The Redskins aren't ruling Robert Griffin III (ankle) for Week 8, but he has a "long way to go."

Advice: "He's got to be 100 percent," coach Jay Gruden said at Monday's presser. Gruden went on to say that Colt McCoy will get the starter's reps in this week's practices, and be under center against the Cowboys if RGIII isn't ready to go. It sounds like Griffin is highly unlikely for Week 8, though he does have an extra day to heal up with the Redskins playing on Monday Night Football. Rotoworld.com

Coach told me there's no reason to back out there," he said. Before leaving, Richardson looked as impressive as he has in two years, totaling 118 yards on 18 touches. • F-Jax on Bryce Brown: He's an every-down back
When asked about Bryce Brown, Fred Jackson said he's "an every-down back."

Advice: "We won't miss a beat," Jackson said. Although Anthony Dixon is under the impression he'll be a workhorse now, he's more likely to stick in a big back and special teams role while serving as the complement. Brown struggled with fumbles and bouncing too many runs outside as an Eagle, but is excellent in the pass game and has serious juice in his legs. On 190 career NFL carries, he's produced 878 yards (4.62 YPC) and six touchdowns. With C.J. Spiller out for the season and F-Jax sidelined as much as a month, Brown is a plug-n-play RB2. The 49ers abandoned the run in the second half, with Carlos Hyde getting the majority of work over Gore late in the game. Gore is averaging just 4.1 YPC and has one touchdown in seven games. He was able to take advantage of being matched up with a less than fully healthy Tramaine Brock for most of the game. Thomas beat Perrish Cox deep down the field for his second score. Advice: Spiller will have surgery Monday to repair a broken collarbone sustained in Sunday's win over the Vikings. It's awful timing, as he was just about to get a big chance with Fred Jackson suffering a serious groin injury. Advice: Brown has been inactive in all seven games so far this season. But the Bills lost Fred Jackson (groin) and C.J. Spiller (broken collarbone) on Sunday, leaving Brown as the next man up. A talented runner that was acquired in an offseason trade, Brown looms as the most sought-after waiver wire add this week. He's rushed 190 times for 878 yards (4.62 YPC) with six touchdowns in his NFL career. This preseason, Brown rushed 34 times for 152 yards (4.47 YPC) and caught eight passes for 68 yards. Trent Richardson left Sunday's Week 7 game against the Bengals with a hamstring injury and will not return.

Advice: Richardson tweaked his hammy near the end of the third quarter and the Colts quickly went up 24-0 after that. It's unclear if he has a serious pull or the trainers are just playing it safe with the game in hand. Before the injury, Richardson actually looked really spry, repeatedly using the R1 button to juke away from defenders and showing good skills in the pass game. He finished with 14 carries for 77 yards and four catches for 41 yards. It's the first time T-Rich went over 100 total yards all season. • 'No guarantee' Bryce Brown will play in 2014
According to ESPN's Adam Caplan, "there's no guarantee" Bryce Brown will play at all for the Bills this season.

Advice: Brown doesn't play special teams, so he's technically Buffalo's No. 4 running back behind Fred Jackson, C.J. Spiller, and Anthony Dixon. The Bills traded a fourth-round pick to acquire Brown this offseason. It's fair to wonder if they're regretting that decision now. Brown remains a hold in Dynasty leagues, but he's barely worth a roster spot in 14- and 16-team re-draft formats. He needs F-Jax or Spiller to suffer an injury to get active. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Spiller played just 12 snaps last week, and was benched for most of the second half after losing a fumble. It confirms an earlier report that the BIlls want to keep feeding Spiller, and have no plans to reduce his workload. Advice: Spiller played a season-low 12 snaps last week. He had at least 13 touches in his first five games, and should similar workloads going forward despite his struggles. Spiller's Week 6 snap total was the result of getting benched for most of the second half after losing a fumble. Advice: Spiller is only playing about one-third of the offensive snaps, so it's hard to blame him for trying to make big plays. Unfortunately, the Bills offensive coaches have zero clue how to use the 27-year-old and insist on banging him between the tackles. It's translated to a meager 3.44 YPC and zero touchdowns on 68 totes. He hasn't found the end zone since a catch-and-run score in Week 1. We selfishly can't wait for Spiller to escape Buffalo. Advice: If this were the NBA or MLB, Spiller's name would be splattered all over the news as the Oct. 28 trade deadline approaches. He's a talented player who is in the final year of his deal and grossly underperforming (3.44 YPC) while seeing his playing time severely slashed (12 snaps in Week 6). • Ryan Mathews (MCL) still not cleared to run
Ryan Mathews (MCL) still hasn't been cleared to resume running.

Advice: Exactly one month removed from his MCL sprain, Mathews won't play in Week 7 and doesn't sound like a lock for Week 8, either. The Chargers' bye isn't until Week 10. "When they think it's time for me to start running, then it's time to start running," Mathews said, referring to team doctors. "It's all in their hands." San Diego's Week 8 game against Denver is on a Thursday night, meaning the turnaround will be quick following Sunday's Week 7 game, reducing the chances of a Mathews return. Advice: Gruden said that could happen in one week, or it could be five weeks. But it's clear at the moment RGIII is going to get the starts under center in Washington once healthy. Kirk Cousins has "led" the Redskins to four consecutive losses, but there's always a chance he could catch fire and force Gruden to keep him in the lineup. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the 49ers informed Frank Gore in the offseason that he had to earn his roster spot in training camp after the team drafted Carlos Hyde.

Advice: On the surface, it comes as a bit of a shock. But considering Gore is 31 and carries a $6.45 million salary, it's not that surprising. Gore is averaging two fewer carries per game this season compared to last, and we'd expect his carries total to dip deeper into the season. It's probably a good idea to sell Gore in re-draft. • Redskins don't know when RG3 will return
The Redskins "still aren't sure" when Robert Griffin III will return from his dislocated ankle.

Advice: It isn't as if the Skins have a timetable but aren't revealing it. They genuinely don't know when RG3 will be back. "As far as taking practice reps, that will be at least another week," coach Jay Gruden said Monday. "[Wednesday] will be the first step and next week maybe we'll try to get him in practice situations and see where he is." Griffin will perform some individual drills this week. He won't begin team reps until before Week 8 at the soonest. Rotoworld.com

  • RG3 ticketed for individual drills next week
Redskins coach Jay Gruden expects Robert Griffin III (ankle) to resume individual drills next week.

Advice: Gruden even left open the possibility that RGIII could get a few team reps. With Kirk Cousins playing extremely up-and-down football in RGIII's absence, the Redskins aren't going to stagger his return. The absolute earliest Griffin is likely to come back is Week 9, but he'll probably remain sidelined through Washington's Week 10 bye. Rotoworld.com

  • DeAngelo Williams to miss a couple more weeks
DeAngelo Williams (ankle) is expected to miss a couple more weeks.

Advice: Williams suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 4. He's going to get beat back into the lineup by Jonathan Stewart (knee), who is expected to practice Wednesday and has an excellent chance to start against the Packers in Week 7. Williams, who will just be a low-upside committee back even once he gets healthy, is a RB4/5 kind of hold. Rotoworld.com

  • Demaryius Thomas drops 10/124/1 on Jets
Demaryius Thomas caught 10-of-12 targets for 124 yards and a touchdown in Denver's Week 6 win over the Jets.

Advice: Thomas caught a 54-yard pass on Denver's first play from scrimmage, and never looked back en route to his second consecutive 120-yard effort. Thomas now has 18 grabs for 350 yards and three touchdowns since the Broncos' Week 4 bye, and has squashed any concern there was about him falling from the ranks of the elite WR1s. San Francisco won't be able to stop him next Sunday night. Rotoworld.com

  • Ronnie Hillman totals 116 yards versus Jets
Starting in place of Montee Ball, Ronnie Hillman rushed 24 times for 100 yards in the Broncos' Week 6 win over the Jets, adding three receptions for an additional 16 yards.

Advice: Hillman monopolized the Broncos' running back touches, getting 27 to Juwan Thompson's eight. If C.J. Anderson played a snap, we didn't see it. Going up against one of the league's better run defenses, it was easily the most productive game by a Broncos back this season. Hillman, who's been mistake prone in the past, nearly cost himself dearly with a third-quarter fumble, but the Broncos recovered. Coach John Fox decided it was no harm, no foul, and continued to feed Hillman down the stretch. Ticketed for another start in Week 7, Hillman will be a low-end RB2 against the 49ers' strong run defense. Rotoworld.com

  • V-Jax catches just 4-of-13 targets in Week 6
Vincent Jackson caught just four passes for 66 yards in the Bucs' Week 6 loss to the Ravens.

Advice: Jackson was targeted a team-high 13 times, so he continues to dominate looks under Mike Glennon's watch at quarterback. They didn't translate too much, though Jackson did have a 30-yard touchdown catch called back when he couldn't get both feet down in bounds. We still like Jackson as a weekly high-end WR2 as long as Glennon is under center. It's unclear if he or Josh McCown will get the start when the Bucs come out of their Week 7 bye. Rotoworld.com

  • It's so easy: Julius rings up two more TDs
Julius Thomas caught 4-of-6 targets for 51 yards and two touchdowns in Denver's Week 6 win over the Jets.

Advice: A CBS mic caught Thomas screaming "it's so easy!" after he whipped Darrin Walls for his second touchdown. The scores were Thomas' eighth and ninth of the season, putting him on pace for an astronomical 29. We're obviously not expecting him to reach that number, but 20 shouldn't be considered out of reach. With Jimmy Graham banged up and Rob Gronkowski still not himself, Thomas has No. 1 overall tight end status in his sights. Rotoworld.com

Redskins declared QB Robert Griffin III, WR Aldrick Robinson, CB Tracy Porter, LB Perry Riley, LB Jackson Jeffcoat, OG Spencer Long, and OT Morgan Moses inactive for Week 6 against the Cardinals.

Advice: Griffin (ankle) did some running and throwing on the field during pre-game warmups Sunday, but remains out indefinitely. Kirk Cousins' performance over the next few games will determine whether RG3 has any opportunity to regain the Redskins' starting job when healthy. Rotoworld.com

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports both Vincent Jackson (ribs) and Mike Evans (groin) are expected to play Week 6 vs. the Ravens.

Advice: Neither player's status was in serious doubt despite the questionable tags. Jackson will do battle with Ravens top CB Jimmy Smith. We still like him as a high-end WR2. Evans ended up missing just one game with his groin issue. Rotoworld.com

  • 49ers do not want to run Gore into the ground
49ers OC Greg Roman said the team is deliberately limiting Frank Gore's carries this season.

Advice: "We don't want to just ride that stallion all day, every day," Roman said. "There's a point of diminishing returns at some point." Gore's 77 carries are his second-fewest attempts through five games in his career, while Colin Kaepernick is on pace to throw 64 more times this season than he did in 2013. Gore has seen an uptick in his usage the last two games, getting 24 carries against Philadelphia Week 4 and 18 against the Chiefs last week. Coincidently, both were wins for the 3-2 49ers. Gore should continue to see around 15 carries a game, and will remain a solid RB2 as long as he is healthy. Rotoworld.com

  • Broncos to use 'hot hand' approach at RB?
The Broncos' official website hinted Denver could use a "hot hand" approach at running back against the Jets.

Advice: "If any specific runner can heat up against the Jets' run defense," DenverBroncos.com's Andrew Mason said, "the Broncos will be best served by riding him for as long as possible." Ronnie Hillman is expected to get the start, but C.J. Anderson and rookie Juwan Thompson will get early work as well. Hillman is still the best fantasy play of the three, but he is nothing more than an RB3/FLEX play against the Jets' tough run defense. Rotoworld.com

  • Toby Gerhart has been injured since Week 1
The foot injury Toby Gerhart aggravated in practice this week has plagued him since Week 1 against the Eagles.

Advice: "It's something that's been dragging on since the horse collar at Philly," said Gerhart. There were whispers Gerhart suffered a high ankle sprain when he was horse collared on Opening Day. "Trying to push through it and starting to feel good and then have a play and it takes a step back." Rookie Storm Johnson will get his chance to run with the Jaguars' tailback job in Week 6. • Storm Warning? Gerhart (foot) out for Week 6
Toby Gerhart (foot) has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Titans.

Advice: Gerhart sprained his foot last Sunday, got in a full practice Wednesday, but suffered a setback and will not play. Look for rookie Storm Johnson to handle the early-down work and possibly see 12-15 carries in what should be a competitive football game between two bad teams. Johnson is worth grabbing in 12-team leagues. He easily could take off with the lead-back job in Jacksonville. Rotoworld.com

Vincent Jackson (ribs) returned to practice Friday.

Advice: He appears ready to go for Week 6 against the Ravens. Jackson's game has unsurprisingly risen to another level with Mike Glennon at quarterback, but he gets a tough matchup with Baltimore top CB Jimmy Smith. V-Jax is a WR2. Rotoworld.com

  • Gerhart (foot) has setback, misses practice
Toby Gerhart (foot) did not practice again on Friday.

Advice: The Florida Times Union confirmed Gerhart suffered a setback in Wednesday's practice after he sprained his foot last Sunday against the Steelers. He's missed practice each of the past two days and is looking like a game-time decision at best for Week 6. The AP's Mark Long quipped there may be a "Storm warning" coming to Nashville. He's alluding to rookie Storm Johnson, who would likely assume early-down duties for the Jaguars against the Titans should Gerhart sit. Rotoworld.com

The Florida Times Union confirms Toby Gerhart (foot) suffered a setback in Wednesday's practice.

Advice: Gerhart was downgraded from "full" on Wednesday to "DNP" on Thursday. We'll have to see how Friday's practice shakes out, but it looks like there's a chance Gerhart may miss Week 6. Storm Johnson is the favorite to lead the Jaguars in carries against the Titans. He'd be worth a look as a cheap FanDuel option. Rotoworld.com

  • T-Rich wheezes to 41 yards on 17 carries
Trent Richardson rushed 17 times for 41 yards and a touchdown in Indy's Week 6 win over the Texans.

Advice: At the risk of sounding overly harsh, it was another pathetic effort from a player who is now averaging 3.22 yards through his first 87 carries. Richardson had a few nice runs where he managed to get upfield — never longer than nine yards, of course — but largely stalled the Colts' offense whenever he got the ball. T-Rich continued his habit of getting rag-dolled backward whenever he tried to go east-west. He's obviously the Colts' second-best runner behind Ahmad Bradshaw, but Bradshaw's injury history is such that Indy has to keep Richardson involved. T-Rich will be a touchdown-dependent RB3 when the Colts take on the Bengals in Week 7. Rotoworld.com
