  • 49ers OLB Lynch missed much of spring program
49ers second-year OLB Aaron Lynch missed most of the offseason program with a hamstring injury.

Advice: Lynch also battled a hamstring issue last spring before ultimately coming on and notching six sacks as a sub-package pass rusher. Ahmad Brooks reportedly looked good during the spring, showed up in shape, and is expected to compete with Lynch for the starting job opposite Aldon Smith.

Saints WR Josh Morgan rivaled Ben Watson for the most total catches during spring practices.

Advice: Take that with a grain of salt, as receivers always shine in the padless, non-contact practices. But Morgan has put himself in the mix behind Marques Colston. After catching just 30 total passes the previous two seasons with the Redskins and Bears, veteran Morgan has a chance to carve out a role in New Orleans thanks to his blocking prowess and short-to-intermediate catching ability.

ESPN 1500 Twin Cities suggests the Vikings could have interest in free agent SS Bernard Pollard.

Advice: Pollard hasn’t received any known interest since asking for his release from Tennessee in March. I'm a playmaker, and I believe if I can touch the ball, I can go to the house, especially if I have space." A "slash" player is typically a quarterback who gets touches elsewhere on the field. The Browns have made it clear they signed Pryor as a wideout, and not a signal caller. It's not that far-fetched to suggest Taylor could beat out Manuel and his 58.6 career completion percentage. Rex Ryan appears most enthusiastic about Taylor, the quarterback he "hand picked." "No matter how much I’m getting paid, whether it’s $25 million or $1.5 million. I’ll be ready to go," he said. PFT's Mike Florio's "current prediction" is that contract-year QB Russell Wilson won't be with the Seahawks in 2016.

Advice: Bold. It's only a prediction, but Florio is in the know and has plenty of sources. The two sides do seem to be pretty far apart on Wilson's value. The Seahawks are offering Wilson a deal in the Cam Newton range, while Wilson wants to be the league's highest-paid player. Florio thinks the Seahawks will use the non-exclusive franchise tag on Wilson and another team signs him to an offer sheet the Seahawks are unwilling to match. Pryor, 26, dabbled at wideout at Ohio State and has embraced a full-on position switch in an effort to extend his career. Pryor is huge (6'5/232) with low-4.4 timed speed coming out of college.
