  • Report: Rookie K Cody Parkey wins roster spot
Undrafted rookie K Cody Parkey has reportedly made the Eagles' 53-man roster.

Advice: Alex Henery is now likely to be cut. Parkey was acquired from the Colts on August 20, and went 3-for-3 with two 50-plus yard field goals in the Eagles' final preseason game Thursday night. Parkey should be a solid streaming option in the Eagles' high-powered offense.

  • Patrick Murray wins Bucs kicking job
Undrafted rookie Patrick Murray appears to have won the Bucs' kicking job.

Advice: Connor Barth was cut Friday, leaving Murray as Tampa's lone placekicker. The Bucs reportedly appreciate Murray's "toughness and versatility." He comes from Fordham, where Murray was an All-American punter and kicker. Barring a free agent signing, Murray should be on the radar for K1 streamers this year.

  • Randy Bullock wins Texans kicker job
Randy Bullock has sewn up the Texans' kicking job.

Advice: The club waived competitor Chris Boswell on Friday afternoon. Bullock was a perfect 3-of-3 on field goals this preseason, and also produced four touchbacks on nine kickoff attempts. He's on the K1 streamer radar this season.

  • Cody Parkey has big night, Henery in trouble
Eagles K Cody Parkey went 3-of-3 on field goals in Thursday night's preseason finale, including two from 50-plus.

Advice: This should be the end of the Alex Henery era in Philadelphia. The shaky Henery has never made a single field goal longer than 51 yards in his career, and Parkey goes out and makes one from 53 and another from 54. We'll know for certain on Saturday, but it's looking like kicker streamers can turn to Parkey.

  • Caleb Sturgis resumes kicking finally
Dolphins K Caleb Sturgis (groin) resumed kicking Tuesday.

Advice: Sturgis is in a rush to get back on the field as he tries to hang on to his job. The 2013 fifth-rounder was a disappointment as a rookie, going 26-of-34 (76.4 percent) on field goals. Fantasy owners should be aiming for safer options even if Sturgis gets his groin right.

  • Alex Henery on thin ice in Philly
Eagles K Alex Henery is 1-of-3 on field goals this preseason.

Advice: Henery is on thin ice in Philly, as evidenced by last week's trade for Cody Parkey. The incumbent remains the favorite, but we'd look for a kicker carrying more confidence into Week 1 for our fantasy roster.

  • Rian Lindell working out for Titans Wednesday
Free agent K Rian Lindell will work out for the Titans on Wednesday.

  • Broncos acquire K Brandon McManus from Giants
Broncos acquired K Brandon McManus from the Giants in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick.

Advice: The Giants were going to cut McManus, so they do well to get something back. McManus has made both of his field goal attempts this preseason and produced 10 touchbacks on 11 kickoffs. He'll fill in for suspended Matt Prater.

  • Free agent K Jay Feely visiting Titans
Free agent K Jay Feely will visit the Titans on Tuesday.

Advice: The Titans have a couple no-name kickers, Maikon Bonani and Travis Coons, in camp competing for the job at the moment. Feely was bad for the Cardinals last season and wasn't much better this summer. He's 38 years old.

Giants waived or released K Brandon McManus, CB Charles James, LB Spencer Adkins, CB Ross Weaver, CB Kyle Sebetic, DE Emmanuel Dieke, OG John Sullen, WR Travis Harvey, S C.J. Barnett, DT Everett Dawkins, and TE Jerome Cunningham.

Advice: McManus gave Josh Brown a run for his money, nailing 2-of-2 field goals with 10 touchbacks on kickoffs. He'll likely get a look from a kicker-needy team.

  • Josh Brown wins Giants' kicking job
Josh Brown has won the Giants' kicker job.

Advice: K Brandon McManus was cut Tuesday after going 2-of-2 on field goals and producing 10 touchbacks on 11 kickoffs this preseason. Brown nailed his lone field goal attempt and all 10 extra points. He's a middling fantasy option.

  • Dolphins waive/injure K John Potter
    Dolphins waived/injured K John Potter.

Advice: Potter was competing with Caleb Sturgis, but was sidelined by a thigh/hip injury. Considering the league-wide carnage at kicker, Potter might not make it through waivers unclaimed, but his health will be key. Even if Potter does revert to injured reserve, he should eventually be released with an injury settlement.

  • Cardinals release longtime kicker Jay Feely
    Cardinals released K Jay Feely.

Advice: 38-year-old Feely sealed his fate by missing a 48-yarder in Sunday's preseason game against the Bengals. UDFA Chandler Catanzaro is cheaper, kicked better this preseason and has a stronger leg on kickoffs. The Broncos shouldn't be falling over themselves to sign Feely, who went 30-of-36 for the Cardinals last season. Denver starter Matt Prater is on a four-game suspension.

  • Nate Freese wins DET's kicking job
Nate Freese has won the Lions' placekicking job for now.

Advice: Giorgio Tavecchio was released Monday. The Lions could still bring in another veteran that shakes loose, but they used a seventh-round pick on Freese -- who went 20-of-20 for Boston College last season. He's on the fantasy radar thanks to dome conditions and the Lions' explosive offense.

  • Dan Bailey hot from 50+ yards out
Dan Bailey is 3-of-3 on field goals of 50+ yards this preseason.

Advice: Bailey has developed into one of the league's premier long-ball kickers, as he went 6-of-7 from 50+ last season. With ideal home kicking conditions and an explosive offense, he's an excellent weekly option for fantasy owners -- especially those that get bonus points for length.

  • Broncos K Prater was facing year-long ban
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Broncos K Matt Prater was facing a year-long suspension before his attorney got it reduced to four games.

Advice: Prater has been in the league's drug program since 2011. This report suggests he's had multiple strikes. Prater has a booming leg and is the consensus top fantasy kicker. He'll miss the first four games of the season before returning in Week 6. Look for the Broncos to sign a veteran kicker in the coming days.

  • Broncos K Matt Prater suspended four games
NFL suspended Broncos K Matt Prater four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy.

Advice: According to the Denver Post, the violation was "alcohol-related." Prater has been in the league's alcohol program since August 2011, when he was charged with DUI. It's a major fantasy blow, as Prater has one of the league's biggest legs, and is kicking for its best offense. He was Rotoworld's No. 2 kicker. Prater's backup is undrafted rookie Mitch Ewald, but the Broncos will likely search for a veteran fill-in. Prater's track record is such that his roster spot shouldn't be in danger. He is eligible to return in Week 6, as the Broncos are on bye in Week 4. Prater is no longer draftable in standard fantasy leagues.

Eagles acquired K Cody Parkey from the Colts in exchange for RB David Fluellen.

Dolphins K Caleb Sturgis' roster spot is in danger as he battles a groin injury.

Advice: Sturgis - who also battled groin issues in camp last season - is facing heat from John Potter. Sturgis was 26-of-34 on field-goal attempts as a rookie, putting him below the desired 80 percent threshold.
