  • Terrelle Pryor will be 'limited' on Thursday
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) is expected to be "limited" in Thursday's preseason game.

Advice: Pryor could end up playing only a series or two. That would be his most action of the preseason, of course, but it's not going to offer anything meaningful to his roster odds. Pryor's 53-man chances live and die with what he did in pad-less offseason practices. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:54 am

  • Titans rookie WR Green-Beckham is 'a beast'
Titans CB Jason McCourty called rookie WR Dorial Green-Beckham "a beast."

Advice: "There’s certain things you can’t teach," McCourty continued, "and you can’t teach a guy to be that big, and to be physical." DGB is an imposing figure at 6'5/237 pounds, but he is a rough around the edges prospect who has yet to earn a spot with the first-team offense. With only Harry Douglas and Hakeem Nicks to beat out, Green-Beckham should earn a starting role at some point this season. He is a decent late-round flier. Rotoworld.com Today, 8:36 am

  • Rookie WR Crowder will not face discipline
Redskins rookie WR Jamison Crowder will not face league discipline for a June domestic violence accusation.

Advice: Crowder was accused of domestic violence through his Instagram account on June 4. He was never formally accused of any crime, and the NFL's investigation has apparently found nothing to suggest Crowder violated the personal conduct policy. • Corey Brown on the roster bubble?
The Charlotte Observer believes WR Corey Brown could be on the roster bubble.

Advice: Brown was expected to open the season in the starting lineup following the season-ending injury to Kelvin Benjamin (ACL), but he has struggled mightily with drops both in games and in practice over the last several weeks. Brown has at least five drops in the last two preseason games, including two would-be touchdowns. If he cannot show the drops are behind him in the final preseason game, he could find himself off the final roster. Rotoworld.com Today, 6:06 am

  • Terrelle Pryor expected to play Thursday
Browns WR Terrelle Pryor is expected to play in the team's fourth preseason game.

Advice: It will be Pryor's first NFL game action as a wide receiver. A good showing could earn him a spot on the final roster, though the Browns may decide to keep Pryor on the roster based on physical upside alone. With Josh Gordon suspended, Pryor has the most interesting athletic profile in the Browns' receiver corps. Rotoworld.com Today, 5:29 am

Advice: Perriman has been sidelined since the first practice of training camp with a sprained PCL. • Titans want red-zone role for Green-Beckham
The Titans want to use Dorial Green-Beckham as a red-zone threat.

Advice: "It’s something you try to simulate, but a lot of times you can’t guarantee the coverage you’re going to get," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "So all we can do is try to prepare him in practice. When you get to the season, it’s about matchups." Green-Beckham was held out of last week's dress rehearsal with an ankle injury. • Packers WR Janis 'hasn't won over' Rodgers
Packers second-year WR Jeff Janis is behind rookie Ty Montgomery because Janis "hasn't fully won over his quarterback yet."

Advice: Trust is critical between pass catchers and their quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers apparently doesn't yet trust Janis enough for him to have a significant role in Green Bay's offense. "Jeff will have some great days and some days where mentally he's making too many mistakes," Rodgers said. "The talent and athleticism is there. We just need to see from all those guys battling for those two spots just some more consistency." • Ty Montgomery favorite for 3rd receiver job
Third-round pick Ty Montgomery is still considered to have the "upper hand" for Green Bay's No. 3 receiver job.

Advice: Playing outside at Z receiver, Montgomery is coming off a third preseason game where he posted a 2-71 receiving line working in three-wide sets alongside Randall Cobb and Davante Adams. Montgomery is very clearly ahead of Jeff Janis, who "hasn't fully won over" Aaron Rodgers. Montgomery is a worthy late-round flyer in re-draft leagues, with an up arrow on his Dynasty value. Advice: Cruz admitted Tuesday that his availability is in question, and at this point we'd bet against him suiting up Week 1 at Dallas. Advice: Coach Todd Bowles called the 2014 sixth-round pick a "tweener" due to his 6'2/225 size and above-average blocking skills for a receiver. With Jace Amaro (shoulder) done for the season, Enunwa could have a real role on offense. OC Chan Gailey used four-receiver sets on a league-high 586 snaps from 2010-2012 in Buffalo. Advice: Pryor has missed the entire preseason slate after going down with a hamstring injury early in camp, and Pettine said last week the window was closing on him making the team. Advice: It is a very small sample size, but it is a concern considering Hunter has caught a Stephen-Hill like 43 percent of his targets through two seasons. • Brandon Coleman catches 27-yard pass
Brandon Coleman caught one pass for 27 yards in the Saints' third preseason game.

Advice: Coleman ran with the Saints' first-team offense in two-wide sets, playing ahead of Marques Colston, who entered for three-wide packages at slot receiver. Coleman's lowlight was a drop on a pass from Luke McCown. His highlight was a 27-yard second-quarter gain on a deep crosser. Coleman is a legitimate threat to Colston's playing time, but his snap share remains somewhat unclear, and Coleman's lack of preseason production is a slight concern. "As we go through it and I see how he handles the situation, it will tell me a lot about who he is as a football player." The Panthers do not have much choice but to stick with Brown. Kelvin Benjamin (ACL) is out for the season, Devin Funchess (hamstring) is injured and unproven, and the rest of the depth chart is either old, uninspiring or both. It confirms Montgomery is getting the first crack to replace Jordy Nelson over Jeff Janis. Although Janis is a favorite of the Twitter metrics crowd, the Packers believe he's too inconsistent for a bigger role on offense. Coach Ken Whisenhunt indicated rookie Dorial Green-Beckham remains a work in progress entering the Titans' third preseason game.

Advice: Green-Beckham has flashed big time on the field, ripping off a 32-yard gain in the Titans' preseason opener and catching four balls for 40 yards in the second exhibition week. Whisenhunt, however, noted that Green-Beckham cost the team a 37-yard gain with a miscue on Sunday night and says Green-Beckham is "still finding his way" and "has some catching up to do." Green-Beckham did run with the ones a bit on Sunday. He's climbing the ladder. Rotoworld.com Monday, 1:24 pm

  • Terrelle Pryor back on the roster bubble?
ESPN Cleveland believes Terrelle Pryor's (hamstring) roster odds could come down to the next 72 hours.

Advice: Reporter Tony Grossi believes Pryor "has" to practice this week and play in Saturday's regular season dress rehearsal to have a realistic shot at making the team. Coach Mike Pettine has basically said the same. Pryor was looking like a lock in early August, but at this point, his odds are probably worse than 50-50. Switching positions, he simply couldn't afford to miss as much camp time as he has. Rotoworld.com Aug 24, 11:16 am
