    • Cowboys' starters saw full reps in practice
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Cowboys' starters practiced this week as if they were playing in a "regular role."

Advice: Needing basically a miracle to earn a first-round bye, the Cowboys have little reason to play their starters against Washington. That appears to matter little to coach Jason Garrett, who has been consistent the starters will play a normal role Week 17. A full game may be Dallas' intent, but it would not be surprising if Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray and Dez Bryant are pulled at some point in the game. All three are risky targets in daily formats. • DeAngelo Williams may not return to Carolina
ESPN Panthers reporter David Newton believes the Panthers will move on from RB DeAngelo Williams following the season.

Advice: After years of struggling under the dead-money weight of Williams' contract, the Panthers will finally be in a position to cut loose the aging running back this offseason. Williams is only due $1.85 million in base salary in 2015, but carries a cap hit of $6.33 million for next season. The cap-strapped Panthers could save around $2 million on the 2015 cap by designating Williams a post-June 1 cut. With his play on the field slipping, it is an easy move for Carolina to make. DeAngelo Williams (hand) is listed as probable for Week 17 against the Falcons, but Jonathan Stewart is still expected to start.

Advice: Coach Ron Rivera was unwilling to discuss the specifics of the running back rotation, but it is safe to assume the red-hot Stewart will retain most of the work even if Williams plays. Stewart has rushed for a league-high 437 yards over the past four games and has helped spark the Panthers to three straight wins. He is a solid RB2 against the Falcons. Rotoworld.com

Jamaal Charles (ankle, hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 17.

Advice: He was limited in practice each day this week. Slowing down over the course of the season, Charles has finished on a disappointing note from a fantasy perspective. The Atlanta Journal-Sentinel expects Jacquizz Rodgers -- not Devonta Freeman -- to handle the "bulk of the carries" in Week 17 against the Panthers.

Advice: Quizz is also expected to start. We're betting on a 60:40 or 55:45 split between Rodgers and Freeman, with Rodgers playing a bit more and handling a few more touches. Freeman offers more upside because he has more big-play ability, but in a season-long league neither would be considered more than a flex option. Rotoworld.com

ESPN Patriots reporter Mike Reiss thinks James White could be the team's pass-catching back in 2015.

Advice: With Shane Vereen scheduled to become a free agent in March, White could make the leap in 2015. The 130th pick in May's draft was standout in OTAs and minicamp, but couldn't put it together in the preseason and has played just 27 offensive snaps as a rookie. Advice: Hillman practiced on a limited basis last week, but was ruled inactive on Monday night against the Bengals. The Broncos often make their injured players practice for two weeks before activating them. So we'd consider Hillman on track to play against the Raiders in Week 17, serving as one of C.J. His best run was a 45-yard burst that saw him absolutely truck stick Rams S Rodney McLeon and keep running. Unfortunately, he blew a blitz pickup which led to a few extra carries for Orleans Darkwa in the first half, one of which went for a 12-yard score. Murray was clearly hampered by the hand injury. He carried the ball almost exclusively in his right hand and seemed wary of using his hands to block in pass protection, instead attempting to essentially tackle the blitzing defender. Advice: Charles also lost a fumble. With everything on the line for his team, coach Andy Reid gave Charles just 14 touches in a game where Alex Smith chucked up 45 passes. It was another extremely disappointing game plan as the Chiefs lost for the fourth time in five games. Advice: Stewart was limited to three yards on his initial three carries before breaking an eight-yarder on his fourth. His sixth carry went for 17 on a zone-read run. Stewart was the focal point of Carolina's offense in this game, but did have a two-yard touchdown "vultured" by Cam Newton in the second quarter. Advice: Freeman busted through a seam on the right side of the Falcons' line, made the safety miss and raced 31-yards to the house to give the Falcons a 20-7 lead in the third quarter. It was probably the most impressive run by a Falcons back this season, but the coaching staff still limited Freeman's touches even with Steven Jackson (quad) sidelined. • DeMarco Murray officially active for Week 16
DeMarco Murray (hand) is officially active for Week 16 against the Colts.

Advice: As expected Murray will play, but he may be limited by the cast on his left hand. Lance Dunbar should see more work in the passing game while Joseph Randle could siphon off some carries as well. With both RT Doug Free (ankle) inactive and RG Zack Martin (ankle) banged up, Murray could also be hindered by the health of the Cowboys' offensive line. Even with all the concerns, Murray has proven this season is a must-start option. Along with Free, the Cowboys declared DE Kenneth Boatright, DT Josh Brent, DB Jakar Hamilton, T Donald Hawkins, QB Dustin Vaughn and OLB Dekoda Watson inactive for Week 16. Rotoworld.com

Rashad Jennings (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's Week 16 game at the Rams.

Advice: Jennings was ruled out early in the week, suggesting he's no lock to return for the meaningless Week 17 finale. Andre Williams will carry the mail in a tough spot at St. Louis Sunday. The rest of the Giants inactives: CB Jaron Hosley, LB james Davidson, OL Adam Gettis, OG Eric Herman, DT Dominique Hamilton, TE Jerome Cunningham. Rotoworld.com

Pierre Thomas exited Week 16 against the Falcons with a foot injury.

Advice: Thomas is out for the game. It is unclear when the injury occurred. Thomas' final touch of the game was a 16-yard screen catch in the middle of the first quarter. He did not appear to injury himself on the play. With Travaris Cadet inactive, Mark Ingram could see a bump in pass-game usage. Khiry Robinson will see a bump in snaps as well. Rotoworld.com

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer confirms DeMarco Murray (hand) is expected to play Sunday, "though his role will be limited some" in the passing game.

Advice: The concerns on Murray primarily involve his pass protection and receiving. It's quite possible he won't have a single reception in Week 16. Look for Patrick Daugherty's final rankings, which will be up on Rotoworld shortly. Rotoworld.com

    • Ronnie Hillman unlikely to play on MNF?
The Denver Post suggests the artificial turf at Cincinnati's Paul Brown Stadium makes it less likely Ronnie Hillman (questionable, foot) plays this week.

Advice: Hillman is "close" to returning, but the Broncos won't rush him back after doing so with Montee Ball (groin) and ultimately losing him for the season. "I'm better than I was," Hillman said. "Getting better. Progressing. I'm just waiting for them to say, 'You're up this week.' Whenever that happens, it happens. Playoffs, next week, I don't know." Look for Juwan Thompson to spend one more week as C.J. Anderson's primary breather back. Rotoworld.com

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports DeMarco Murray is "going to play" Sunday with a wrap on his surgically repaired hand, but the Cowboys are "nervous" about using him in pass protection.

Advice: RapSheet writes to not be surprised if Murray and other Cowboys rest next week if Dallas locks up a playoff spot today. On Sunday, we expect to see Lance Dunbar handle a few more snaps than usual in pass-pro situations. The Cowboys may also give Joseph Randle a heavier dose of change-up work. Murray is still a top-ten RB1 play against the Colts' leaky defense. Rotoworld.com

    • Report: Expecation is DeMarco Murray plays
ESPN's Ed Werder reports expectations are DeMarco Murray (hand, questionable) will play Week 16 against the Colts.

Advice: This report jibes with the general feeling around Cowboys' camp this week. Murray is fully expected to be active and start against the Colts, though he may lose some pass-game work to Lance Dunbar. Murray is a must start if active, but with RT Doug Free (ankle, doubtful) and RG Zack Martin (ankle, questionable) likely out, he may find less running room than usual against Indianapolis. DeMarco Murray (hand) is listed as questionable for Week 16 after getting in a third straight limited practice on Friday.

Advice: This was expected. It's also expected that Murray will be active and start Sunday's game versus the Colts. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor the situation and have Murray handcuffed with Joseph Randle, but it would be a major surprise if DeMarco weren't out there with the ones for Sunday's game. Advice: Rivera left open the possibility of Williams being active on game day as an "emergency back," but he's not going to be a factor unless other running backs get injured during the game. Jonathan Stewart is an RB2 against the Browns' weak run defense. Mike Tolbert will be second in line for backfield work. Rotoworld.com

Coach Ron Rivera announced Jonathan Stewart will start Week 16 against the Browns.

Advice: DeAngelo Williams (hand) will only be used in an "emergency," leaving Stewart to handle another 20-plus carries against a suspect Cleveland run defense. With Cam Newton back under center, it should open up more running lanes than Stewart saw with Derek Anderson in Week 15. Stewart is in the RB2 discussion. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Charles is banged up, but he's proven effective at playing through minor injuries. He's locked in as a top-three RB1 against the Steelers' soft defense. Coach Andy Reid often loses the plot, but we expect him to feed Charles in a game the Chiefs have to win. Rotoworld.com

DeAngelo Williams (hand) remained limited in Thursday's practice.

Advice: Barring a setback, D-Will should return after a two-game absence, though the Panthers aren't sure how he'll fare in the passing game. In theory, he'll cut into Jonathan Stewart's workload, but we wouldn't be surprised if Williams is nothing more than a breather option for J-Stew, who has run well in Williams' absence. • Broncos hoping Hillman returns to field soon
The Broncos hope to have Ronnie Hillman (foot) back "if not this week at Cincinnati then in the season finale."

Advice: The Broncos could put Hillman to use as a complement to C.J. Anderson, who's averaged an unruly 27.25 carries per game over the past month. Shifty and quick, Hillman would make more sense as a true change-of-pace than Juwan Thompson, who is a big back like Anderson. Even if Hillman plays Monday night at Cincinnati, it would be a surprise if he handled more than 7-9 touches. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Despite receiving good news following an MRI, it doesn't look like Hyde is going to be able to go on this short week.
