John's Team Gets Win over Jeremy's Team, Evicts Them from First

    Week 12

    • John's Team

    • Weekly Grade: A-
    • 108.42
    • Jeremy's Team
    • 9-3
    • Weekly Grade: C
    • 83.42

John's Team (fourth place, 8-4, 1,164.94 points) knocks Jeremy's Team (9-3, 1,232.66 points) out of the league's top spot after beating them 108.42 to 83.42. Demaryius Thomas led John's Team with 26.70 points while Jimmy Graham scored 16.70. John's Team is playing with house money now after clinching a spot in the playoffs. This win was revenge for a Week 3 97.84 to 70.10 loss to Jeremy's Team. When assigning blame following this loss, Jeremy's Team can look in the mirror. They started a player with zero points (Julius Thomas).

    Smooth Moves by John's Team

    • Jimmy Graham had the most points of any TE in the league this week with 16.70.
    • Demaryius Thomas brought in 26.70 points, which was good enough to rank fourth in the league in scoring this week and fifth-best of any player on John's Team this season.
    • Put K Blair Walsh on the bench, where he had the lowest K score on the team with 9.00 points.
    • The Houston Texans Defense has now overachieved in three straight games after scoring 9.00 points against a projected 7.00.
    • The 12.00 points scored by Justin Tucker outpaced his 8.14-point scoring projection by 47.5%.

    Toyota Roster Tune-up

    • Remember that thing Jeremy's Team did instead of reading the expert articles from the Hall Of Fame? Shouldn't have done that.
    • A heated blanket would be a great gift for Andre Johnson during this cold streak. He scored below his projection in five straight games after scoring 3.60 points against a projected 10.01 this week.
    • With 14.30 points against a projected 19.77, DeMarco Murray did not meet his projection for the third straight game.
    • The WRs on Jeremy's Team let them down, resulting in a 46.90 - 15.40 difference at the position.
    • Jeremy's Team had 6 of their 9 starters score less than their projected points.

    What If

    • If John's Team played Jeremy's Team every week, they would be 6-6 this season.
    • Besides Jeremy's Team, John's Team would have defeated six other teams this week.
    • Had they played each other last week, John's Team would have defeated Jeremy's Team 111.98 - 99.82.
    • John's Team would be 6-4 if they played the same schedule as Jeremy's Team.
    • If John's Team had played every team in the league each week, they would be 65-43.
    • Jeremy's Team would have lost to five other teams besides John's Team this week.
    • If they played the same schedule as John's Team, Jeremy's Team would be 7-3.
    • Jeremy's Team would be 70-38 if they played every team every week.

    Game Notes

    • The manager of John's Team was probably the person who destroyed the curve on every test in school. They scored 108.42 points against a projected 100.26 and beat their scoring projection for the ninth time this season, including the last four weeks in a row.
    • John's Team won again and is on a five-game winning streak, currently the longest in the league.
    • Jeremy's Team saw their three-game win streak come to an end.
    • After scoring 10.00 points against a projected 5.98, the Arizona Cardinals Defense has now exceeded their projection in five straight weeks.
    • Just because Robert Horry has seven NBA championship rings, doesn't mean he's one of the greats. Despite being on the winning team, Andre Ellington scored 6.30 points against a projected 11.82 and has now underachieved in three straight games.
    • The drafted players on John's Team put up 100.0% of the team's points this week.
    • John's Team overachieved in the win, improving to 7-2 when beating their projected points this season, while Jeremy's Team falls to 3-2 when scoring below their projected points.
    • Even in the loss, the 18.20 points scored by Jamaal Charles was the sixth-highest score of any RB in the league this week.

    Fantasy MasterpiecesWeek 12

Fred Taylor JAC - RB 2000 vs. Pittsburgh 33 touches, 248 total yards, 4 TDs Fred Taylor earned the nickname "Fragile" because of the frequency of which he would land on the NFL injury report.

But when he was healthy, he was a sight to behold. And the pinnacle of his career was in Week 12 of '12, when he rolled up the Pittsburgh defense for 248 yards and four touchdowns. For fantasy owners, it was an amazing time to own the Jacksonville back. After sitting out the first three games of that season (we mentioned that he was fragile, right?), he returned to post modest numbers in his his three games back in the lineup. But his 10 game run to close out the '00 campaign is the stuff of legend. From Weeks 7-16, Taylor went straight games with at least 100 rushing yards. And over the final seven games of the season, he amassed a whopping 13 TDs, including a hat trick+1 in Week 12 and another hat trick (and 181 rushing yards) two weeks later.
Each week of the season we will bring you the top fantasy football performances of the past 10+ years for that week.
