  • Brent Celek (back) probable for Sunday
Brent Celek (back) is listed as probable for Week 9 against the Texans.

Advice: Celek was limited earlier in the week, but will be good to go for Sunday's game. The Eagles' in-line tight end has 12 catches through seven games. Rotoworld.com

Travis Kelce (ribs) is listed as probable for Week 9.

Advice: Kelce has been playing through a rib issue, but it shouldn't impact his snaps. He's a TE1 with scoring upside against a Jets' secondary that's allowed seven passing touchdowns over the last two games. Rotoworld.com

  • Owen Daniels 'moves well' in practice
According to the Baltimore Sun, Owen Daniels (knee, questionable) "moved well" during the portion of Friday's practice that's open to the media.

Advice: Daniels is tentatively expected to be active for Sunday Night Football, but would most likely play on a limited basis. The mere possibility of Daniels returning removes Crockett Gillmore from Week 9 TE1 streamer consideration. Rotoworld.com

  • Owen Daniels a 'game-time decision'
The Ravens are calling Owen Daniels (knee) a "game-time decision" for Week 9 against the Steelers.

Advice: Daniels had his knee scoped last Friday. He may be active for Sunday's critical division game, but it's hard to imagine him playing a full complement of snaps. Although Crockett Gillmore didn't light up the box score in last week's start, he did make several impact blocks and caught both of his targets. Rotoworld.com

Travis Kelce (ribs) was upgraded to "full" in Thursday's practice.

Advice: It's a similar routine to the one he followed in Week 8 before suiting up. Going up against a Jets defense that bleeds passing touchdowns, Kelce is a strong bet to find the end zone. Rotoworld.com

Owen Daniels (knee) was downgraded to "DNP" on Thursday.

Advice: Daniels was shockingly "limited" on Wednesday after getting his knee scoped last Friday, but isn't a good bet to suit up for Sunday night's game against the Steelers. Even if the Ravens try to make it appears as if he'll play, he can't be relied on as a TE1 at far less than 100 percent health. Rotoworld.com

Travis Kelce (ribs) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Owen Daniels (knee) returned to practice Wednesday.

Advice: Daniels had his knee scoped on Friday. We find it hard to believe he's back on the field in such short order if he truly underwent a knee scope. Scopes typically require weeks of recovery, not five days. Daniels is also 32. His status for Week 9 against the Steelers is about as up in the air as it gets. Rotoworld.com

  • Jags to use more 2-TE sets when Lewis returns
The Florida Times Union believes it would be in the Jaguars' best interest to use more two-tight end sets when Mercedes Lewis (ankle) returns from short-term I.R.

Advice: Clay Harbor has posted a couple solid stat lines as Blake Bortles' security blanket in Lewis' absence. Harbor isn't much of a blocker, while Lewis is a stud in-line tight end. If the Jaguars choose to feature more two-tight looks, it could mean fewer snaps for rookie No. 3 receiver Allen Hurns. Allen Robinson and Cecil Shorts are entrenched as the Nos. 1 and 2 receivers. Advice: We're not sure Escobar even played a snap. We saw James Hanna on the field a couple times. Escobar has seen very limited playing time this season, but blew up for 65 yards and two touchdowns on three targets in Week 7. He's not a fantasy option. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Paul caught all three of his targets. Paul was also flagged for a holding penalty, negating a 10-yard Alfred Morris run. He remains a part of the offense, even with Jordan Reed back, but not a big enough one to warrant a fantasy roster spot. Rotoworld.com

Advice: The one-catch effort was Fleener's third of the season. With half the year now in the books, Fleener is on pace for a middling 36/436/6. He's an emergency fill-in for teams ravaged by byes. Rotoworld.com

Jared Cook caught one pass for 11 yards in the Rams' Week 8 loss to the Chiefs.

Advice: Cook was targeted just three times on a day where Austin Davis attempted 25 passes. Cook is usually a Davis favorite between the 20s before ceding targets to Lance Kendricks in the red zone. Kendricks managed to score a one-yard touchdown on the opening drive. • Kelce goes 4-45 in Week 8 beatdown of Rams
Travis Kelce caught four passes for 45 yards in the Chiefs' Week 8 beatdown of the Rams.

Advice: Kelce was targeted a team-high six times, along with Dwayne Bowe. He showed impressive YAC ability, shaking a couple Rams defenders out of their cleats on two occasions. Kelce was also stopped at the one-inch line in the second quarter before Jamaal Charles got the goal-line carry for the touchdown. Kelce remains a situational role player in Andy Reid's offense, but is still a boom-or-bust TE1. He'll be a recommended play against the Jets' inept pass defense next week. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Filling in for Kyle Rudolph (sports hernia), Ford has at least given the Vikings a chain-moving presence over the middle, albeit without much playmaking ability. Austin Seferian-Jenkins caught 3-of-4 targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in the Bucs' Week 8 loss to Minnesota.

Advice: Instead of ASJ's first career touchdown, the play that most will remember from this one was Seferian-Jenkins' game-ending fumble in overtime, which was returned by Anthony Barr 27 yards to the house, sealing the win for Minnesota. Seferian-Jenkins is a 22-year-old prospect with a ton of upside, but he's just a TE2 in fantasy leagues. The Bucs face the leaky Browns defense next. Rotoworld.com

Advice: The third-round rookie out of Colorado State was not a big factor on a day where Joe Flacco managed under 200 passing yards. • Ravens to start Crockett Gillmore at TE
The Ravens will start rookie Crockett Gillmore at tight end until Owen Daniels (knee scope) returns.

Advice: Daniels probably won't return for 2-4 weeks. Gillmore runs 4.89, but stands 6-foot-6, 260 and had impressive jumps of 10-foot in the broad and 33 1/2" in the vertical at February's Combine. As tight end is a huge part of OC Gary Kubiak's offense, Gillmore is worth a look for desperate TE1 streamers. He's big with long arms, reasonable athleticism, and should be a red-zone weapon. Advice: The Ravens are only saying Daniels will be out "at least one game," but he's much likelier to miss more. It's another big blow to OC Gary Kubiak's offense, which already lost Dennis Pitta for the season. Mostly a blocker to this point in Kubiak's offense, third-round rookie Crockett Gillmore will now take over as the Ravens' starting tight end, perhaps with FB Kyle Juszczyk and/or WR Marlon Brown taking on bigger roles in the passing game.
