  • Tom Brady's four-game suspension nullified
U.S. District Judge Richard Berman nullified Tom Brady's four-game suspension.

Advice: The NFL will likely appeal the decision, but at this point it appears Brady will be under center for the Patriots' opener on September 10. Most reports suggested Brady's team had the stronger case, and the NFL's decision not to pursue a settlement when Brady was reportedly open to one earlier this week is yet another puzzling decision from the front office. Brady should now be considered a top-five fantasy option and a solid DFS play in his tasty Week 1 matchup against the Steelers. Rotoworld.com 59 minutes ago

  • Neurologist will examine Robert Griffin III
A neurologist is expected to examine Robert Griffin III (concussion) on Thursday or Friday.

Advice: ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim speculates Washington could decide to release Griffin if he is cleared. Griffin's $16.155 million fifth-year option is guaranteed for injury only, meaning Griffin has to pass a physical before the Redskins can release him. Given his injury history, even allowing Griffin to practice with the team the next year risks an injury which could leave Washington on the hook for his entire 2016 salary. • Blake Bortles improved mechanics in offseason
ESPN Jaguars reporter Michael DiRocco attributes Blake Bortles’s strong preseason to improved mechanics.

Advice: Bortles had major accuracy and pocket-presence issues as a rookie, throwing 17 INTs and taking a league-high 55 sacks. His improved footwork has led to a 65 percent completion rate and only two sacks in three preseason games. A second-year leap from Bortles would be an upgrade for Allen Robinson and T.J. Yeldon. Across those two starts and parts of three other games, Anderson completed 65-of-97 passes (67 percent) for 701 yards and a 5:0 TD:INT ratio. He's one of the better backups with a rocket arm. Advice: Cassel has had an up-and-down six months in Buffalo, going from struggling badly to having a so-so training camp and preseason. Meanwhile, Tyrod Taylor has lit Buffalo on fire with his legs and earned the starting job. E.J. Manuel has performed in the preseason with a 146.9 passer rating, giving him the edge over Cassel. • RGIII era officially over in Washington D.C.
Robert Griffin III has been benched.

Advice: Like sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives. Beset by never-ending drama and an inability to stay at 100 percent, RGIII has met his predictable end for the league's most dysfunctional franchise. It's possible he won't even be the first man off the bench, with vanilla coach Jay Gruden preferring Colt McCoy's pop-gun skill-set to RGIII's unrefined dual-threat aesthetic. Much of Griffin's issues are his own doing, but he's received zero help from a franchise that's offered bafflingly little support since making him a centerpiece three years ago. Despite the lack of trade talk, La Canfora called Griffin's future with the organization "murky at best." Eli Manning completed 12-of-16 passes for 91 yards and one interception in Saturday’s preseason dress rehearsal against the Jets.

Advice: He was also sacked twice for six yards. Antonio Cromartie anticipated Manning’s last pass of the night and took it all the way back for an easy pick-six. He was looking for James Jones on the play. It wasn’t one of Eli’s better outings, but at least he got on the same page with Odell Beckham (five catches for 31 yards) after missing him five times in last week’s win over the Jaguars. Advice: Pryor has resumed practicing, but his conditioning isn't up to speed. With the Browns' starters unlikely to see much, if any, action in next week's exhibition finale, it means Pryor will end the summer with no meaningful snaps as he makes the transition from quarterback. The Buffalo News' Vic Carucci believes there's been "nothing at camp that indicates" E.J. Manuel is a serious contender for the Bills' starting job.

Advice: This has been the consensus all summer long, making it all the more baffling that coach Rex Ryan has decided Manuel will start this weekend's regular season dress rehearsal over Tyrod Taylor and Matt Cassel. The most sensible theory is that Ryan is trying to throw the Colts off before Week 1, but Ryan has to know presumptive starter Taylor needs all the preseason reps with the 1s he can get. Already sidelined for Cleveland's first two preseason games, Pryor's roster odds could take a critical blow if he isn't ready for the regular season dress rehearsal. • Terrelle Pryor back on the roster bubble?
ESPN Cleveland believes Terrelle Pryor's (hamstring) roster odds could come down to the next 72 hours.

Advice: Reporter Tony Grossi believes Pryor "has" to practice this week and play in Saturday's regular season dress rehearsal to have a realistic shot at making the team. Coach Mike Pettine has basically said the same. Pryor was looking like a lock in early August, but at this point, his odds are probably worse than 50-50. Switching positions, he simply couldn't afford to miss as much camp time as he has. Rotoworld.com Monday, 11:16 am

  • OC: Johnny Manziel 'new guy' this season
Browns OC John DeFilippo said QB Johnny Manziel is a "new man" this season.

Advice: He added the sophomore's understanding of the game has changed drastically. Josh McCown appears locked in as the Browns' Week 1 starter, but he was dreadful in Tampa Bay last season and looked bad in the second preseason game. It remains likely Manziel gets starts this season. Manziel is currently sitting out practice due to soreness in his elbow. Rotoworld.com Aug 24, 7:43 am
