    • Bears may have to give up pick to move Cutler
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports several unnamed NFL executives believe the Bears may have to give up a draft pick in order to trade Jay Cutler.

Advice: Still owed a guaranteed $25.5 million on the seven-year deal signed last offseason, Cutler's contract appears to be trade prohibitive. Schefter's sources believe the Bears could offset the big guarantees by offering Cutler AND a draft pick to prospective trade partners. NFL rules dictate the Bears would have to receive some compensation in return, but Chicago could get around the rule by accepted a late-round pick in exchange for Cutler and a better pick. It would be a high price to pay to offload a talented quarterback, but with coach Marc Trestman likely finished after the season, Chicago may simply press the reset button. Rotoworld.com

Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he is "very confident" Cam Newton (back, probable) will start Week 16 against the Browns.

Advice: In coach speak that is a veritable guarantee. Newton practiced all week and is a lock to start against Cleveland. Newton played his best game of the season Week 14 before injuring his back, and has QB1 upside even in a tough matchup. Rotoworld.com

Pro Football Talk reports Julio Jones' (hip, questionable) availability for Week 16 against the Saints hinges on a pre-game workout.

Advice: Jones went through the same routine last week before ultimately being ruled out, but the mood surrounding Jones this week is far more optimistic. Despite not practicing at all this week, ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure said Jones "definitely will play." • LeSean McCoy is getting fewer red-zone snaps
LeSean McCoy's role in the Eagles' red-zone offense has declined in the last eight games.

Advice: McCoy opened the season as the primary back in the red zone. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane, he was on the field for 77 percent of the red-zone plays through the first six games of the season and saw 74 percent of the running back touches. Those numbers have decreased to 65 percent and 64 percent respectively, and should continue to fall as Chris Polk continues to convert goal-line chances. With Polk vulturing touchdowns and Darren Sproles vulturing pass-game work, McCoy is more of an RB2 Week 16 against a stingy Washington rush defense. Rotoworld.com

    • Lions admit Joique Bell is No. 1 running back
Lions OC Joe Lombardi conceded Joique Bell is the team's No. 1 running back, ahead of Reggie Bush.

Advice: It would be difficult to claim anything else. Bell has 33 carries to Bush's 11 over the last two weeks and has out-touched Bush 42-16 over that span. Bell has at least 10 carries in 12-of-13 games this season. Bush has managed that feat just twice. Bell is the clear lead back and is a good bet for 20 touches against a leaky Bears' defense. He is a solid RB2 in championship week. Rotoworld.com

    • Report: Julio Jones expected to play Sunday
ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure expects Julio Jones (hip) to play in Sunday's game at New Orleans.

Advice: Jones remains a game-time call after not practicing at all the last two weeks. But the Falcons are in a must-win spot and obviously need their most talented offensive weapon. Here's the full report from McClure: "From all the information I've gathered, Jones definitely will play against the Saints. And it's not as if the Falcons will have him on the field just as a decoy. They need Jones in this desperation game, so I suspect he will get plenty of opportunities." We'll have more information by Sunday morning at the absolute latest. Rotoworld.com

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Texans are leaning toward starting Case Keenum at quarterback for Week 16 against the Ravens.

Advice: As expected. Keenum simply knows the offense better as a whole than Thad Lewis. Keenum spent the summer with the Texans, while Lewis was signed just a few weeks ago. Speaking Thursday, Jay Cutler said he hopes to remain with the Bears beyond 2014, but admitted that it's "definitely" crossed his mind that he may have played his final game in Chicago.

Advice: Admitting he was disappointed by the first benching of his football-playing career, Cutler was realistic about his future in the Windy City. Cutler's seven-year, $126.7 million deal will get labeled as impossible to trade, but that's not necessarily true in a league so starved for quarterback talent. It will only take one team to believe it has what it takes to jump-start Cutler's career. Releasing Cutler isn't a realistic option for the Bears, as they'd absorb $19 million in dead money. • Trestman: Clausen is one-week experiment
Speaking Thursday, Bears coach Marc Trestman left the door open for benched QB Jay Cutler to start in Week 17.

Advice: "This is for this week," Trestman said. "We're not going any farther than our preparation for Detroit." Trestman is clearly trying to keep Cutler's spirits up, but barring a total face-plant from Jimmy Clausen, we'd expect Cutler to remain on the pine for Week 17. Trestman went on to say he believed Cutler could be "revived" from the benching, hinting he's expected to remain the team's quarterback in 2015. That's probably an honest belief, but it's unlikely to be Trestman's decision to make. Clausen doesn't give the Bears a better chance to win than Cutler, but leading the league in turnovers and regressing on a weekly basis, Cutler has little room to complain about being benched. • LeSean McCoy concedes goal-line work to Polk
LeSean McCoy admitted that Chris Polk is taking over as the Eagles' primary goal-line back.

Advice: Polk played three snaps in Week 15, turning two of them into short touchdowns. A third goal-line carry went to Darren Sproles. "Polk's obviously a little bit more powerful back, so they've been giving him some of the runs in short-yardage in a couple games, especially last game. ... "There's just some plays on 3rd-and-1 type of situations where I probably wouldn't have gotten it, where I see him kind of hit a guy, drag a guy and get in there," McCoy candidly conceded. It's not out of the question that Shady gets some goal-line chances in the flow of the Eagles' hurry-up scheme, but Polk is a drain on touchdown projections. Advice: Bill O'Brien isn't tipping his hand between Keenum and Thad Lewis. But Keenum makes more sense as he was with the team throughout the offseason program and training camp before losing his backup job to Tom Savage and Ryan Mallett. However, Keenum was brutal in four preseason games going 28-of-52 (53.8%) for 254 yards (4.88 YPA) with zero touchdowns and two interceptions, good for a 51.3 passer rating. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Bears will start Jimmy Clausen over Jay Cutler in Week 16 against the Lions.

Advice: The Bears are benching Cutler just 14 starts into his seven-year, $127 million extension. Per NFL Network's Mike Silver, coach Marc Trestman felt he could no longer start Cutler "simply to justify a contract" when his on-field play was so poor. Cutler regressed in his second season in Trestman's offense, leading the NFL in turnovers (24). Owed a fully guaranteed $15.5 million next year, the Bears' only option is to trade Cutler this offseason if they want to move on from him. Advice: The matchup couldn't have been much better for Cutler, but he predictably went all DGAF on us and took seven sacks, missed open receivers, and turned the ball over another three times. Both of his touchdowns came late in the fourth quarter. He hooked up with Marquess Wilson for a one-yard score to bring the score to 24-8, and then found Alshon Jeffery for the garbagiest of garbage-time touchdowns from seven yards out with 30 ticks left on the clock. Cutler leads the NFL in turnovers and gets to face the Lions' tough defense in Week 16. He managed 280 yards and a 2:2 TD:INT ratio against Detroit on Thanksgiving, but this Bears team has lied down since then. Rotoworld.com

    • Panthers noncommittal on Cam for Week 16
Panthers coach Ron Rivera was noncommittal Monday when addressing Cam Newton's (back) Week 16 availability.

Advice: Rivera gave away "nothing definitive," but did state Cam will start against the Browns "only if he’s certain Newton can protect himself." Added OC Mike Shula, "I know he’s feeling a lot better than he was Friday and Saturday," Shula said. "He’s moving around, just kind of walking around the building a lot better. So that’s good." • Falcons think Julio will be ready for Week 16
Speaking Monday, Falcons coach Mike Smith said he expected Julio Jones (hip) to return for Week 16.

Advice: Per Smith, Jones has "improved last week to this week." It's great news, but should be taken with a major grain of salt. Smith is consistently wrong with his public-injury proclamations. Jones didn't appear particularly close to suiting up against the Steelers, but he was always going to be up against it on a short week. For now, owners can pencil Jones in for the fantasy finals, but his availability should be considered far from a given. Jones' status will be updated no later than Wednesday. Rotoworld.com

Ryan Lindley will be the Cardinals' Week 16 starter at quarterback.

Advice: Lindley's four games of starting experience earn him the nod over fourth-round rookie Logan Thomas. However, coach Bruce Arians continues to insist he'll install a "package" of plays for Thomas against the Seahawks. It makes essentially no difference who gets the call against Seattle. Arians' job will be to put as little as possible on Lindley's plate. Depending on how the game unfolds, Lindley could easily be benched for Thomas. Things are highly likely to get ugly for the 11-3 Cardinals. Rotoworld.com

Texans signed QB Case Keenum off the Rams' practice squad.

Advice: It made too much sense. The Texans lost Ryan Fitzpatrick to a broken leg and rookie Tom Savage to a potentially-serious knee injury in Week 15, leaving Thad Lewis as the only healthy QB on the roster. Keenum was part of Houston's final cuts in the summer and knows the offense. He may even be asked to start Week 16 against the Ravens if Lewis hasn't fully picked up the system. Rotoworld.com

LeSean McCoy rushed 16 times for 64 yards in Sunday night's Week 15 loss to Dallas.

Advice: McCoy got only 17 touches with the Eagles playing from behind most of the game. He had two touchdowns vultured by Chris Polk, and lost a third score to Darren Sproles at the one-yard line. McCoy has managed just 114 yards on 33 carries over the last two weeks. • Greg Jennings goes 3-43-1 vs. Lions
Greg Jennings secured 3-of-5 targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' Week 15 loss to the Lions.

Advice: Jennings' second-quarter TD catch from eight yards out gave the Vikings a 14-0 lead. He continued to run possession routes and operate as a chain mover for Teddy Bridgewater. Jennings is still a useful real-life NFL receiver, but his fantasy value is adversely affected by a rookie quarterback and his lack of big-play ability. Charles Johnson has clearly asserted himself as Minnesota's top wideout. Rotoworld.com

Joique Bell rushed 15 times for 62 yards and caught four balls for 41 yards in the Lions' Week 15 win over the Vikings.

Advice: Joique (pronounced "Joyk") was an all-purpose machine in this one, racking up big gains in the passing game and a number of chain-moving rushes, particularly in the fourth quarter. He has clearly asserted himself as the Lions' feature back with Reggie Bush continuing to struggle with health and Theo Riddick just a reserve/role player. Expect Bell to stay hot in a Week 16 date with the Bears' leaky defense. He shredded Chicago on Thanksgiving. Joique will be an RB2 in fantasy title week. Rotoworld.com

Advice: He was targeted three times, but dropped his other pass on 2nd-and-8 to kill the Jaguars' opening possession. Lewis is best used as a blocker and not as a pass catcher at this stage of his career. He's a TE3. Rotoworld.com

DeAndre Hopkins caught five passes for 77 yards in Sunday's Week 15 loss at Indy.

Advice: Hopkins saw a season-high 13 targets, a predictable number once Andre Johnson (concussion) was ruled out. No other Texan had more than four targets. The problem was that Hopkins saw Vontae Davis' side too often and Tom Savage was overwhelmed in a relief role. A Week 16 matchup against the Ravens is tasty on paper, but Johnson's likely return and Savage's woes make Hopkins a risky WR3 play despite Sunday's volume. Rotoworld.com

Advice: LaFell now has just two scores over his past five games, but has averaged 5.4/61 in the process. Still drawing 8-10 weekly targets, LaFell will be locked in as a WR2 against the Jets' undermanned secondary in Week 16. Rotoworld.com

Advice: News progressively got worse on Jones in the lead-up to the release of the Falcons' inactives. Jones was scheduled to warm up on the field before the game, but never made it out there. He remained on the training table, and it's been reported that Julio is dealing with a labrum issue in his hip. Harry Douglas will get the start opposite Roddy White. Jones, unable to practice all week after suffering what's thought to be a hip pointer during his Monday night demolition of the Packers, will be replaced in the starting lineup by Harry Douglas. Bears OC Aaron Kromer admitted to the team on Monday that he was an anonymous source in a recent NFL Network report criticizing Jay Cutler.

Advice: That would be Ian Rapoport's "serious buyer's remorse" report, though a "tearful" Kromer "adamantly denied" making the buyer's remorse comments. Whatever Kromer did or didn't exactly say, it's a stunning admission, and indicative of Raiders/Redskins-level dysfunction in Chicago. It's appearing less and less likely that coach Marc Trestman is going to keep his job. Not only has his defense collapsed, but his once-prolific offense has bordered on unwatchable many times over the past 5-6 weeks. • Ryan Lindley fills in for Drew Stanton
Filling in for an injured Drew Stanton (knee), Ryan Lindley completed 4-of-10 passes for 30 yards in the Cardinals' 12-6, Week 15 win over the Rams.

Advice: Stanton was injured early in the third quarter. Lindley has been on the roster for just 30 days, but got the call over fourth-round rookie Logan Thomas. It's possible coach Bruce Arians still views Thomas as his No. 2, but didn't want to throw him into the fire on the road against an elite defense. Lindley wasn't anything resembling functional, struggling to command the offense while making poor throws. Although he made four starts for the doomed 2012 Cardinals, he couldn't be considered a competent guiding hand were Stanton done for the season. Whatever happens, the Cardinals are in ridiculously bad shape at quarterback. It's a shame for an 11-3 team. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Acee believes Mathews' time left in San Diego should be "measured in weeks." The former 12th overall pick just can't stay healthy, as he's battled ankle, shoulder, and knee injuries this season.
