  • Bills plan on Fred Jackson playing this week
The Bills are planning on Fred Jackson (questionable, groin) playing in Monday's game against the Jets.

Advice: Jackson didn't suffer any setbacks in practice and is on track to play this week. At less than 100 percent, he could be limited to third down work in a committee with Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon. Jackson is the No. 27 running back in Rotoworld's Week 12 rankings. Rotoworld.com

Speaking Thursday, coach Mike Pettine said Josh Gordon is "maybe little ahead of where we expected."

Advice: Gordon practiced Wednesday for the first time since August and it went well, with Brian Hoyer targeting him tons. Gordon's "pitch count" will be raised on Thursday, meaning the Browns will give him more reps ahead of Sunday's game against the Falcons. Pettine's pleasure with where Gordon is at physically and mentally right now bodes well for his chances of seeing something around 75-85 percent of the snaps in his 2014 debut. • Browns say Josh Gordon will be on pitch count
Coach Mike Pettine said Wednesday that Josh Gordon will be on a "pitch count" this week.

Advice: It's a bit unclear if Pettine was referring to practices or Sunday's game against the Falcons. What is clear is that he's trying to temper expectations. "There needs to be a progression. The trap to fall into is, 'Hey, he's back and let's just go ahead and throw him out there for a bunch of plays.' There's certainly danger inherent in doing that," said Pettine, who also talked to Ross Tucker about research the Browns have done on higher injury rates after long layoffs. We're not expecting Gordon to play 100 percent of the snaps Sunday after three months off, but even a limited Gordon is a must-play in season-long formats. On his other missed opportunity, Hunter could only get one foot down in bounds on the sideline. He continues to frustrate. Although coaches haven't been permitted to be in contact with him during the suspension, he has been allowed to work out at the facility and is reportedly in excellent shape. We'd expect him to hit the ground running in a Kyle Shanahan offense that is predicated on a strong run game and a voluminous/effective "X" receiver. Gordon can certainly be that, as evidenced by his jaw-dropping 87-1646-9 line in 14 games last season. Ingram has now gotten the ball a preposterous 116 times over the Saints' past four games, a number they know they have to rein in. It remains unclear when Pierre Thomas (shoulder) and Khiry Robinson (arm) will return, however. Either way, Ingram will be a solid RB2 for Week 12 against the Ravens. Rotoworld.com

  • Mark Ingram likely to hit FA market in 2015
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora expects contract-year RB Mark Ingram to reach the free-agent market.

Advice: The Saints are already projected to be over the 2015 salary cap, having a ton of money tied up in Drew Brees, the offensive line, Jairus Byrd, Jimmy Graham, and Junior Galette. Tagging Ingram at around $8 million also makes no sense. Ingram flipped the switch on his career late last season, and it's carried over into 2014. He'll likely seek upwards of $5 million annually on a long-term deal. Rotoworld.com

  • F-Jax would have played if not for short week
Coach Doug Marrone said Fred Jackson (groin) would have been active if the Bills played on Sunday.

Advice: Jackson was held out with Buffalo on a short week, but is on track play in Week 12. The Bills would have been better served resting Jackson in Week 10 knowing that they played on Thursday night. Jackson should handle the majority of carries when fully healthy, with Bryce Brown likely staying in a high-volume change of pace role. Rotoworld.com

  • Saints list Robert Meachem as questionable
Robert Meachem (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 11.

Advice: Even if Meachem manages to play, he'll be a non-factor on offense. Meachem has just five catches for 85 yards this season. Rotoworld.com

Khiry Robinson (arm) is listed as out for Week 11.

Advice: The Saints still have given no information on the extent of Robinson's injury, which he personally initially called a "boo-boo." We have to wonder if Robinson has a fractured arm at this point. He's now missed four games. Rotoworld.com

  • Gordon will return 'w/o restrictions' Monday
The NFL has confirmed that Josh Gordon will resume football activities "without restriction" when his suspension expires on Monday.

Advice: In other words, he'll be all systems go for Week 12 against the Falcons, and beyond. "(He) will be clear to resume normal activities without restriction," AFC director of football communications Jon Zimmer said. Gordon will immediately slot back in as a WR1 in fantasy leagues. We'll get a better feel for whether Gordon is a high- or low-end WR1 when we see how he's utilized and how often he's targeted. The Browns are playing run-heavy football this year, after leading the NFL in 2013 pass attempts. Rotoworld.com

  • Kyle Orton injures toe in Thursday loss
Kyle Orton suffered a toe injury in Thursday night's loss to the Dolphins.

Advice: He says he'll be fine. Asked if he was considering going back to E.J. Manuel for Week 11 against the Jets, coach Doug Marrone said, "No, right now, that hasn't crossed my mind." Orton has 10 days to rest up. Although he's been really bad the past couple games, he should remain under center in Week 12. Rotoworld.com

  • Shanahan 'can't wait' until Josh Gordon's back
Browns OC Kyle Shanahan said he "can't wait" until Josh Gordon is back from suspension next week.

Advice: "I can’t wait to get him back, looking forward to it," Shanahan said. "And as soon as he’s ready to go, we’ll make sure to work to get him the ball." Gordon has been around the team facility the past couple months, working out and catching passes off the Jugs machine, but he's eligible to return to the team Monday and get his first practice in Wednesday. Expect Gordon to slide right back in at X receiver, a position the Shanahan offense has targeted heavily in the past. He should be an immediate WR1. Rotoworld.com

  • Orton, Bills go quietly on road vs. Dolphins
Kyle Orton completed 22-of-39 passes for 193 yards, zero touchdowns and zero turnovers in Buffalo's 22-9, Week 11 loss to the Dolphins.

Advice: In a word, Orton was dismal. With the Dolphins' elite secondary wrapping up his receivers downfield, Orton never bothered to challenge, but was inaccurate at the short-to-intermediate levels. He rarely threw beyond the sticks, making big plays seem like a distant dream for the Bills' sputtering offense. Buffalo has now gone 114:51 without a touchdown, an unfathomable number. The Bills may spend some of their three days off considering going back to E.J. Manuel, but we'd expect Orton to be under center against the Jets' atrocious pass defense in Week 11. Rotoworld.com

  • Jackson aggravated groin injury vs. Chiefs
Fred Jackson aggravated his groin injury in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs.

Advice: In other words, Jackson's Thursday inactive wasn't just a matter of the Bills being on a short week. Jackson returned from his initial injury quicker than anticipated, and now it's costing him another game. He should be considered questionable for Week 12. Bryce Brown is getting the start against the Dolphins, but should rotate with Anthony Dixon. Rotoworld.com

  • F-Jax inactive for Thursday Night Football
Fred Jackson (groin) is inactive for Week 11 against the Dolphins.

Advice: F-Jax himself broke the news on Twitter. The short week was simply too much to overcome. It leaves Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon as the Bills' runners. Early-down back Dixon has the higher floor, but will likely find running lanes scarce against a Dolphins' run defense allowing only 3.9 yards per carry. Miami has surrendered just four rushing scores all year. Brown has the higher-ceiling as the Bills' pass-catching back. The Buffalo News' Tim Graham has gone as far as to recommend Brown as a PPR play, believing the Bills may focus on short passes since ground yards will be hard to come by. Neither player is a recommended RB2. Rotoworld.com

Mark Ingram (shoulder) remained limited on Thursday.

Advice: It's the same routine Ingram followed last week before touching the ball 30 times against the 49ers. He'll be good to go as an RB1 against the Bengals' struggling run defense. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Fred Jackson 'almost certainly' out
A source tells the Buffalo News that Fred Jackson (groin) almost certainly won't play in Thursday night's game at Miami.

Advice: The short week has proven too much to overcome for Jackson after he handled 26 snaps against the Chiefs Sunday. So the Bills will have to go into a pivotal division game with Anthony Dixon and Bryce Brown as their top-two backs. Look for the inside-running Dixon to draw the start, but we'd rather take a shot on Brown as the explosive back that's better in the pass game. Jackson owners need to sit tight in the hopes he gets to 100 percent for a tasty fantasy playoff schedule (vs. GB Week 15, at OAK Week 16). Rotoworld.com
