    • Keenan Allen open to playing for Bears beyond 2024
Keenan Allen said he is “absolutely” open to playing for the Bears beyond this upcoming season.

Advice: Allen, who was traded to the Bears earlier this week, is in the final year of the four-year extension he signed with the Chargers before the start of the 2020 season. Allen will be 32 at the start of this season but is coming off a year in which he totaled a career-high in receptions (108) and the second-most receiving yards of his career (1,243) despite playing in only 13 games. Allen would’ve turned in a career year across the board if not for an injury sidelining him for the final four weeks of the regular season. Regarding an extension with the Bears, Allen said the two sides will “get there down the line.” Rotoworld Saturday, 10:18 am

    • Dealt to Bears
Allen (heel) was traded from the Chargers to the Bears in exchange for a fourth-round pick Thursday, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports.

Advice: Allen has been a key figure in the Chargers offense for the last 11 seasons, but salary cap problems and a new coaching staff and front office have caused the team to move on. Despite entering his age-32 season, Allen has shown few signs of decline, as he racked up 150 targets across only 13 games in 2023. He turned that into 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns while also tallying a career-best 19 receptions of at least 20 yards. Allen will face some questions on his new team, however, as DJ Moore is the established top pass catcher in the offense, meaning Allen could lose out on some of his prolific target volume. While the Bears are expected to draft Caleb Williams with the top overall pick, it's also still unclear who will be under center in Week 1. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:27 pm

    • Blockbuster: Bears acquire Keenan Allen from Bolts
Bears acquired WR Keenan Allen from the Chargers in exchange for a 2024 fourth-round pick.

Advice: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the cap-strapped Chargers approached Allen about a pay cut from his scheduled $18.1 million salary, but that the veteran wideout understandably declined. It would seem Allen knew there would be a trade market for his services. He now departs the only franchise he’s ever known for a Bears organization that appears poised to select USC’s Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall. Chicago already has a legit WR1 in D.J. Moore, but they want to avoid the mistakes of so many other rookie-starting teams and surround Williams with as many weapons as possible to gain early-career momentum. Going on 32 with a history of hamstring injuries, Allen is nevertheless as consistent as it gets in the middle of the field when he stays on the field, something he did in 2023 until the Bolts threw in the towel late. It’s devastating for Justin Herbert, but Allen should be able to maintain WR2 PPR relevance even with Moore in the fold. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:22 pm

    • Colts nab FA QB Joe Flacco on one-year rental
Colts signed QB Joe Flacco to a one-year, $8.7 million contract.

Advice: The Colts were in need of a viable backup quarterback following the departure of Gardner Minshew, landing on the veteran Joe Flacco. $4.5 million of the $8.7 million contract is guaranteed. Flacco could be charged with a starting role early in the season pending the rehab of second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson, but it is likely Flacco will occupy a backup role for most of the season. Even so, recent history has proven the need for a proficient backup quarterback at the NFL level and Flacco also brings the veteran presence to aid in the development of Richardson along the way. • Inking with Indy
Flacco agreed to terms Wednesday with the Colts on a one-year contract worth up to $8.7 million, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: Flacco's deal reportedly includes $4.5 million guaranteed. The reigning NFL Comeback Player of the Year is coming off an impressive showing with Cleveland last season, and he's now slated to replace Gardner Minshew as the top backup to second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson (shoulder). All expectations in Indianapolis are that Richardson will be ready for training camp and fully cleared well ahead of Week 1, but Flacco makes for a capable backup should he be required to take the field during the 2024 season. Even if Richardson maintains health all season, Flacco should at least make for a valuable mentor for the young signal-caller. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:34 pm

    • Lands with Buffalo
Morrow is set to sign a one-year deal with the Bills, Mike Garafolo of NFL Networkreports.

Advice: Morrow enjoyed a successful 2023 campaign that saw him start 11 games for the Eagles while Nakobe Dean tended to a foot injury. The 28-year-old amassed 95 combined tackles, including 3.0 sacks, and five passes defended. He'll likely fill a depth role in the Bills' linebacker corps behind Terrel Bernard in the middle. • Garafolo: Bills expected to sign Nicholas Morrow
Bills and LB Nicholas Morrow, formerly of the Eagles, agreed to a one-year contract.

Advice: Morrow started 12 games for the Eagles last season and racked up 95 tackles, 12 TFLs, and three sacks while serving as the defense’s signal-caller — as Garafolo pointed out. The Bills defense has been dealt several blows over the last week in an effort to get below the salary cap, but still have Matt Milano and former All-Pro Von Miller on the roster. Morrow will be a welcomed addition to an already skilled linebacker corps. Rotoworld Tuesday, 1:56 pm

    • Stands atop depth chart
White is situated as Las Vegas' top running back entering the new league year, with Josh Jacobs slated to ink a four-year, $48 million contract with the Packers, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

Advice: White is facing real opportunity atop the Raiders' depth chart after an impressive end to the 2023 campaign in which he averaged 114.3 yards from scrimmage per game across the team's last four contests, as Jacobs was sidelined. While Las Vegas still could add significant backfield competition via free agency or the 2024 NFL Draft, White currently has few established names behind him aside from special-teams ace Ameer Abdullah, whom the Raiders opted to re-sign. White's final numbers across 17 regular-season appearances in 2023 came to just 104 rushes for 451 yards and one touchdown, plus 15 catches for 98 yards on 19 targets, but the 2022 fourth-round pick has a clear path to a significantly increased workload looking ahead to the 2024 campaign. • LAC ‘had exploratory trade talks’ on Keenan Allen
Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reports the Chargers have “had exploratory trade talks” on Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

Advice: According to Breer, Allen “appears to be least likely to be moved,” but the team is reportedly listening to all offers. Breer also notes that these discussions are primarily related to the team’s cap situation, as the Chargers are roughly $20.5 million over the cap per . Allen turned in another solid campaign last season, totaling a career-high 108 receptions for 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns. Were it not for a heel injury that popped up after the team’s Week 14 loss to the Broncos, Allen would have likely finished the season with a new career-high in yards. Given Allen’s age and the fact he’s on an expiring contract, the veteran receiver could be acquired by a contender for a reasonable price. Rotoworld Mar 10, 1:48 pm
