  • Chiefs make roster moves
Chiefs waived WR Seantavius Jones, DB Bryce Cheek, DL Niko Davis, OL Curtis Feigt, CB Malcolm Jackson, LB Jonathan Massaquoi, WR Kashif Moore, and C Drew Nowak.

Advice: A onetime offseason hype hero in New Orleans, we were actually surprised to learn Jones was on a team. Jones was not a surprise cut in Kansas City. Rotoworld.com 35 minutes ago

  • Dye (hamstring) could be ready for Week 1
Buccaneers WR Donteea Dye did not suffer a tear when he injured his hamstring in Friday's preseason game.

Advice: The injury is minor and Dye could be back for Week 1 against Atlanta. Dye saw a surprising number of snaps last season but still managed only 11 catches for 132 yards. He'll be lucky to crack a spot on the 53-man roster. Rotoworld.com 59 minutes ago

  • Fuller turns on the jets in dress rehearsal
Will Fuller caught 3-of-4 targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in Houston's third preseason game.

Advice: Assuming he sits out Thursday's preseason finale, Fuller finishes the summer with eight catches for 144 yards (18.0 YPC) and two touchdowns. His fourth target today was a bad drop on what would have been a long gainer, but it was an otherwise mighty impressive performance from the No. 21 overall pick. Fuller was running right by Cardinals DBs (Patrick Peterson was held out), though he did get away with a bit of a push-off on his touchdown. Fuller's hands are a concern, but his role (starting) and skills (now evident on NFL film) are not. He's a WR5 who could give you some big weeks during byes. Rotoworld.com Today, 3:12 pm

  • Eagles release Randle after nightmare summer
    Eagles released WR Rueben Randle.

Advice: It's surprising in that Randle is a veteran in a weak wideout corps, but entirely unsurprising in light of Randle's summer and career arc. Randle caught only five passes for a pathetic 26 yards in three preseason games, and drew universal bafflement at his effort level. Randle seemed to take making the 53-man roster for granted. Randle is only 25 years old, and started all 16 games for the Giants last season, but both his film and buzz are that of a player who will have a hard time sticking on someone's roster in 2016. • Michael Floyd plays briefly in exhibition gm
Michael Floyd caught his lone target for ten yards in the Cardinals' third preseason game.

Advice: With John Brown (concussion) and Larry Fitzgerald (knee) on the shelf, Arizona's three-receiver set was made up of Floyd, Jaron Brown, and J.J. Nelson against the Texans. Floyd's time on the field was brief, along with Carson Palmer's. Floyd should be pressing for a career year in his contract season. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:29 pm

  • Tyrell Williams goes 3-36 in 3rd preseason wk
Chargers WR Tyrell Williams caught 3-of-3 targets for 36 yards in Sunday's third preseason game.

Advice: Williams has been solid in the passing game this preseason, but most importantly he has run extensively with Philip Rivers' first-team offense. While Williams' role to open the year is unclear behind Keenan Allen and Antonio Gates, it is notable that he has logged run over Travis Benjamin at times in August. Williams belongs on Dynasty rosters and re-draft-league watch lists. Rotoworld.com Today, 2:21 pm

  • Treadwell scores on two-point conversion
LaQuon Treadwell caught his only target for 15 yards in Sunday’s regular season dress rehearsal.

Advice: It came on a quick hitter from third-string QB Joel Stave early in the fourth quarter. Treadwell also snagged a two-point conversion on a goal-line fade from Shaun Hill. He climbed the ladder to make an impressive catch over Chargers corner Trevor Williams. Treadwell logged nine snaps in the first half compared to 29 for Stefon Diggs, 25 for Charles Johnson and 17 for Adam Thielen. He’ll enter his rookie year with some depth chart ground to make up. • Johnson runs with the starters on Sunday
Charles Johnson secured 2-of-3 targets for 25 yards in Sunday’s regular season dress rehearsal.

Advice: Both grabs came on Minnesota’s final drive of the first half. Johnson didn’t do anything to leap off the page, but he out-snapped every Vikings receiver in the first half except for Stefon Diggs. It’s hard to trust Johnson after what he put fantasy owners through last season, but he is going to be a Week 1 starter. Rotoworld.com Today, 1:15 pm

  • Diggs has five-catch day in tune up
Stefon Diggs got 5-of-5 targets for 71 yards in Sunday's preseason game.

Advice: Diggs finishes the preseason with seven grabs for 82 yards. Moving all over the formation this summer, Diggs enters Week 1 as the Vikings' clear-cut No. 1 receiver. Diggs is a born playmaker, but still figures to be inconsistent in the Vikings' run-first offense. He's a WR3/4. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:44 pm

  • John Brown sitting out third preseason game
John Brown is sitting out Sunday's regular season dress rehearsal.

Advice: The Cardinals have zero reason to risk Brown's health after he spent much of the month battling concussion issues. It's a concern for the regular season, but Brown will be out there Week 1. He provides a ton of upside as a WR3. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:38 pm

  • Justin Hardy practices after ankle scare
Justin Hardy took part in Falcons practice on Sunday.

Advice: It's a good sign after Hardy exited the third preseason game with a tweaked ankle. Hardy is working as the Falcons' slot receiver in three-wide sets, though that isn't necessarily a big role on a team that uses two tight ends and/or a fullback frequently. Aldrick Robinson is the top backup outside. Rotoworld.com Today, 12:21 pm

  • 49ers take trade flier on Jeremy Kerley
49ers acquired WR Jeremy Kerley from the Lions in exchange for OG Brandon Thomas.

Advice: Kerley, whose career has been in gradual, consistent decline, will provide some depth in the slot and feature on special teams. He'll likely crack the 53-man roster considering how little talent GM Trent Baalke has assembled. Rotoworld.com Today, 11:19 am

Panthers waived/released WR Stephen Hill, LB Jared Barber, WR Avius Capers, TE Braxton Deave, G Reese Dismukes, DT Ray Drew, OT David Foucault, DE Tom Lally, C Matt Masifilo, WR Miles Shuler and OT Willie Smith.

Advice: That brings the roster to 79, meaning the Panthers will have to make four more cuts before Tuesday's 4 PM ET deadline. Hill failed to stand out this preseason, hauling in just two of four targets for 18 yards in three appearances. The former second-round pick will hope to latch on elsewhere, though teams could be hesitant to sign him given his off-field struggles and history of knee injuries. Rotoworld.com Today, 10:18 am

Cody Latimer (knee) will undergo an MRI on Sunday.

Advice: The third-year wideout got hurt on a block in Saturday's preseason game. Latimer downplayed the injury, though beat writer Troy Renck said he saw Latimer walking with a noticeable limp. Latimer's Week 1 status is now in flux. Rotoworld.com Today, 5:27 am

  • Brian Quick has three-catch night
Brian Quick caught 3-of-3 targets for 15 yards in Saturday's third preseason game.

Advice: Quick spent some time with the first-team offense. Quick has had a horrendous preseason, catching only six passes for 55 yards and getting called out by coach Jeff Fisher for drops, but doesn't appear to be on the roster bubble. He is behind rookie Pharoh Cooper. Quick hasn't been the same since his severe 2014 shoulder injury. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 9:00 pm

  • Cody Latimer leaves with knee injury
Broncos WR Cody Latimer left the third preseason game with a knee injury.

Advice: It's a disappointing development for a slow-starting receiver who was having a solid camp. Latimer doesn't play in the slot and isn't the Broncos' No. 3 wideout, but he had seemingly secured the top backup spot behind Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas. Latimer was the 56th overall pick in the 2014 draft. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 8:33 pm

Rueben Randle caught 2-of-2 targets for 13 yards in the Eagles' third preseason game.

Advice: Most unfortunately for Roob, he played clearly behind Dorial Green-Beckham, Nelson Agholor, Josh Huff, and Chris Givens. Roob ran exclusively with Chase Daniel on offense and will enter next week squarely on the roster bubble. Rotoworld.com Yesterday, 7:08 pm

  • Hardy leaves with ankle injury
Justin Hardy exited the Falcons' third preseason game with an ankle injury.

Advice: The injury isn't known to be severe. On Thursday night, Hardy worked as the Falcons' first-team slot receiver between Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu in three-wide sets, catching just 1-of-4 targets for 11 yards. Barring an injury to Julio or Sanu, Hardy won't factor into the fantasy football equation this year. Rotoworld.com Thursday, 7:23 pm

  • Brown back at Cardinals practice on Thursday
John Brown (concussion) returned to Cardinals practice Thursday.

Advice: Brown's Wednesday headache looks like it was just a scare after he returned from his concussion on Sunday. It's still obviously a situation to monitor, and a concern heading into Week 1. • Cardinals WR Brown experiencing headaches
John Brown missed Cardinals practice with a headache on Wednesday.

Advice: We usually wait three days to blurb players with seemingly day-to-day injuries, but this is especially concerning after Brown missed three weeks of training camp with a concussion. He was cleared to practice earlier this week. Brown will likely be placed back into the NFL's concussion protocol. We're not quite worried that he'll miss Week 1, but the situation is increasingly troubling. Rotoworld.com Wednesday, 12:31 pm

  • Fisher: Brian Quick has had 'too many drops'
Rams coach Jeff Fisher called out WR Brian Quick for his drops.

Advice: "Your receivers have to catch it, not drop it," Fisher said. "He’s had too many drops, so he’s going to have to focus on that." Quick dropped two passes in the second preseason game and has failed to do anything of note through two games. He also appears to be behind rookie Pharoh Cooper on the depth chart. He does not need to be drafted in any format. Rotoworld.com Aug 22, 6:23 am

  • John Brown (concussion) cleared for practice
John Brown (concussion) has been cleared to resume practicing.

Advice: We got mildly concerned as Brown missed nearly three weeks of training camp with the brain injury. He should now have a shot to play in the Cardinals' regular season dress rehearsal next weekend. 26-year-old Brown is coming off a breakout 65-1,003-7 campaign despite nursing hamstring problems for most of 2015. • Rueben Randle projected to make 53-man roster
Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ Advanced Media projects Rueben Randle to make the Eagles' 53-man roster.

Advice: It comes at the expense of Chris Givens, who was left off Shorr-Parks' latest roster projections. Shorr-Parks also has Josh Huff making the team because of his contributions on special teams. Randle hasn't shown much this offseason but the Eagles don't have many better options. • Brian Quick sluggish in second preseason game
Brian Quick absorbed 2-of-5 targets for 27 yards in Saturday's preseason game.

Advice: His night also included a costly drop. Quick has failed to make an impact in either of his two preseason games (one catch for 13 yards last week versus Dallas) and wasn't even mentioned when coach Jeff Fisher spoke about the team's receiving corps last week. Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin and Pharoh Cooper seem to be locked in as the Rams' top three receivers, leaving Quick to battle Michael Thomas, Nelson Spruce and Paul McRoberts for one of the last few spots. Even if Quick survives final cuts, he won't carry any fantasy relevance. Rotoworld.com Aug 21, 5:28 am

  • 1st-rounder Fuller goes 4/73/1 versus Saints
Will Fuller caught 4-of-8 targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason game.

Advice: Fuller separated in the end zone to catch a dime from Brock Osweiler on his 19-yard score. The No. 21 overall pick now has five preseason grabs for 78 yards, and has blown by offseason puff-piecer Jaelen Strong on the depth chart. Fuller's hands will almost certainly be an issue as a rookie, but his jets have been as advertised, while he's played poised in exhibition action. He's a WR5 who could blow up for a few big games. • Tyrell Williams catches 4 for 47 yards Friday
Tyrell Williams caught 4-of-6 targets for 47 yards in the Chargers' second preseason game.

Advice: Williams was held out of the preseason opener with "leg tightness," but he saw plenty of snaps Friday night. Williams had a nice 14-yard grab on the sideline to convert a third down in the second quarter, and he hauled in three passes during a successful two-minute drill to close out the first half. Texans first-round WR Will Fuller said he's more comfortable in the offense.

Advice: "A lot more comfortable than when I first got here, but that’s how it always is," Fuller said. "Just knowing my role and doing everything the coaches ask." Fuller struggled with the playbook early in training camp. He worked with the starters in Houston's first preseason game and should open the year in two-wide sets. Rotoworld.com Aug 19, 2:34 pm

  • Treadwell fails to catch a ball Thursday
Laquon Treadwell failed to catch any of his four targets in the Vikings' second preseason game against the Seahawks.

Advice: Teddy Bridgewater didn't play, Shaun Hill got the start, and he was followed up by rookie Joel Stave. Treadwell ran exclusively with the Stave group. He was mostly unnoticeable, not catching a pass, and failing to track one sideline ball from Stave. Treadwell looks to be out of the running for Week 1 snaps, and may even be behind Adam Thielen on the depth chart. Charles Johnson, Stefon Diggs, and Jarius Wright should make up the three-wide set in the opener. Rotoworld.com Aug 19, 8:01 am
