    • Keenan Allen open to playing for Bears beyond 2024
Keenan Allen said he is “absolutely” open to playing for the Bears beyond this upcoming season.

Advice: Allen, who was traded to the Bears earlier this week, is in the final year of the four-year extension he signed with the Chargers before the start of the 2020 season. Allen will be 32 at the start of this season but is coming off a year in which he totaled a career-high in receptions (108) and the second-most receiving yards of his career (1,243) despite playing in only 13 games. Allen would’ve turned in a career year across the board if not for an injury sidelining him for the final four weeks of the regular season. Regarding an extension with the Bears, Allen said the two sides will “get there down the line.” Rotoworld Saturday, 10:18 am

    • We hear you: KC expected to sign Marquise Brown
Chiefs agreed to terms with WR Marquise Brown, formerly of the Cardinals, on a one-year contract.

Advice: It’s worth “up to” $11 million. At the urging of almost literally everyone, the Chiefs have finally made a meaningful receiver addition two years after they signed Marquez Valdes-Scantling as part of their piecemeal post-Tyreek Hill plan. The problem for fantasy managers, of course, is that the plan flawlessly worked in the form of back-to-back Super Bowl championships, but that does not obscure the fact that the wideout room was probably the weakest position group on the entire team. Brown is a flawed player himself, getting caught up in Kliff Kingsbury’s “horizontal raid” and never stretching the field as much as one might expect with his blazing speed. But he is a player capable of making plays at all three levels of the field, and now unquestionably the most talented outside wideout K.C. has added post-Hill. The question for 2024 will be whether the Chiefs’ increasingly-conservative passing attack favors Rashee Rice’s underneath game, but at the very worst, Brown will be a top-30 fantasy option. WR2 returns are well within reach. Hopefully this offense actually starts taking the lid off opposing defenses again. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:42 pm

    • Pairing up with Mahomes
Brown (heel) is slated to sign a one-year contract worth up to $11 million with the Chiefs, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Brown is coming off two underwhelming seasons with the Cardinals, though he was plagued by injuries in both campaigns. He'll now join the prolific Chiefs offense and should become a top-three option for Patrick Mahomes behind TE Travis Kelce and WR Rashee Rice. Brown -- who will presumably be past the heel injury that slowed him late last season by the time he takes the field for Kansas City -- may find it difficult to replicate his breakout 2021 campaign during which he commanded 146 targets, but he could see a potential boost to his statistical output due to his new surroundings. • Dealt to Bears
Allen (heel) was traded from the Chargers to the Bears in exchange for a fourth-round pick Thursday, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports.

Advice: Allen has been a key figure in the Chargers offense for the last 11 seasons, but salary cap problems and a new coaching staff and front office have caused the team to move on. Despite entering his age-32 season, Allen has shown few signs of decline, as he racked up 150 targets across only 13 games in 2023. He turned that into 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns while also tallying a career-best 19 receptions of at least 20 yards. Allen will face some questions on his new team, however, as DJ Moore is the established top pass catcher in the offense, meaning Allen could lose out on some of his prolific target volume. While the Bears are expected to draft Caleb Williams with the top overall pick, it's also still unclear who will be under center in Week 1. Rotowire.com Thursday, 7:27 pm

    • Blockbuster: Bears acquire Keenan Allen from Bolts
Bears acquired WR Keenan Allen from the Chargers in exchange for a 2024 fourth-round pick.

Advice: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the cap-strapped Chargers approached Allen about a pay cut from his scheduled $18.1 million salary, but that the veteran wideout understandably declined. It would seem Allen knew there would be a trade market for his services. He now departs the only franchise he’s ever known for a Bears organization that appears poised to select USC’s Caleb Williams at No. 1 overall. Chicago already has a legit WR1 in D.J. Moore, but they want to avoid the mistakes of so many other rookie-starting teams and surround Williams with as many weapons as possible to gain early-career momentum. Going on 32 with a history of hamstring injuries, Allen is nevertheless as consistent as it gets in the middle of the field when he stays on the field, something he did in 2023 until the Bolts threw in the towel late. It’s devastating for Justin Herbert, but Allen should be able to maintain WR2 PPR relevance even with Moore in the fold. Rotoworld Thursday, 7:22 pm

    • Loses top wideout
Lawrence will enter the 2024 season without the presence of Calvin Ridley, who is set to sign a four-year, $92 million contract with the Titans, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.

Advice: Lawrence suited up for one less game last season after playing all 17 in 2022, but despite Ridley's presence atop the depth chart, he took a step back in terms of passing yards (4,016 vs. 4,113), touchdowns (21 vs. 25), and increased his interception total (14 vs. eight). That said, the loss of Ridley to free agency still represents a knock to Lawrence's prospects for 2024, especially with Zay Jones also being a speculated cap casualty. The addition of Gabe Davis from Buffalo, who joins Christian Kirk (groin), does something to mitigate those concerns, and the Jaguars still have plenty of time to make further moves in free agency or April's draft. • Could benefit from improved QB play
Robinson looks set to benefit from what should be an improved offense in his second NFL season after quarterback Kirk Cousins (Achilles) agreed to a four-year, $180 million contract with Atlanta on Monday.

Advice: Robinson, the eighth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, fell just short of 1,000 rushing yards (976) as a rookie but showcased a three-down skill set, boosting his fantasy totals with a 58-487-4 receiving line. Cousins still needs to complete his recovery from Achilles surgery, but his steady hand under center should boost Robinson's prospects, and the Atlanta offense as a whole. The addition of Cousins should also yield a more multi-dimensional offense, as Robinson and fellow running back Tyler Allgeier faced eight-plus defenders in the box 20.6 and 30.7 percent of the time last season, respectively, with opposing defenses often keying in on the run while lesser quarterbacks in Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke were directing the Atlanta offense. Robinson will be a popular breakout candidate for the 2024 campaign, thanks to the tantalizing promise of an Atlanta offense finally being headlined by competent quarterback play. • Paolantonio: Eagles could target RB in NFL Draft
ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio believes the Eagles could target a running back in the NFL Draft.

Advice: Paolantonio said on the Pat McAfee Show that the Eagles could try to create a “thunder and lightning” backfield with Saquon Barkley — who signed a three-year deal with Philly this week — functioning as the thunder part of the equation. Paolantonio didn’t speculate who the rookie back might be, but any sort of draft capital spent on a running back could mean Barkley will share backfield touches in 2024. Kenneth Gainwell could function as the team’s RB behind Barkley. Rotoworld Tuesday, 9:22 am

    • Signing with Eagles
Barkley and the Eagles have reached agreement on a three-year, $37.75 million contract that could be worth up to $46.75 million and includes $26 million fully guaranteed at signing, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Advice: While the dollar amounts in initial contract reports are suspect, Schefter was specific about all the key details on this one. The Eagles have upgraded their offense by swapping out D'Andre Swift (Bears) for Barkley, who figures to have the best offensive line of his career after spending six years with the division-rival Giants. QB Jalen Hurts' proficiency as both a scrambler and short-yardage runner takes away some of the receiving and TD production that might otherwise go to a running back, but the Eagles will surely make Barkley a priority after signing him to a large contract, and at the very least it should be a good situation for piling up rushing yards.
