  • Cowboys fine Dez for missing MRI, meetings
The Dallas Morning News reports the Cowboys have fined Dez Bryant for missing meetings and an MRI related to his knee injury.

Advice: This explains why the Cowboys took so long to disclose the results of Bryant's MRI, which revealed a hairline fracture in his knee and will likely cost him multiple weeks. Specifically, the injury is a "hairline fracture of the tibial plateau on his right knee." It's unclear how much Bryant has been fined, but at least for now he seems to be in hot water with the organization. Hopefully, he will now focus on rehab and this is the last we hear of this. Advice: Decker is headed for an MRI after missing Wednesday's practice. Per Cimini, the injury "sounds like it could be serious." T.Y. Hilton (knee) didn't practice on Wednesday.

Advice: Hilton went berserk in last week's win over the Chargers (eight catches, 174 yards, one touchdown) so we're not worried about his status for Week 4. In all likelihood, this was just a maintenance day. With Donte Moncrief (shoulder) still sidelined, Hilton will continue to be a target monster Sunday against Jacksonville. • Dez has fracture in knee, hopes to play at SF

Advice: Garrett called it a "day by day, week by week" thing, so who knows what that means. If we were to simply make an educated guess, we'd say Bryant doesn't play Sunday. • Kendall Wright expected to make debut Week 4
Kendall Wright (hamstring) is expected to practice fully this week and make his season debut Sunday against the Texans.

Advice: Wright has been out since early August with the strained hamstring. He returned to limited practices two weeks ago, but now should have "no limitations." The Titans could really use Wright to help jumpstart their No. 24 passing offense. • Beat writer thinks Jaron Brown needs to play
The Arizona Republic's Kent Somers believes WR Jaron Brown needs to "play more" at the expense of Michael Floyd.

Advice: Floyd has arguably been the least productive receiver in the league through three weeks. Among receivers with at least 20 targets, Floyd's 39.1 percent catch rate ranks dead last. He was credited with one drop in the Week 3 loss to the Bills, but he could have just as easily been charged with three. Floyd also ran a bad fourth-quarter route, leading to a Carson Palmer interception, when the Cardinals were threatening a comeback. Brown has caught 6-of-11 targets for 145 yards (24.2 YPR) and one score on just 85 snaps, mostly playing in garbage time. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 6:15 pm

NFL.com's Mike Garofolo reports Sammy Watkins will test out his injured foot on Wednesday or Thursday, and that it will determine his Week 4 availability.

Advice: Per Garofolo, "there are no structural issues" with Watkins' foot, and it remains "an issue of pain tolerance." Watkins tried to play through the injury on short rest in Week 2, but had a sub-par night against the Jets' leaky secondary. It sounds like Watkins will probably be listed as "DNP" on Wednesday. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said first-round WR Laquon Treadwell needs "to do better in practice."

"I still think he's thinking about the number of steps to take on each route and things like that, being at the right depth." The Vikings have brought their rookies along slowly in recent years, but Treadwell is a different situation. • Rookie WR Michael Thomas goes 7-71-1 in loss
Michael Thomas caught 7-of-11 targets for 71 yards and one touchdown in the Saints' Week 3 loss to the Falcons on Monday night.

Advice: With Willie Snead (toe) inactive, Thomas played a full complement of snaps and got the start. His 11 targets tied for the team lead with Coby Fleener, who also broke out with a 7-109-1 line. Thomas was targeted on quick slant after quick slant after quick slant, and scored his touchdown on that route from three yards out. He was also the intended target on the same route on Drew Brees' back-breaking 90-yard pick-six in the fourth quarter. Thomas was Brees' featured player in the red zone, as he was also stopped at the two-yard line on one grab. • Julio Jones held to 1-16 line in blowout win
Julio Jones was held to one catch for 16 yards on seven targets in the Falcons' 45-32, Week 3 win over the Saints on Monday night.

Advice: Jones' seven targets were a team-high, but he and Matt Ryan just couldn't connect on much of anything on a night the Falcons' running backs -- Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman -- combined for 296 yards and four touchdowns dominated on offense. Jones came into the game with calf and ankle ailments, and he wasn't in on every offensive snap, but didn't look to be any worse for the wear. Advice: Austin entered Week 3 with an inconceivable 63 yards on 22 targets, but finally had a productive afternoon. The Rams continued to scheme him the ball, and Austin chewed up some yardage in space. His score was a 43-yarder where he was somehow left on a 1-on-1 island with Chris Conte. The result was predictable. Austin nearly cost the Rams late in the fourth quarter, fielding a kickoff like a punt and setting his team up at the six-yard line. It was a ball that should have been given up on. Going up against the Cardinals' solid secondary in Week 4, Austin will be a low-end WR4. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 5:38 pm

  • Tyler Lockett goes catch-less in Week 3 win
Tyler Lockett was not targeted in the Seahawks' Week 3 win over San Francisco.

Advice: Lockett entered this game listed as questionable with a knee injury, but his health was not an issue. He returned a punt 62 yards and nearly took it to the house, but simply wasn't a big part of the passing game on a day where Doug Baldwin (8-164-1) and Jimmy Graham (6-100-1) did the heavy lifting. Lockett will continue to be a volatile fantasy option in the Seahawks' offense. His yardage totals through three games are 17, 99, and 0. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 4:47 pm

  • Hilton goes off for 8-174 and game-winning TD
T.Y. Hilton caught 8-of-11 targets for 174 yards and one touchdown in the Colts' 26-22, Week 3 win over the Chargers.

Advice: Hilton did battle against Chargers rising star CB Jason Verrett for much of the day, but got the better of him when all was said and done. Hilton made a slick grab deep down the sideline with Verrett draped on him in the third quarter, and then accounted for the game-winning 63-yard score late in the fourth quarter, running right by the defense down the middle. The knee "injury" that had Hilton listed questionable proved to be a non-issue. Hilton will be a WR1/2 next week when the Colts travel to London to face the Jaguars. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 4:46 pm

  • Streak Over: Decker catches 1 for 31 in loss
Eric Decker caught 1-of-6 targets for 31 yards in the Jets' Week 3 loss to the Chiefs.

Advice: And with this horrendous performance by the Jets offense, Decker’s streak of 18 consecutive games with 80 yards or a touchdown is snapped. Decker had just one target in the first half, and he did not get his first catch until early in the fourth quarter. Decker was targeted in the end zone in the second half, but Eric Berry went up high to break up the pass. Ryan Fitzpatrick was terrible Sunday, and it will not get any easier with the Seahawks coming to town next week. Still, Decker will be a good bet to start a new streak in that game. • DeVante Parker finds end-zone in Week 3
DeVante Parker caught 3-of-6 targets for 51 yards and a touchdown in Miami's Week 3 win over the Browns.

Advice: Parker saw fewer targets than Jarvis Landry (12) and Kenny Stills (8), but scored on a 26-yard first-quarter touchdown. He was quiet for the rest of the game, making just two catches for 17 yards. Parker has established himself as Miami's top red-zone threat. Jarvis Landry caught 7-of-12 targets for 120 yards and a touchdown in Miami's Week 3 win over the Browns.

Advice: Landry beat Tramon Williams for a 42-yard touchdown early in the second half. He also set up the game-winning touchdown in overtime on a perfectly run route. Landry has benefitted from Miami's pass-heavy playcalling, and is now up to 35 targets through three games. He's locked in as a WR2 for Week 4. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:31 pm

  • DeSean Jackson goes 5/96/1 vs. Giants
DeSean Jackson caught 5-of-8 targets for 96 yards and a touchdown in Washington's Week 3 win over the Giants.

Advice: D-Jax proved he was over his ankle injury by running by Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie for a 44-yard score. Jackson suffered what looked to be another ankle injury late in the first half, but escaped with only a tweak or bruise. It's always a bit of a rollercoaster with one of the league's top deep threats, but Jackson is the owner of a 14/238/1 line through three games. He's firmly back in the WR2 conversation. He has a juicy Week 4 matchup with the Browns. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:18 pm

  • Tajae Sharpe quiet most of the day in loss
Tajae Sharpe caught 3-of-7 targets for 48 yards in the Titans' Week 3 loss to the Raiders.

Advice: Sharpe was mostly a non-factor much of the day. Prior to the Titans' final drive, Sharpe had just one catch for six yards on five targets. His two final-drive catches were big to get the Titans in the red zone, but Tennessee predictably failed to convert for the score. With Delanie Walker (hamstring) out of the lineup, Sharpe's line was a big disappointment. Marcus Mariota has been dreadful through three weeks, leaving Sharpe as a low-upside, low-floor WR4 for Week 4 at Houston. Rotoworld.com Sunday, 2:06 pm

  • Michael Floyd held to 65 yards on 11 targets
Michael Floyd caught 4-of-11 targets for 65 yards in the Cardinals' Week 3 loss to the Bills.

Advice: The Cardinals tried numerous deep shots to Floyd early in the game, but connected on none of them and wound up trying to nickel and dime Buffalo's defense underneath, which didn't work. Floyd scored a touchdown in Week 2 and has gone over 60 yards in his other two games, but he has been a disappointment in fantasy early in the season. Advice: Fantasy owners got a mild scare when Jeffery was held out of Thursday's practice, but he returned to a limited session Friday and should be loaded into fantasy lineups. Advice: Watkins tweeted something Saturday night suggesting he was planning on playing, but it sounds like he failed to receive medical clearance. Schefter reports the Bills will turn to one-trick speedster Marquise Goodwin opposite Robert Woods. Losing Watkins is a huge downgrade to Tyrod Taylor's outlook in an already-tough matchup. • Tweet from Watkins indicates he plans to play
A Saturday night tweet from Sammy Watkins (foot, questionable) indicated he plans to play Sunday against Arizona.

Advice: The tweet -- linked below -- reads, "Ready to go out there and compete at the highest level." CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported earlier in the day the Bills were "still holding out some hope" Watkins would give it a go against the Cardinals, despite Rex Ryan's Friday statement that chances were "not real good" Watkins would be able to play. If Watkins does play, he'll be a low-floor WR3 option against Patrick Peterson. Advice: Snead's status is up in the air after missing most of the practice week. He's "hopeful" of playing, but knows it'll come down to how he feels Monday. Even if Snead starts, the late game and possibility of a setback make him a risky WR3 play. Rotoworld.com Saturday, 12:02 pm

  • Shanahan plans to keep spreading ball around
Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan plans to keep spreading the ball around in the passing game.

Advice: "You don’t have to force it into tough looks. You can go where the coverage tells you," Shanahan said. "You might not have the same numbers for [Julio Jones] and stuff, but I think the result ends up improving the offense." Julio has nine catches for 172 yards and two scores already this year, but he is on pace for just 104 targets after seeing 203 last season. The Saints will hold another practice on Saturday ahead of Monday night's clash with the Falcons. • T.Y. Hilton (knee) gets in limited practice
T.Y. Hilton was added to the Colts' injury report Thursday, getting in a limited practice with a knee issue.

Advice: A similar move caused alarm last week, but it turns out this is just going to be Hilton's ritual for the time being. Hilton was actually held out last Thursday before ultimately starting against the Broncos. He's a solid WR2 for a decent matchup with the Chargers. Jason Verrett is unlikely to follow Hilton into the slot. Daily Slant: Hilton is second in targets (23) and tied for fourth in red-zone targets (4) in the early going, which sets him up for a huge afternoon against the Chargers. He's going to avoid Verrett while he's lined up in the slot, and with Donte Moncrief out there is little reason to expect his target total to drop. This contest is one of the better targets of the week on the fast Indy track. Hilton is playable in any format. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 1:32 pm

  • DeVante Parker (hamstring) still limited
DeVante Parker (hamstring) remained limited at Thursday's practice.

Advice: It feels like Parker has been on the injury report since the Dolphins drafted him last year but there's nothing to suggest he won't play in Week 3. He was brilliant against New England last week and has averaged 98 receiving yards per game over his last four outings. Parker will be in the WR2/3 mix against Cleveland. • Snead missing from Saints practice Thursday
Willie Snead (undisclosed) was absent from the portion of Saints practice open to the media on Thursday.

Advice: It's the Saints' first practice of the week, as they're playing in the Monday night game. It's possible Snead isn't injured and is away from the team on personal business, but that's not the most-likely scenario. It's also not the "veteran's day" portion of the season for a 23 year old. Snead's status will be updated soon. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 12:07 pm

  • Gruden: Friday practice will be key for D-Jax
Redskins coach Jay Gruden says DeSean Jackson's (knee, ankle) Friday practice will be key in determining his Week 3 status.

Advice: "With a sprinter like that, he needs to be full go," Gruden said, suggesting D-Jax's limited Thursday participation wasn't enough. Gruden said a few deep balls will be fed to Jackson on Friday to see if he's "full speed." Owners can keep Jackson penciled in as their WR3, but need to have an alternative ready. • Doctson gets in another 'limited' session
Josh Doctson (Achilles') remained limited Thursday.

Advice: The Redskins are likely just managing Doctson's reps after he barely practiced over the summer. Doctson is a WR5 as he gets his NFL feet wet. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 11:44 am

  • Alshon Jeffery downgraded to 'DNP' Thursday
Alshon Jeffery (knee) was downgraded to "DNP" in Thursday's practice.

Advice: Jeffery was "limited" on Wednesday. "Just something that we're monitoring," coach John Fox said, apparently seeking a competitive advantage. "We'll see what tomorrow brings." It's unknown when Jeffery suffered his latest "injury." No player in the league gets listed with more random practice ailments. It's possibly just gamesmanship on the part of the Bears. For now, we'd still consider Jeffery likely to suit up against the Cowboys, but it can't be considered a given. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, Chicago is playing in the Sunday night game. • 'Some concern' Watkins (foot) will miss Week 3
Bills coach Rex Ryan said there is "some concern" Sammy Watkins (foot) will miss Week 3 against the Cardinals.

Advice: Watkins didn't practice for the second day in a row. His foot injury doesn't seem to be getting any better and at this point, sitting out might be the best thing for him. Even if he plays, Watkins has a tough matchup against ace corner Patrick Peterson. Robert Woods and Marquise Goodwin would be the featured receivers if Watkins can't get the green light. • Eric Decker back at Jets practice on Thursday
Eric Decker (shoulder) returned to Jets practice Thursday, getting in a limited session.

Advice: Decker is going to be fine for Sunday's trip to Kansas City. He's a mid-range WR2 who will tick higher if Brandon Marshall (knee) can't go. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 10:38 am

  • Kendall Wright practices Wednesday
Kendall Wright (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday.

Advice: "It felt good to be out there,’’ Wright said. "Today was a start. Feel like I'm getting close." Wright has missed the last two weeks, but looks on track to return against Oakland. He won't be higher than the No. 4 pass-game option. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 3:55 pm

  • Josh Doctson (Achilles) limited Wednesday
Josh Doctson (Achilles) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Advice: Doctson didn't look to suffer any setbacks in his return last week. Washington surprisingly featured him with three red-zone targets, but he failed to come down with any of them. Doctson should be fine for Week 3. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 2:25 pm

DeVante Parker (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

  • Tyler Lockett limited on Wednesday
Tyler Lockett (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Advice: Coach Pete Carroll said Lockett is on track to play Sunday against the 49ers. After a few big grabs against the Rams last week, Lockett is back on the WR3 map in a tasty home date with the lowly 49ers this week. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 12:44 pm

  • DeSean Jackson (knee, ankle) DNP on Wednesday
DeSean Jackson (knee, ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

Advice: Coach Jay Gruden said Jackson's injury happened around the third quarter in the Week 2 loss to the Cowboys. Jackson was at practice Wednesday, but was merely a spectator. If he plays Week 3 against the Giants, Jackson will be hard to trust as more than a boom-or-bust WR3 in a tough matchup. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:50 am

  • Alshon Jeffery (knee) limited on Wednesday
Alshon Jeffery (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Advice: It's not a big concern, but any time Jeffery gets listed with an injury it's notable. He missed so much time last season with nagging issues. The good news this time is that it's not a soft-tissue -- hamstring, calf, quad -- ailment that he seemed to battle all of 2015. Jeffery should be fine for Week 3 at the Cowboys, though his fantasy owners would surely appreciate more targets. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 11:33 am

  • Eric Decker: No concern about Week 3 status
Eric Decker (shoulder) said he isn't concerned about his Week 3 status.

Advice: "I'm fine," Decker said in a Tuesday radio interview. "I'm definitely playing." Coming off a dominant Week 2 effort, Decker has scored in both games this season. He's as solid of a WR2 as they come. Rotoworld.com Tuesday, 11:20 am

  • Jeffery posts 5-96 line in MNF loss to Eagles
Alshon Jeffery caught 5-of-7 targets for 96 yards in the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Eagles.

Advice: Jeffery led the Bears in targets, but once again the ball was spread around like it was in the season opener. With Kevin White and Eddie Royal back healthy after missing much of last season, Jeffery doesn't appear to have a dominant market share on the targets in Chicago. He still was easily the best offensive player on the field for the Bears, setting up their lone offensive touchdown with a 49-yard catch on a double-move past rookie CB Jalen Mills. He also drew a DPI penalty in the end zone two plays later. Jeffery remains a WR1, but it would be nice to see him back in the 10-12 targets range. He's seen just 13 through two games. Jeffery gets a decent matchup on the road against the Cowboys in Week 3. Rotoworld.com Monday, 8:49 pm

  • Braxton Miller doesn't practice Monday
Braxton Miller (hamstring) did not practice Monday.

Advice: Miller exited Week 2 after catching one ball for three yards on three targets. He was set to undergo an MRI on Monday. Miller seems unlikely to play Thursday night against the Patriots. Jaelen Strong would be in line for more work. Rotoworld.com Monday, 4:18 pm

  • DeVante Parker not all the way back
DeVante Parker admitted his explosiveness is not all the way back after battling hamstring injuries all spring and summer.

Advice: He could have fooled us with 106 yards on 13 targets in Miami's Week 2 loss to New England. "When I get there, it's going to be a whole different kind of ball game," Parker said of his health. Added coach Adam Gase, "As far as him being a playmaker, that’s pretty obvious. He’s a guy we have to keep on the field." Since breaking into the lineup last Week 12, Parker has averaged 78.7 yards with three touchdowns and five games of 80 yards or more in a seven-game sample. • Eric Decker dealing with a sore shoulder
Eric Decker is dealing with a sore shoulder.

Advice: He was in the trainer's room getting worked on while his teammates practiced on Monday. Decker played 72-of-77 snaps in Thursday night's win over Buffalo and led the team with 126 receiving yards. As long as he makes it back to practice by the end of the week, Decker should be fine for Sunday's Week 3 matchup against Kansas City. Rotoworld.com Monday, 11:31 am

  • Tajae Sharpe plays every snap Week 2
Tajae Sharpe played 67-of-67 snaps Week 2 against the Lions.

Advice: The next highest receiver, Rishard Matthews, played just 36 snaps. Sharpe only managed four catches for 33 yards, but he is the clear No. 1 receiver in Tennessee. Even in a bad offense, his spot on the depth chart should result in WR3 value most weeks. Rotoworld.com Monday, 6:26 am

  • Tyler Lockett dealing with knee sprain?
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Tyler Lockett suffered a sprained knee Week 2 against the Rams.

Advice: Lockett sat out most of the second half because of the injury, but he was able to return in the fourth quarter and promptly contributed a 53-yard bomb. The fact he was able to play through the issue on Sunday suggests it will not cause him to miss any time, but his practice reports need to be monitored this week. The entire offense has a get-right opportunity this week against the 49ers at home. Rotoworld.com Monday, 5:17 am

  • Laquon Treadwell plays only two snaps
Laquon Treadwell played just two snaps in Week 2.

Advice: He's behind Stefon Diggs, Charles Johnson, and Adam Thielen. Despite the lack of playing time, Treadwell should start to see more snaps. Johnson (three catches, 21 yards) has given Minnesota nothing opposite Diggs. Rotoworld.com Sep 18, 10:04 pm
