Cardinals coach Bruce Arians suggested Friday that Drew Stanton (knee) could be active for Sunday's game versus Seattle to serve as Ryan Lindley's backup.

Advice: Arians confirmed Lindley will start. Stanton is dealing with ACL and MCL sprains in his knee, but the Cardinals obviously have very little confidence in rookie Logan Thomas. We still don't see any scenario where Stanton plays. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Rivera left open the possibility of Williams being active on game day as an "emergency back," but he's not going to be a factor unless other running backs get injured during the game. Coach Tom Coughlin said Corey Washington needs to practice better and do more on special teams to earn more offensive snaps.

Advice: With the Giants' season lost, Washington played just one snap last week against the Redskins and 54 in total as a rookie. "Do a better job on the practice field. Do a better job all around," Coughlin said. "He does have to, obviously, become better at his job." Coughlin says Washington knows the offense well enough to play. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Texans are leaning toward starting Case Keenum at quarterback for Week 16 against the Ravens.

Advice: As expected. Keenum simply knows the offense better as a whole than Thad Lewis. Keenum spent the summer with the Texans, while Lewis was signed just a few weeks ago. Neither Keenum nor Lewis would be on the fantasy radar. The Ravens may have a suspect secondary, but they have a dominant pass rush. Rotoworld.com

Cardinals QB Drew Stanton (sprained ACL, MCL) returned to practice Thursday, getting in a limited session.

Advice: It's an eye-brow raiser, but there's still little reason to believe Stanton will be ready to return just 10 days after spraining his knee. The Cardinals are likely just trying to confuse the situation for the Seahawks. It is a sign, however, that Week 17 could be a realistic possibility. Stanton's status will be updated on Friday, but we fully expect Ryan Lindley to be under center for Week 16. Rotoworld.com

CBS' Jason La Canfora says "every expectation" is that Case Keenum will start Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Advice: Bill O'Brien isn't tipping his hand between Keenum and Thad Lewis. But Keenum makes more sense as he was with the team throughout the offseason program and training camp before losing his backup job to Tom Savage and Ryan Mallett. However, Keenum was brutal in four preseason games going 28-of-52 (53.8%) for 254 yards (4.88 YPA) with zero touchdowns and two interceptions, good for a 51.3 passer rating. He's not even a two-quarterback league option against a Ravens defense that can cover their secondary woes with a swarming front seven. Rotoworld.com

RB Joseph Randle handled the first-team reps during the team portion of Wednesday's practice.

Advice: DeMarco Murray (hand) participated in individual drills and even caught some passes two days after surgery, putting him on track to play against the Colts. But if he can't, Randle would handle the majority of base back duties, including goal-line work. That's key as eight of DeMarco's 11 touchdowns this season have come from three yards out or closer. Advice: The Broncos could put Hillman to use as a complement to C.J. Anderson, who's averaged an unruly 27.25 carries per game over the past month. Shifty and quick, Hillman would make more sense as a true change-of-pace than Juwan Thompson, who is a big back like Anderson. However, coach Bruce Arians continues to insist he'll install a "package" of plays for Thomas against the Seahawks. It makes essentially no difference who gets the call against Seattle. Advice: Continuing to operate as Minnesota's feature back, Asiata got the Vikings on the board with a first-quarter two-yard touchdown run. The Vikings trust Asiata more than Ben Tate and Joe Banyard, particularly in pass protection. So that means Asiata will continue to get lead back work despite his ineffectiveness on the field. Filling in for an injured Drew Stanton (knee), Ryan Lindley completed 4-of-10 passes for 30 yards in the Cardinals' 12-6, Week 15 win over the Rams.

Advice: Stanton was injured early in the third quarter. Lindley has been on the roster for just 30 days, but got the call over fourth-round rookie Logan Thomas. It's possible coach Bruce Arians still views Thomas as his No. 2, but didn't want to throw him into the fire on the road against an elite defense. Lindley wasn't anything resembling functional, struggling to command the offense while making poor throws. Although he made four starts for the doomed 2012 Cardinals, he couldn't be considered a competent guiding hand were Stanton done for the season. Jonathan Stewart (hip) was upgraded to "full" on Thursday.

Advice: With DeAngelo Williams (hand) expected to miss his second-straight game, J-Stew can be fired up as an RB2 against the Bucs' leaky defense. Rotoworld.com

    • D-Will (hand) expected to miss another game
Panthers coach Ron Rivera expects DeAngelo Williams (hand) to miss Week 15.

Advice: "Probably" was Rivera's answer when asked if D-Will was another week away despite his Thursday return to practice. "Probably" from a coach equals "absolutely" in regular English. It's music to the ears of Jonathan Stewart owners, as he can be safely fired up as an RB2 against the Bucs. Rotoworld.com

    • Ronnie Hillman (foot) resumes practicing
Ronnie Hillman (foot) has resumed practicing.

Advice: Hillman got in limited sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. It's unclear if he'll be ready for Sunday's game against the Chargers, but a Week 16 return is more likely. Hillman is zero threat to C.J. Anderson's No. 1 status, and may even slide in behind Juwan Thompson on the depth chart. He's off the radar in 12-14 team re-draft leagues. Rotoworld.com

    • DeAngelo Williams back at Panthers practice
DeAngelo Williams (hand) returned to Panthers practice Thursday.

Advice: It puts Williams on track to return for Week 15 against the Bucs, which deflates Jonathan Stewart's balloon. Williams has shown nothing to warrant the amount of playing time he gets, but the Panthers love splitting the work between Williams and Stewart. We'd love to see Stewart get another 20-plus carries. • Roy Helu (toe) unable to practice Wednesday
Roy Helu (toe) did not practice Wednesday.

Advice: Helu is expected to miss at least one week with turf toe, and could be placed on injured reserve. Silas Redd will back up Alfred Morris against the Giants. Rotoworld.com

    • DeAngelo Williams still sidelined
DeAngelo Williams (hand) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.

Advice: The Panthers continue to call Williams day-to-day. Jonathan Stewart owners selfishly hope Williams misses Week 15 against the Bucs, allowing Stewart to handle feature-back duties. Williams' status will be updated again Thursday. Rotoworld.com

    • Panthers won't commit to Stewart as starter
Panthers coach Ron Rivera declined Monday to commit to Jonathan Stewart as his starter.

Advice: Although Stewart has been running at an elite level all year and put 20-155-1 on the Saints Sunday, the Panthers are clinging to DeAngelo Williams (questionable, hand). It's both strange and troubling. "We're not going to do things because it's what everybody expects or thinks," Rivera said when asked about making Stewart the unquestioned feature back. Stewart is a fine RB2 play in a home game against the Bucs for now, but we can't rule out Williams stealing carries if he suits up. Rotoworld.com
