  • Gio Bernard unlikely to play Week 9 vs. Jags
The Cincinnati Enquirer's Paul Dehner doesn't expect Giovani Bernard (hip) to play Week 9 against the Jaguars.

Advice: Dehner thinks it would take a Mr. Miyagi-like miraculous healing for Bernard to play against Jacksonville. Bernard has been getting beat up the past few weeks, first injuring his collarbone, then suffering a hip pointer last week. Jeremy Hill is expected to "take over the load of the duties" on Sunday. A candidate for 20-plus touches as the feature back, Hill will be a borderline RB1. Rotoworld.com

  • Crowell hopes to be more involved Week 9
Isaiah Crowell said he hopes to play more this week against the Bucs.

Advice: Crowell leads the Browns with four rushing touchdowns and is averaging a team-high 4.9 YPC. This while Ben Tate has managed just 62 yards on 31 carries (2.0 YPC) the past two weeks against the Jaguars and Raiders. While Crowell hopes to play more, OC Kyle Shanahan didn't sound committed to getting him more looks, "We only play one back at a time." They trust veteran Tate more. Rotoworld.com

Rashad Jennings (knee) said the "goal" is to be cleared to play Week 10 against the Seahawks.

Advice: Jennings has already been ruled out for Monday night's Week 9 tilt with the Colts. He just began running and jogging earlier this week, but hopes to reach the point of planting and cutting on his sprained MCL at some point next week. We'd consider Jennings highly questionable for Week 10 at this point. Week 11 against the 49ers seems more realistic. Andre Williams will start Monday. Rotoworld.com

Panthers TE Brandon Williams caught a six-yard pass in Carolina's Week 9 loss to the Saints.

Advice: The grab was originally a 12-yard touchdown, but Williams ended up getting ruled down by contact midway through his run. Williams is a high-upside reserve, but has just four total catches this season. His fantasy time doesn't appear to be coming any time soon. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Cotchery could have had a third grab, but let a deep reception get knocked out of his hands as he took a huge shot to the back on an under-thrown ball. A world-class touchdown vulture for the Steelers in 2013, Cotchery has yet to score this season. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Not the night FLEX night streamers had in mind, though it wasn't a total disaster for PPR purposes. The question now for Cadet's middling RB3 value is if Pierre Thomas (shoulder) will be back for Week 10. Cadet is far from a must hold if you're in a roster bind. Rotoworld.com

Kenny Stills caught 5-of-8 targets for 72 yards in New Orleans' Week 9 win over the Panthers.

Advice: Stills could have had an even-bigger night, but committed a couple of drops. He also tweaked his groin, but played through a "probable" return tag. Stills is coming off one of the better stretches of his NFL career, with 14 grabs for 232 yards and a touchdown over his past three games. He's on pace for 51/799/2 at the season's halfway point after missing Week 1. He's a high-risk, high-reward WR4. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Another quiet night for Drew Brees' security blanket, who is on pace for a modest 56/888/2 at the season's halfway point. Colston closed strong in 2013, but that may not be in the cards this season with Brandin Cooks fighting for targets over the middle of the field. Colston is a Reggie Wayne-esque WR3. Rotoworld.com

Brandin Cooks caught 3-of-3 targets for 38 yards in the Saints' Week 9 win over the Panthers.

Advice: It was a disappointing night coming off Cooks' 6/94/1 Week 8, especially since he seemed to be finding the soft spots in Carolina's secondary. Either way, Drew Brees was spreading the ball around, finding eight different receivers. Cooks has weekly blow-up potential, but his season-long upside seems capped by the Saints' spread-the-wealth passing attack. With half his rookie year now in the books, Cooks is on pace for 86/820/4 four as a receiver, and 136 additional yards as a rusher. He's a boom-or-bust WR3. Rotoworld.com

Greg Olsen caught 3-of-4 targets for 30 yards in Carolina's Week 9 loss to the Saints.

Olsen has just four catches for 46 yards over his past two games, but is still on pace for 90/1,078/10 at the season's halfway point. A 10-day rest for Week 10 should do Olsen and the Panthers' offense some good. He remains locked in as a top-five tight end. Rotoworld.com

Rotating with DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart rushed eight times for 46 yards in Carolina's Week 9 loss to the Saints.

Advice: D-Will got the "start," but out-touched Stewart just 9-8. Stewart out-rushed Williams 46-20, but D-Will finished with 50 total yards thanks to a 30-yard reception. As feared, the duo formed a value-draining committee, with neither back being allowed to get into a rhythm. It's a shame with Stewart coming off one of his better games in recent memory in Week 8. Jimmy Graham caught 7-of-7 targets for 83 yards and a touchdown in New Orleans' Week 9 win over the Panthers.

Advice: Both the catches and yards were Graham's most since Week 4. The nice night came despite the fact that Graham appeared to tweak his troublesome shoulder multiple times, though he never checked out of the game. Graham beat blanket coverage from CB Melvin White on his one-yard score, and also dealt with supremely-physical attention from LB Thomas Davis. With half the season now in the books, Graham is on pace for 92/1,036/10 despite playing at less than 100 percent for the better part of a month. The yardage rate should pick up. Rotoworld.com

  • Giovani Bernard has hip pointer/clavicle
The Cincinnati Enquirer's Richard Skinner wrote on Twitter Wednesday that Giovani Bernard has a "hip pointer" and his clavicle is "bothering him," and Bernard "could miss Sunday('s)" game against the Jaguars.

Advice: The clavicle is the collarbone. We've known about that injury for a few weeks. The hip pointer is what kept Bernard out for the final 7-8 minutes of last week's win over Baltimore. The Bengals play the Browns on Thursday Night Football in Week 10, so it's conceivable that they will consider holding him out of Sunday's game in an effort to get him back for a key divisional matchup with 4-3 Cleveland. Keep in mind Skinner was simply replying to a question on Twitter, not reporting. There's just been so little information available on Bernard to this point. Advice: Romo was in so much pain Monday night that he is likely very sore early this week, and could miss all three Cowboys practices. Per Fitzsimmons, Romo's "season is not in jeopardy," but missing Week 9 is a real possibility. The Cowboys are 6-2 and can't afford to a setback that would cost their quarterback significant time. Tony Romo completed 17-of-28 passes for 209 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions in the Cowboys' Week 8 overtime loss to the Redskins.

Advice: The statistical result doesn't matter here. Romo's back is the chief concern. Redskins DC Jim Haslett was blitzing Romo as much as he could, and ILB Keenan Robinson hit home unblocked on a third-quarter sack with his knee drilling Romo in the back on the play. Romo missed two possessions before returning late in the fourth quarter. He didn't look like himself, getting sacked and fumbling on his first dropback before throwing a should-be interception on his first pass back. We certainly wouldn't rule him out of Week 9 yet, especially considering this is a light workout as the Giants come off their bye and they don't play until Monday night (against the Colts). If Jennings isn't back in practice by Thursday, then we'll have more reason for worry. The Giants will be desperate to get him back in the lineup after rookie Andre Williams flubbed his two starts. • No real explanation on Crowell's one carry
ESPN Cleveland suggests Isaiah Crowell must have been outplayed by Terrance West in practice ahead of Week 8.

Advice: In Sunday's win over the Raiders, Crowell got just one carry on three snaps while West toted it seven times on 24 snaps. The Browns coaches simply can't decide on who their No. 2 back is, making it almost impossible to predict on a week-to-week basis. Just three games ago, West was a surprise healthy scratch. • Jimmy Graham up to 43-of-69 snaps
Jimmy Graham played on 43-of-69 snaps (62.3 percent) in Sunday night's win over the Packers.

Advice: It's a major uptick from Week 7, when Graham played on just 40 percent of the snaps and had zero catches. This week, Graham was a major part of the gameplan as he posted a 5-59-1 line on six targets. Most importantly, he appeared to emerge without setbacks once again. Graham should be ready to rock despite a short week when the Saints play at Carolina Thursday night. Rotoworld.com

  • Travaris Cadet totals 47 yards
Travaris Cadet caught four passes for 40 yards in Sunday night's Week 8 win over the Packers.

Advice: He added one carry for seven yards. Cadet got most of his yardage on a 16-yard screen in the second quarter. The Saints used Mark Ingram in a near every-down role, leaving Cadet to situational work on pass downs. With Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas sidelined, Cadet is just an RB5 stash in fantasy leagues. Kenny Stills caught four passes for 57 yards in Sunday night's Week 8 win over the Packers.

Marques Colston managed four catches for 49 yards in Sunday night's Week 8 win over the Packers.

Advice: Colston did little outside of a 20-yard catch in the second quarter. He finished with five targets, behind Brandin Cooks and Jimmy Graham. Colston has struggled with consistency this season, and is starting to be phased out of the offense. He has a 25/407/1 line through seven games. Rotoworld.com

  • Jimmy Graham manages touchdown in win
Jimmy Graham had five catches for 59 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 8 win over the Packers.

Advice: Graham still isn't over his shoulder injury, but managed to have a productive game. He was noticeably limited by it after dropping a pass at the goal-line early in the game, and didn't make his first catch until the third quarter. Graham's touchdown came on a 22-yard jump ball over Packers CB Tramon Williams. Despite playing at less than full health, Graham needs to remain in lineups for Thursday night's game against the Panthers. Rotoworld.com

  • Brandin Cooks has big game on Sunday night
Brandin Cooks had six catches for 94 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 8 win over the Packers, adding one carry for four yards and a rushing touchdown.

Advice: Cooks scored on a designed run during the Saints' first drive, and later got past Packers FS Micah Hyde for a 50-yard touchdown. It was his best game of the season, and just the first time he's found the end-zone since Week 1. Cooks has breakout potential with matchups against the Panthers, 49ers, and Bengals in his next three games. Rotoworld.com

  • Giovani Bernard seems fine after hip scare
Giovani Bernard held court with reporters following Sunday's win over Baltimore, after missing most of the fourth quarter with a hip injury.

Advice: Bernard didn't play in the final eight minutes. Neither Bernard nor coach Marvin Lewis was even asked about the injury, suggesting there were no indications Gio was significantly injured. It's worth noting that Bernard missed time in Week 6 with a shoulder/collarbone injury, was limited in practice after Week 7 with a rib injury, and now suffered the hip injury against the Ravens. Gio is currently on pace for 250 carries but only 51 receptions, five fewer than Bernard notched in a lesser role as a rookie. The Bengals would be smart to scale back his rushing workload and use Gio more in the passing game. Rotoworld.com

  • Isaiah Crowell gets 2 touches against OAK
Isaiah Crowell rushed once for one yard and caught one pass for eight yards in the Browns' Week 8 win over the Raiders.

Advice: The undrafted rookie was the No. 3 back through Cleveland's rotation, playing behind Ben Tate and Terrance West. Although Crowell is arguably the most talented back in the bunch, his usage has not warranted fantasy start-ability, and the Browns' running game isn't nearly as efficient as it was early in the season. Crowell is teetering between RB3 and RB4 "stash" value in fantasy leagues. He won't be a flex option in Week 9 against Tampa Bay. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Graham is expected to see a bigger role after being largely a decoy last week. He needs to be in fantasy lineups in what projects to be a high-scoring game. Jordan Cameron is done for the day in Week 8 with a concussion.

Advice: It's particularly concerning for Cameron's going-forward outlook because he has a history of concussions. He finished Sunday's game with three catches for 40 yards, and Cameron's availability for Week 9 against the Buccaneers is also very much in doubt. The Browns can't get back Josh Gordon soon enough. Vincent Jackson secured 1-of-5 targets for 13 yards in the Buccaneers' Week 8 loss to Minnesota.

Advice: It was a quiet day for V-Jax in a game where Mike Glennon passed for just 171 yards. Mike Evans led Tampa in receiving (78 yards), and next closest was Bobby Rainey (41). Amid trade rumors, we'd love to see Jackson get out of Tampa Bay ahead of Tuesday's deadline to deal. Jordan Cameron left Sunday's game with a second-quarter head injury.

Advice: Cameron was disoriented on the field after taking a big hit from a Raiders defender following a fantastic catch over the middle. • Greg Olsen has worst game of season
Greg Olsen caught one pass for 16 yards in Sunday's Week 8 loss to the Seahawks.

Advice: It's a disappointing result considering the Seahawks have been getting lit up by tight ends this season. Olsen only saw three targets, netting his lone catch when Cam Newton found him wide open with a cross-body throw. Owners should brush the dud off and look forward to a very soft rest-of-season schedule that includes games against the Saints, Eagles and Falcons next. Advice: Even with Richard Sherman shadowing Kelvin Benjamin, Cotchery couldn't get loose. The 32-year-old possession receiver is now on pace for 52 catches, 632 yards and zero touchdowns halfway through his first year in Carolina. • Jonathan Stewart flashes old form in loss
Jonathan Stewart rushed 16 times for 79 yards and caught three passes for 15 yards in Sunday's Week 8 loss to the Seahawks.

Advice: At one point not too long ago, Stewart was one of the league's rising studs at running back. He flashed some of that form today, creating extra yards against Seattle's elite run defense with both power and burst. The problem is that DeAngelo Williams (ankle) could return for Thursday night's game against the Saints and Cam Newton will steal a lot of goal-line chances. Stewart is a RB3-type unless he can get this backfield to himself Thursday. Rotoworld.com

  • Saints expect Jimmy Graham to play a lot more
FOX's Jay Glazer says the Saints expect Jimmy Graham (shoulder) to "play a lot more" in Sunday night's game against the Packers.

Advice: Graham was largely a decoy last week, coming off the bench in passing situations for 30-of-75 snaps but catching no passes on two targets. But this week, Glazer says there's a "good chance" Graham "could even start" after taking a "pretty good workload this week." • Report: PHI, NE, SEA calling Bucs about V-Jax
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Eagles, Patriots, and Seahawks are three teams that have called the Bucs about trading for Vincent Jackson.

Advice: They're just three of "more than four teams" interested in the 31-year-old. With the Eagles, Jackson would replace an exposed Riley Cooper opposite Jeremy Maclin. The Patriots are always seemingly looking for a No. 1 outside receiver, while Jackson can be the top dog in Seattle, pushing Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse down to Nos. 2 and 3 where they belong. Jackson will be one of the hotter names come Tuesday's deadline. Landing in Philly would be a boon to V-Jax's stock. Rotoworld.com

  • Browns will not force the ball to Cameron
Browns coach Mike Pettine said the team will not force the ball to Jordan Cameron.

Advice: "If he’s open in the read and the ball gets thrown to him, he needs to catch it," Pettine said, "but we’re not going to force a ball to somebody." Cameron has seen 5.2 targets a game this year after seeing the ball come his way 7.9 times a contest last season. He has also been far less efficient, catching just 38% of his targets on the season. Cameron has the talent to turn it around, but he will need more consistent targets and more consistent quarterback play to regain top-five tight end status. Rotoworld.com
