  • Saints expected to go back to RB timeshare
ESPN Saints reporter Mike Triplett to "return to some form of timeshare" when Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas return from their injuries.

Advice: Robinson and Thomas have missed each of New Orleans' last two games, creating a perfect storm for Mark Ingram. Coach Sean Payton was asked following Thursday night's win over Carolina whether Ingram has earned a larger share. "Listen, he certainly is," said Payton. "Yet the key is just the durability. But he's been outstanding. I think that Sunday and then what he did last night, those are a lot of touches. And so we're gonna have to, as we get guys healthy, break those up. • Bengals express confidence in Jeremy Hill
Bengals OC Hue Jackson expressed confidence Friday that Jeremy Hill will be a capable lead back in the absence of Gio Bernard (shoulder/hip).

Advice: "I feel good that if it happened that way, that [Hill] would go in there and do the job," Jackson said. ESPN Bengals reporter Coley Harvey expects Cedric Peerman and Rex Burkhead to also supply "production from the running back position" off the bench, although Hill has shown capable of being a true every-down back and is the heavy favorite for touches. Keep in mind the Jaguars have allowed just 3.44 YPC and one rushing score to opposing running backs over their last five games, and Cincinnati's struggling run-blocking unit will be without RG Kevin Zeitler (calf). Advice: Green was technically "limited" in all three practices, but he's on course to start. "If everything stays the way it is, he'll play," Lewis said. The Bengals should be thankful to have gone 1-1-1 without Green in the lineup, including getting a critical division victory over the Ravens last week. Advice: Tony Romo (back), of course, missed the entire week of practice. We were quite surprised when Jerry Jones essentially put the onus on Romo to play, deeming his availability a matter of "pain tolerance." • Hammer time: Ingram slams CAR for 30/100/2
Mark Ingram rushed 30 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns in New Orleans' Week 9 win over the Panthers, adding a 10-yard reception.

Advice: Ingram got the ball on New Orleans' first two plays from scrimmage and never looked back, becoming the first Saint since Deuce McAllister in 2006 to notch back-to-back 100-yard days on the ground. The 3.3 YPC was mildly disappointing against a Panthers team surrendering a league-worst 5.2 yards per carry, but Ingram was dialed up in a host of predictable running situations. He now has 54 carries for 272 yards and three touchdowns in the past five days. Ingram has a tough Week 10 matchup in the 49ers, but will be a locked-in RB2. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Gruden believes his quarterback is "100 percent" physically. Getting in a "full" practice on Thursday, RGIII took the "majority" of the first-team reps over Colt McCoy after splitting them on Wednesday. The Cincinnati Enquirer's Richard Skinner wrote on Twitter Wednesday that Giovani Bernard has a "hip pointer" and his clavicle is "bothering him," and Bernard "could miss Sunday('s)" game against the Jaguars.

Advice: The clavicle is the collarbone. We've known about that injury for a few weeks. The hip pointer is what kept Bernard out for the final 7-8 minutes of last week's win over Baltimore. The Bengals play the Browns on Thursday Night Football in Week 10, so it's conceivable that they will consider holding him out of Sunday's game in an effort to get him back for a key divisional matchup with 4-3 Cleveland. • A.J. Green (toe) back at practice Wednesday
A.J. Green (toe) returned to practice Wednesday, getting in a limited session.

Advice: It's Green's first Wednesday practice in about a month. He's going to try and play this week against the Jaguars. Green says if he plays, he's not going to be on a snap count. Hopefully he'll be able to avoid setbacks throughout the practice week. Owners need to sit tight. We'll provide constant updates. Rotoworld.com

Tony Romo (back) is not practicing Wednesday.

Advice: Not a surprise. Romo likely won't practice at all this week with the Cowboys calling him day-to-day with his back contusion. Romo is already shaping up as a full-blown game-time decision for Week 9 against the Cardinals. Jerry Jones has said Romo's status will be determined on how much pain Romo can handle. Rotoworld.com

  • Romo's status will be based on pain tolerance
Jerry Jones said Tony Romo's Week 9 status will be based on "pain tolerance," and Romo could be a "game-time decision."

Advice: Early Wednesday, ESPN's Ed Werder passed along an "emerging possibility" that Romo "will miss time," perhaps 1-2 games. At this point, the Cowboys don't know if Romo will be available to play against the Cardinals. We'd consider Romo very likely to sit out all of the practice week, with Brandon Weeden taking the first-team reps. Fantasy owners should have quarterback alternatives in place. The 6-2 Cowboys can't afford to take chances with Romo. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Romo 'remains in doubt' for Week 9
Profootballtalk reports Tony Romo (back) "remains in doubt" for Week 9 against the Cardinals.

Advice: After an optimistic start to the week with the Cowboys saying Romo is dealing with a mere "back contusion" and negative X-rays, reports have become less glowing. While Romo's injury isn't considered severe, now that the pain killers have worn off, Romo is very likely quite sore. NFL Network's Albert Breer adds Romo is "no sure thing" for Week 9, and the Cowboys are taking a "day-to-day approach" with their quarterback. Brandon Weeden would get the start if Romo can't play. • Report: Romo 'questionable at best' for Wk 9
Ian Fitzsimmons of ESPN Radio in Dallas is "told" Tony Romo is "questionable at best" to play in Week 9 against the Cardinals after suffering a back injury in Monday night's loss to the Redskins.

Advice: Romo was in so much pain Monday night that he is likely very sore early this week, and could miss all three Cowboys practices. Per Fitzsimmons, Romo's "season is not in jeopardy," but missing Week 9 is a real possibility. The Cowboys are 6-2 and can't afford to a setback that would cost their quarterback significant time. If Romo were unable to go, the Cowboys would start Brandon Weeden and likely ride their already high-volume running game relentlessly. We'll have updates on Romo's outlook throughout the week. • Romo's back injury not related to 2013 issue
Speaking at Tuesday's presser, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said Tony Romo's back injury is not related to the back issue that ended his 2013 season and required surgery.

Advice: "It appears to be a separate injury, not related to what he had last year," were Garrett's exact words. It's obviously encouraging news, but the Cowboys are still awaiting Romo's MRI results. It's not a slam dunk that he'll be ready for Week 9 despite returning to Monday's loss to the Redskins. We should have a much firmer idea of Romo's status 24 hours from now. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Gruden did say that Griffin is "very, very, very close," and that he'll be re-evaluated after Wednesday's practice. RGIII looked good working out before Monday's win over the Cowboys, but the 3-5 Redskins wisely aren't taking any chances with their franchise quarterback. Travaris Cadet mixed in on passing downs, but received just five touches. • Giovani Bernard seems fine after hip scare
Giovani Bernard held court with reporters following Sunday's win over Baltimore, after missing most of the fourth quarter with a hip injury.

Advice: Bernard didn't play in the final eight minutes. Neither Bernard nor coach Marvin Lewis was even asked about the injury, suggesting there were no indications Gio was significantly injured. It's worth noting that Bernard missed time in Week 6 with a shoulder/collarbone injury, was limited in practice after Week 7 with a rib injury, and now suffered the hip injury against the Ravens. Gio is currently on pace for 250 carries but only 51 receptions, five fewer than Bernard notched in a lesser role as a rookie. Britt's big play was an opening-drive 43-yard pickup on 3rd-and-1 to help set up Lance Kendricks' one-yard touchdown. Justin Forsett gained 68 yards on 17 carries and caught 3-of-5 targets for 17 yards in the Ravens' Week 8 loss to the Bengals.

Advice: Forsett did his part by ripping off chain-moving runs in Baltimore's feature back role, but was vultured twice on red-zone carries by emerging rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro. Forsett is an every-week RB2/flex in fantasy leagues, but falls well short of RB1 status because he is not a good bet for weekly touchdowns. He was getting vultured by Bernard Pierce even before Taliaferro came on. Forsett does get a tasty Week 9 matchup against a Pittsburgh defense that struggles with zone-running games like Baltimore's. Arian Foster rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries in the Texans' 30-16, Week 8 win over the Titans, adding four catches for 22 yards and another touchdown.

Advice: Foster managed just 36 yards on his first 10 carries, but broke a 34-yard touchdown and had no trouble finding holes in the Tennessee defense from there on. Foster caught a five-yard touchdown on a little flare-out route in the third quarter before cashing in from one yard out on the ground later. Foster has now gone over 100 yards in 6-of-7 starts this season. If not for DeMarco Murray, we'd all be talking about Foster. Advice: Hill flashed pile-moving power when he had a little space to operate, but holes were few and far between behind an O-Line that lost OG Kevin Zeitler during the course of the game, and also is getting poor play from rookie C Russell Bodine. As Giovani Bernard exited (hip) Sunday's game in the fourth quarter, Hill finished up as the Bengals' feature back. You know, it's a very difficult position to play, and just because he's healthy, he hasn't taken a meaningful rep in about six weeks," Gruden said. All we know right now is that Colt McCoy will almost certainly start in Dallas on Monday night, making the Cowboys an excellent D/ST streamer. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: 'No chance' RG3 plays MNF vs. Dallas
Dianna Marie Russini of NBC Washington reports there's "NO chance" Robert Griffin III (ankle) plays Monday night's Week 8 game against the Cowboys.

Advice: RGIII took the first rep at Wednesday's practice, but the Redskins don't start their official practice week until Thursday this week because of Monday night's game. Coach Jay Gruden made Colt McCoy instead of RGIII available to the media, and said he wants to have a starter in place by Thursday afternoon, suggesting it will be McCoy. RGIII will shoot for a Week 9 return at Minnesota. Rotoworld.com
