    • Earl Thomas practicing in full for SB XLIX
Seahawks FS Earl Thomas (shoulder) is practicing in full for Super Bowl XLIX.

    • LeSean McCoy not open to pay cut
LeSean McCoy isn't open to a pay cut.

Advice: Shady has said he's open to a restructure, but a straight cut is apparently out of the question. "I know how hard it is to keep a team together, and I want to be part of this team," McCoy said. "But I don't want to take less money." Due a tall $9.75 million for 2015, Shady will count $11.95 million against the cap. McCoy is signed through 2017, so any restructure would likely involve kicking some guaranteed money to 2016. Only $1 million of Shady's 2015 salary is guaranteed, but the Eagles would have to take on $4.4 million in dead money to cut him loose. Rotoworld.com

    • Cardinals not counting on Daryl Washington
The Cardinals aren't counting on suspended ILB Daryl Washington for 2015.

Advice: Substance-abuse violations got Washington banned for all of 2014, but he's yet to be disciplined by the league for his domestic-violence conviction. "Last year, we learned about his suspension after free agency," said team president Michael Bidwill. "This year we are going to plan to make sure we address all the issues not knowing whether Daryl will be back for part of next season or all of next season." Washington should be facing at least a six-game ban. His current year-long suspension runs through late May. Rotoworld.com

    • Saints a possible destination for Maxwell?
ESPN's Mike Triplett suggests the Saints could be interested in impending free agent CB Byron Maxwell.

Advice: Triplett is just connecting the dots. He's not reporting he's heard the Saints are ready to make a run at Seattle's right cornerback. Rotoworld's No. 1 free agent corner, Maxwell did excellent work opposite Richard Sherman this season, and gets a chance to shine on the national stage Sunday. Corner is a major need for the Saints, but their cap situation is one of the league's worst. If Maxwell escapes Seattle, New Orleans is an unlikely landing spot. Rotoworld.com

    • Josh Gordon addresses issues in open letter
Suspended WR Josh Gordon insists he does not have addiction issues, and says he believed he was no longer being tested for alcohol following the regular season.

Advice: Writing in an open letter, Gordon took his critics to task, trying to paint a picture of a player who has been more unlucky than wayward. He continues to insist his failed 2014 marijuana test was the result of second-hand smoke. He also says the alcohol that led to his failed test earlier this month was consumed on a flight with other Browns players, and was the first time he had drank since his July 2014 DWI. Gordon said he's not yet sure if he will appeal his year-long ban. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding his troubles, Gordon is out of second chances with the NFL. He needs to avoid trouble of any kind from here on out. Rotoworld.com

    • Nick Foles: I plan on being in Philadelphia
Asked if he expects to return as the Eagles' starter in 2015, Nick Foles responded "(I plan on) being in Philly."

Advice: "I only listen to the people at the (Eagles') facility," Foles said. "(Coach/GM Chip Kelly is) the one that will make the decision." It's certainly notable that Foles wasn't unequivocal when asked if he'll be starting. Heading into the final year of his rookie contract, things are completely up in the air for Foles. He could be traded, benched or retain his starting job. Rotoworld.com

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram says there's a "real good chance" the Cowboys won't tender restricted free agent RB Lance Dunbar.

Advice: It would cost the Cowboys only $1.575M to tender Dunbar at the lowest level. That may be too much to pay for a satellite back that touched the ball 2.9 times per game in 2014. The Cowboys appear to be higher on a now-healthy Ryan Williams. Rotoworld.com

Ryan Williams' two-year contract with the Cowboys includes a $240K signing bonus and an average salary of $750K for 2015 and 2016.

Advice: It's a nice chunk of change for a running back who has appeared in just five NFL games since 2011. It speaks to Williams' talent, as Dallas made it a priority to keep him in the mix as DeMarco Murray preps for free agency. Williams, finally healthy after myriad knee and shoulder issues, should be monitored closely this offseason. The Star-Telegram says there's a "good chance" RFA Lance Dunbar won't be tendered. ESPN's Adam Schefter says at least six teams have done background work on Adrian Peterson in the event he becomes available.

Advice: Peterson's legal issues coupled with his $15.4M cap number mean he could very well be headed for a split from the Vikings. He won't lack for suitors even at age 30, as he's proven repeatedly that he is built differently than mere mortals. • Robert Griffin III blames ankle for woes
Robert Griffin III said his ankle injury was a big factor in his struggles last season.

Advice: Griffin dislocated his left ankle in Week 2 and missed nearly two months. He returned for three games, but then embarrassingly got benched for Colt McCoy. Now Griffin's place with the Redskins is uncertain entering his fourth NFL season. "The biggest thing for me is coming back healthy," he said. "Last year I wasn't healthy, and it sucked, there's no other way to say it." Being injured certainly doesn't help, but Jay Gruden's questions about whether RG3 can succeed outside of the gimmicky Shanahan scheme are valid. His fundamentals have not progressed. Rotoworld.com

    • Ravens to tender RFA Tucker at high level?
The Baltimore Sun suggests the Ravens could tender restricted free agent K Justin Tucker at a first- or second-round level.

Advice: This would ensure that Tucker would not get any offer sheets because no team is dumb enough to give up a top-64 pick for a kicker. It also would give Tucker a sizable raise he deserves after going 97-of-108 (89.8 percent) on field goals over the last three seasons. A first-round tender would cost $3.113M and a second-rounder is $2.187M. Rotoworld.com

    • Blount denies orchestrating release from PIT
LeGarrette Blount denies orchestrating his November release from the Steelers.

Advice: Conspiracy theorists suggest that New England reached out to Blount and told him that if he wiggled his way out of Pittsburgh, he'd be able to return to Bill Belichick's waiting arms. So then Blount went haywire with his attitude and quit on the team, leaving Mike Tomlin no choice but to dump Le'Veon Bell's backup. The hole in that theory is that every team in the league had a chance to claim him before he became a free agent and signed with the Patriots. Regardless, in seven games as a Patriot since then, Blount has rushed 93 times for 430 yards (4.62 YPC) with six touchdowns. Rotoworld.com

    • Report: Rams interested in trading for Foles
A source tells NJ.com that the Rams have interest in Nick Foles if the Eagles decide to trade him this offseason.

Advice: Foles is 14-4 as a starter over the last two seasons, but there's plenty of reason to believe he is not Chip Kelly's guy for the long haul. Kelly inherited Foles, he prefers a mobile quarterback, Foles regressed sharply as a thrower in Year 2 and the Eagles could be plotting a move up in the draft for Oregon QB Marcus Mariota. According to NJ.com, the QB-desperate Titans and Texans would also have interest in Foles, who has one year remaining on his rookie contract. The Rams have already said Sam Bradford (ACL surgery) will face competition in training camp. Rotoworld.com

Due to his latest suspension, Josh Gordon's contract will be tolled through the 2016 season, and he will only be eligible for restricted free agency in 2017.

Advice: This assumes the Browns don't cut Gordon. If they hold onto his rights -- doing so wouldn't count against Cleveland's roster limit -- Gordon will be signed for 2016 and eligible for the Browns to "tender" in 2017. All of this also assumes Gordon commits no violations during his year away. His contract will continue to be "tolled" as long as he's suspended. Rotoworld.com

Profootballtalk's Mike Florio confirms Josh Gordon's one-year suspension stems from a failed test for alcohol, a substance Gordon was prohibited from consuming following his July 2014 DUI.

Advice: Consuming alcohol seems minor to all of us, but it was explicitly banned for Gordon as part of his DUI treatment plan. As NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted on Twitter, the NFL's substance abuse policy is "extremely strict and spelled out. He'll wait for 2016." Gordon will be 25 1/2 years old when the 2016 season kicks off. He led the NFL in receiving yards at age 22. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Gordon allegedly tested positive for alcohol, something he was presumably prohibited from consuming in connection with his laundry list of drug-related misdeeds.
