Owners may cringe at the idea of a reduced workload, but it's not like Foster would suddenly be a part of a committee. The Texans have to scale back his work to keep him healthy. It's a reminder that he's still rounding into form just like last season, although it's worth noting that a knee reconstruction is far different than the elbow issue he battled in 2013. Advice: He's now on pace for 440 carries this season after toting the rock 27 times in Week 1 and adding 28 rushing attempts in Sunday's 30-14 drubbing of Oakland. Foster's fantasy owners should actually be hoping coach Bill O'Brien scales back Foster's workload in an effort to keep the centerpiece of his offense healthy. • Gruden calls Reed's hamstring strain 'minor'
Coach Jay Gruden says Jordan Reed's hamstring strain is "minor."

Advice: Gruden left the door slightly open for Reed to play Sunday against the Jaguars, but ultimately said there's "little chance" he suits up. It sounds like Reed is more day-to-day than week-to-week. Consider him questionable for Week 3. Logan Paulsen and athletic Niles Paul will handle the tight end duties this week. Rotoworld.com

  • Ben Tate (knee) 'definitely out' for Week 2
Coach Mike Pettine confirmed Ben Tate (knee) is "definitely out" for Week 2 against the Saints.

Advice: Tate is dealing with a sprained knee and is considered week-to-week. Pettine says rookies Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell will carry the load against the Saints. New Orleans fielded a top-four overall defense in 2013, but finished 19th against the run. The Saints allowed 123 yards on the ground to the Falcons in Week 1. West is an intriguing RB2 option behind an underrated offensive line. Rotoworld.com

  • RGIII confirms Reed (hammy) will miss Week 2
Robert Griffin III told the media Wednesday that Jordan Reed (hamstring) will not play Week 2 against the Jaguars.

Advice: As expected. "He's a big loss, a great player," RGIII said. Reed's status beyond Week 2 remains up in the air. Coach Jay Gruden said Monday that Reed would be sidelined "some time." Logan Paulsen will be called on to block in Week 2, while Niles Paul is expected to play a bigger role in the passing game. The Jaguars were shredded by tight ends in 2013 and gave up a 6-91-1 line to Eagles tight ends last Sunday. It's a tough game for Reed owners to miss out on. Rotoworld.com

  • Report: Ben Tate (knee) to miss 2-4 weeks
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Ben Tate will "likely" miss 2-4 weeks with a sprained knee.

Advice: Per RapSheet, the tentative timeline for Tate is "depending on how he heals." Fantasy drafters of Tate knew the risk going in, based on his extensive injury history with the Texans. They should still keep Tate plastered to fantasy benches as an injured RB4. Rapoport says to expect to see Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell carrying the Browns' backfield in Tate's absence. While West had 100 yards on 16 carries in Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh, Crowell ripped off 32 yards and two touchdowns on five runs. That usage suggests West is the better waiver target, although Crowell should definitely also be owned. Rotoworld.com

  • Ben Tate says knee injury is not that serious
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Ben Tate said his knee injury is "nothing that serious."

Advice: We don't typically like to post injury updates directly from players as they're usually overly optimistic. But the Browns have been extremely tight-lipped on the status of both Tate and Jordan Cameron (shoulder), so we'll take what we can get. "I will be ok thanks for asking," was the rest of Tate's response. We still don't know if he'll be ready for Sunday's Week 2 game against the Saints, making waiver claims a dicey scenario. Terrance West is Tate's direct backup and Isaiah Crowell is the No. 3. Rotoworld.com

  • Jordan Reed staring at short absence?
A source tells ESPN's John Keim that Jordan Reed's (hamstring) absence may not be long.

Advice: Keim admitted he's "still uncertain" about how much time Reed might miss. Speaking Monday, coach Jay Gruden said Reed would be sidelined "some time," suggesting a week-to-week timetable. Owners shouldn't be counting on Reed for Week 2. His status will be updated when the Redskins return to practice on Wednesday. Rotoworld.com

Robert Woods played on 52-of-57 snaps in Sunday's win over the Bears.

Advice: Watkins clearly ran ahead of No. 3 WR Mike Williams (30 snaps), out-targeting him 6-3. The quick-footed second-year receiver doesn't have a ton of upside as the No. 2 target for E.J. Manuel in a run-heavy scheme, but he's on the WR4/5 radar now. Rotoworld.com

Browns coach Mike Pettine provided no update on Ben Tate's knee injury at his Monday press conference.

Advice: Pettine also had no update on Jordan Cameron (shoulder). We may have to wait for Wednesday's injury report to get further word on either player. Both left Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh and did not return. Speaking very generally, players who leave a game for good don't typically play the following week. Rotoworld.com

  • Jordan Reed could be sidelined 'some time'
Speaking Monday, Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Jordan Reed (hamstring) could be sidelined "some time."

Advice: In the same breath, Gruden characterized the injury as "mild," but it sounds like Reed is dealing with a week-to-week injury. That means fantasy owners shouldn't expect him to be active for Week 2, and that Logan Paulsen will get the start for Washington. Reed is worth holding onto in 12-14 team leagues, but his injury history is becoming increasingly ominous. His status will be updated no later than the Redskins' Wednesday return to practice. • Gronkowski plays 44 percent of Week 1 snaps
Rob Gronkowski played 38-of-86 (44 percent) of the offensive snaps in the Patriots' Week 1 loss to the Dolphins.

Advice: Gronkowski still managed to lead the team with 11 targets in the passing game, securing four of them for 40 yards and a score. He didn't play much on early downs, instead coming onto the field for all third downs and red-zone situations. Gronk also didn't look to be 100 percent, which is to be expected. Even if he remains "limited" in games, Gronkowski is a must-start TD scorer. Rotoworld.com

Dez Bryant caught 4-of-6 targets for 55 yards in Dallas' Week 1 loss to the 49ers.

Advice: One of Bryant's missed targets was a pick Tony Romo tossed into double coverage. Bryant could have maybe gotten more looks, but made a habit of checking out of the game in the second half as he battled dehydration. From Romo's play to Bryant's conditioning, it was an extremely disappointing opener, but Bryant is locked in as a top-five wideout. Rotoworld.com

Greg Olsen secured 8-of-11 targets for 83 yards and a touchdown in the Panthers' Week 1 win over Tampa Bay.

Advice: Fill-in QB Derek Anderson showed a willingness to force passes in Olsen's direction, peppering him down the seam and out wide. Olsen nearly came up with a second touchdown catch in the fourth quarter, but it slipped away from him as he dove. Still, Olsen was terrific, playing with obvious athleticism and physicality. Mike Tolbert managed 11 yards on seven carries and caught 2-of-4 targets for six yards in the Panthers' Week 1 win over the Bucs.

Advice: A plodding ball carrier with some power and receiving skills, Tolbert was used to kill the clock against Tampa Bay. He's more of a drain on DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart's fantasy value than a standalone option. Tolbert remained involved in red-zone packages and will score touchdowns in some weeks, but they'll be impossible to predict. Tolbert is not really even an RB4. Rotoworld.com

Tavon Austin caught all three of his targets for 34 yards in the Rams' Week 1 loss to the Vikings.

Advice: He added five yards rushing on three carries, as the Rams lined Austin up in the backfield a couple times. The Rams simply aren't getting enough out of Austin. He doesn't create space or make defenders miss on a regular enough basis, and OC Brian Schottenheimer isn't creative enough to make anything work. Austin's main impact will come on punt returns as a sophomore. He's not start-able outside of deep leagues or return-yardage formats. Rotoworld.com

Julian Edelman caught 6-of-8 targets for 95 yards in the Patriots' Week 1 loss to the Dolphins.

Advice: All six of Edelman's grabs came before halftime. He was actually third on the Pats in targets, checking in behind Rob Gronkowski and Kenbrell Thompkins, but is clearly a player who's going to see the ball early and often again this season. A WR2 in PPR leagues, Edelman is best deployed as a WR3 in standard formats, Especially with Gronk back, his touchdown upside is vanishingly small. Rotoworld.com

Woods also had Buffalo's biggest play in the pass game with a 32-yard catch in the first quarter. Now that he's playing ahead of Williams, Woods is worth a look on the waivers as a WR4/5. Dexter McCluster rushed nine times for 29 yards and caught a 17-yard pass in the Titans' Week 1 win over Kansas City.

Advice: The Titans used a frustrating four-back rotation, as Shonn Greene led the way with 15 touches, Bishop Sankey saw six (all in the second half), McCluster handled 10, and Leon Washington vultured four. • Rob Gronkowski scores touchdown in return
Making his first appearance since tearing his ACL last December, Rob Gronkowski caught 4-of-11 targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' Week 1 loss to the Dolphins.

Advice: Gronk's six-yard touchdown in the second quarter was the Pats' only passing score of the afternoon. He was indeed on a snap count, but checked in for nearly all third downs and red-zone situations, as evidenced by his 11 targets. That's the good news. The bad news is, Gronk appeared much stiffer than we're used to seeing, lumbering more than loping down the field. It's to be expected for a player returning from a severe knee injury, but it's going to take Gronk much longer to get all the way back to 100 percent. Despite all that, he's a clear top-three tight end, and the Pats' No. 1 red-zone threat. Rotoworld.com

Arian Foster rushed 27 times for 103 yards and caught two passes for 17 yards in Sunday's 14-6 Week 1 win over the Redskins.

Advice: Just as the Texans had promised all season, Foster was an unquestioned workhorse (Jonathan Grimes and Alfred Blue combined for two touches). He didn't find many big lanes to get through and lost a fumble in the red zone, but ran with power while looking truly 100 percent. Sustaining health will be a question here, but the schedule is appetizing. Foster will be a RB1 against the Raiders next week, and also gets to face Dallas in Week 5. Rotoworld.com

Ben Tate (knee) has been declared out for the remainder of Cleveland's Week 1 game against the Steelers.

Advice: Tate went from questionable to doubtful to out. It's particularly disconcerting since Tate's injury was not obvious on the field. Durability has always been Tate's main question mark. Rookies Terrance West and Isaiah Crowell are splitting carries in Tate's absence. Crowell scored a three-yard touchdown in the third quarter, Cleveland's first of the season. Ben Tate was forced from Cleveland's Week 1 game against the Steelers with a knee injury, and is questionable to return.

Advice: Tate was hurt on a 25-yard run in the second quarter. There didn't appear to be an obvious issue as he came off the field. His injury went unnoticed by reporters until it was announced in the press box. Rookie Terrance West, who had been getting sprinkled in, is now the Browns' No. 1 back. With Cleveland getting rocked heading into the break, it's possible Tate won't return even if his injury is minor.
