moncrief and showing no lower-body explosion. Now Nicks heads back into free agency with the same awful tape he had a year ago. Although he's just 27 years old, Nicks will find a cold market. Rotoworld.com

    • Andrew Luck falls on face in Foxboro
Andrew Luck completed 12-of-33 passes for 126 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions in Sunday's AFC Championship Game loss at New England.

Advice: Facing an elite Patriots defense in driving rain, Luck and his teammates melted down. It puts a damper on an otherwise highly encouraging third NFL season. With OC Pep Hamilton taking the chains off, Luck ranked third in the league in pass attempts (616) and predictably turned that volume into a No. 2 fantasy finish at the QB position -- behind only Aaron Rodgers. Luck will sign a massive contract extension this season and then be back as a top-2 fantasy quarterback option once again, this time with explosive Donte Moncrief hopefully bookending T.Y. Hilton. At just 25 years old, we've seen plenty of evidence already that Luck is a rare breed at the game's most important position. Rotoworld.com

    • John Kuhn rushes twice in NFC title game
John Kuhn rushed twice for three yards in the Packers' NFC Championship Game loss to the Seahawks.

Advice: Kuhn added a three-yard reception. Kuhn's second rush was initially ruled a one-yard touchdown, but was reversed on review. Kuhn "vultured" only one score from Eddie Lacy this season, and offers as little fantasy value as ever. The 32-year-old fullback is headed to the open market. He'll most likely end up back in Green Bay. Rotoworld.com

    • Lynch puts SEA on his back in NFC title game
Marshawn Lynch rushed 25 times for 157 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' NFC Championship Game victory, adding a 26-yard reception.

Advice: With Russell Wilson staggered and struggling, Beast Mode put the team on his back, grinding out the kind of tough yards he's made his name on. Lynch's otherworldly leg drive was on display the entire second half as the 'Hawks worked their way back from a 16-0 halftime deficit. He should again be the focal point of the offense in Super Bowl XLIX. Every passing game makes it appear more and more dubious that Seattle will actually part ways with Lynch this offseason. Brandon LaFell (shoulder, toe) is active for the AFC Championship Game.

Advice: The Pats are without C Bryan Stork (knee), but otherwise healthy as they try to reach their sixth Super Bowl of the 21st century. Also inactive for the Pats are RB James White, WR Brian Tyms, WR Josh Boyce, DL Chris Jones, DE Zach Moore and OT Jordan Devey. Rotoworld.com

    • Colts leave T-Rich home after missed practice
Updating a previous item, Trent Richardson missed the Colts' Saturday morning walkthrough and wasn't allowed to travel with the team to New England.

Advice: The Colts left him at home in Indianapolis instead of bringing him to New England for the AFC title game. He'll be inactive for the second consecutive game. It's not a good combination to suck at football and miss team meetings ahead of the biggest game of the season. T-Rich will get to watch the game from his couch like the rest of us. • Trent Richardson doesn't make trip with Colts
Trent Richardson did not travel with the team to New England due to "personal reasons."

Advice: Richardson will miss Sunday's AFC Championship Game after being a healthy scratch last week. He's fallen behind Dan Herron and Zurlon Tipton on the depth chart, and likely wouldn't have been active for special teams. Despite a fully guaranteed $3.2 million salary, Richardson is a candidate for offseason release. Rotoworld.com

    • Dolphins will push to keep Charles Clay
ESPN Dolphins reporter James Walker believes the Dolphins will try to re-sign impending free agent TE Charles Clay before free agency begins.

Advice: Clay had a down year in 2014, catching 58 balls for 605 and three touchdowns while battling through knee and hamstring injuries. He is still one of the most versatile H-backs in the league, and would likely generate plenty of interest on the open market despite the down season. The Dolphins would be smart to lock him up early. Brandon LaFell (shoulder, toe) is listed as "probable" for the AFC Championship Game.

Advice: LaFell's health won't be a concern as the Pats fight for their sixth Super Bowl appearance of the 21st century. Even with Danny Amendola taking on a bigger role of late, LaFell remains locked in as the Pats' No. 2 receiver. Rotoworld.com

    • T-Rich: I won't be healthy scratch again
Trent Richardson says he'll never again be a healthy scratch.

Advice: "That situation will never happen to me again," a surprisingly-confident Richardson said Thursday. "Anybody can quote me, today, because it's never going to happen again." We suppose it's a good thing that T-Rich still has his confidence, but it will happen again, likely this Sunday as the Colts venture into New England to vie for the AFC's crown. Dead weight as a runner, Richardson wasn't ready for a special teams role in the Divisional Round. He's unlikely to have made enough progress in a week. Although Richardson's $3.184 million salary for 2015 is fully guaranteed, he's a strong candidate for release. Rotoworld.com
