    • Jeremy Hill gets third-straight 100-yard game
Jeremy Hill rushed 23 times for 100 yards in Sunday night's Week 17 loss to the Steelers.

Advice: He added two catches for 10 yards. Hill started and played the majority of snaps, with Gio Bernard getting 10 touches in a change of pace role. He has at least 100 yards in three straight games since taking over for Bernard. Hill wraps up a highly productive rookie season with 222 carries, 1,339 total yards, and nine touchdowns. The Bengals play the Colts in the first round of the playoffs. Rotoworld.com

Giovani Bernard had three rushes for eight yards and seven catches for 56 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 17 loss to the Steelers.

Advice: Bernard had a highlight 17-yard touchdown on a short pass from Andy Dalton in the first quarter. He got 10 touches behind Jeremy Hill, who continued to get the majority of carries. Bernard has been more productive since moving out of the feature back role and is averaging six catches over his last two games. Bernard will finish the season with 168 carries, 1,029 total yards, and six touchdowns. Rotoworld.com

    • Ronnie Hillman has big role in return
Ronnie Hillman (foot) rushed 15 times for 56 yards and caught one pass for two yards in Sunday's Week 17 win over the Raiders.

Advice: Hillman surprising had a massive role in his first game since Week 10 -- and it wasn't just in garbage time. He got two of the game's first three carries, got key goal-line touches and ended up out-carrying C.J. Anderson 15-13. CJA was far more effective though, continuing to play at the Pro Bowl level and finding the end zone three times on the ground. Perhaps the Broncos were just trying to rest Anderson a bit, although this could be trending toward a timeshare as the No. 2 seed heads into their bye. Rotoworld.com

Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for 44 yards on nine carries in the Falcons' Week 17 loss to the Panthers, adding three catches for 19 yards.

Advice: Rodgers got the start in place of an injured Steven Jackson (quad) and split touches with Devonta Freeman. The diminutive Rodgers wraps up his fourth season with 58 carries for 217 yards (3.74 YPC) and one touchdown on the ground to go with a 31-241-1 receiving line. A free agent in March, Rodgers is unlikely to find much, if any, guaranteed money. He's an unproductive COP back but can at least catch the ball and pick up the blitz. Rotoworld.com

With Pierre Thomas (ribs) inactive, Travaris Cadet caught 2-of-4 targets for nine yards in the Saints' Week 17 win over the Bucs.

Advice: Cadet was the Saints' primary pass-catching back, but was actually out-gained 22-9 by Khiry Robinson through the air. With Thomas signed affordably for 2015, Cadet should be returning as a reserve, even if Mark Ingram is allowed to walk in free agency. Rotoworld.com

Advice: He added one catch for 13 yards. Turbin got some early work with Marshawn Lynch appearing to get loose on the sideline. He's now rushed 10 times in back-to-back weeks. Lynch will get two weeks of much-needed rest with the Seahawks earning a first-round bye for the playoffs. Turbin will be his COP back. Rotoworld.com

Joique Bell rushed 13 times for 60 yards in the Lions' Week 17 loss to the Packers.

Advice: Bell wasn't targeted in the passing game. Bell closes the book on the regular season with 1,182 yards from scrimmage, 860 of which came on the ground. He's averaged at least 4.0 yards per carry in seven of his past eight games despite a 3.85 number on the year. He has a decent Wild Card matchup in the Cowboys' bendable run defense. Rotoworld.com

Bobby Rainey was held without a touch in the Bucs' Week 17 loss to the Saints.

Advice: Rainey heads into the offseason with zero touches over Tampa's final three games. Rainey showed some juice in between Doug Martin and Charles Sims injuries this season, averaging 4.31 yards per carry while catching 33 passes, but wasn't a favorite of the coaching staff. Now 27, Rainey will be a restricted free agent in the offseason. It's not a guarantee he's tendered a contract by the Bucs. Rotoworld.com

    • Doug Martin rushes for 108 yards vs. Saints
Doug Martin rushed 19 times for 108 yards in the Bucs' Week 17 loss to the Saints.

Advice: Martin wasn't targeted in the passing game. Astoundingly, the 100-yard game was Martin's first of the year. That includes yards from scrimmage. Martin showed some juice in the open field, but his game-best, 45-yard run in the second quarter likely would have gone for a 52-yard touchdown two years ago. Banged up for long stretches this season, Martin ends up with a 3.68 YPC. He's the owner of a 3.63 mark on 261 carries since his electrifying rookie year. Martin will be the favorite for Tampa's between-the-tackles duties in 2015, but it's not a given. He's no longer a serious factor in the passing game. Rotoworld.com

Chris Polk rushed seven times for 38 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 17 win over the Giants.

Advice: Polk once again stole goal-line work from LeSean McCoy, punching in a 1-yard score in the fourth quarter. The Eagles didn't hide the fact that the talented, 222-pounder is now their preferred option in short-yardage situations. So even though Polk's third NFL season finishes with just 46 carries for 172 yards and three touchdowns, his fantasy value is greater than that looking ahead. Polk, a restricted free agent, will get goal-line scores and is an excellent handcuff to McCoy in 2015. Rotoworld.com

Bernard Pierce rushed six times for eight yards Week 17 against the Browns.

Advice: Pierce was stuffed twice at the goal line early in the game, and could get nothing going despite playing the worst run defense in the league. Expected to carry the load with Ray Rice suspended, Pierce was eventually beat out by journeyman back Justin Forsett and even lost work to the likes of Lorenzo Taliaferro and Fitzgerald Toussaint. Pierce's team-friendly contract will keep him will keep him on Baltimore's roster through the offseason, but the slow-footed back may need a solid summer to stick through final cuts. Rotoworld.com

Advice: Dixon was clearly second fiddle to Fred Jackson against New England, but he was given the team's only goal-line chance early in the second quarter. Dixon converted for his second touchdown of the season. A plodding pile mover, Dixon finishes 2014 with 432 yards on 105 carries (4.1 YPC). With Fred Jackson and C.J. Alfred Morris rushed 12 times for 43 yards in Washington's week 17 loss to the Cowboys.

Advice: He added two receptions for 19 yards. With the Redskins getting routed, Morris got the rock just six times after halftime, and zero times in the fourth quarter. Morris ends his first frustrating year in coach Jay Gruden's offense averaging just 4.05 yards per carry after posting a 4.72 mark between 2012-13. Morris did manage to surpass 1,000 yards rushing for the time in as many NFL seasons, and post a career-best 17 receptions. Still only 26, Morris should be back as the Redskins' clear No. 1 back in 2015. His upside just isn't what it was under coach Mike Shanahan. Rotoworld.com

    • Lamar Miller caps off breakout season
Lamar Miller rushed 19 times for 178 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' Week 17 loss to the Jets.

Advice: Miller temporarily broke this one open with a highlight-reel 97-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. The run was the longest in Dolphins history, and one of the longest of all time. After disappointing fantasy owners across the board in 2013, Miller bounced back with a fury in a classic post-hype breakout year. He rang up 1,099 yards on 216 carries, averaging 5.09 YPC with 38 receptions and scoring nine all-purpose touchdowns. The Dolphins' coaching staff doesn't seem to view Miller as a true workhorse back, consistently holding him under 20 carries, but he proved an outstanding match for first-year OC Bill Lazor's space-creating run scheme. Miller should return in 2015 as Miami's clear feature back. He turns 24 in April and is owed a cheap base salary entering his contract year. We suspect Miller will be a third-round pick in 2015 re-draft leagues. He's a borderline RB1 in Dynasty. Rotoworld.com

Chris Ivory rushed 13 times for 29 yards and caught an eight-yard touchdown pass in the Jets' Week 17 win over the Dolphins.

Advice: The Dolphins' defense didn't even cover Ivory on his eight-yard touchdown catch in the first half. Pass catching really isn't a part of Ivory's game, but he again proved to be an above-average ball carrier for the Jets in 2014, turning 198 rushing attempts into 821 yards (4.15 YPC) and scoring seven all-purpose TDs. Turning 27 in March, Ivory will return to the Jets in 2015 at his cheap base salary of $2 million. Ivory's receiving limitations and past proneness to injury, however, will likely always render him a committee back. Rotoworld.com

Mark Ingram rushed 14 times for 57 yards and a touchdown in the Saints' Week 17 win over the Bucs, adding two catches for an additional four yards.

Advice: Ingram finishes his breakout 2014 just 36 yards rushing shy of 1,000 despite missing three games with a broken hand. Ingram was a bright spot for an otherwise massively-disappointing team, averaging 4.26 yards per carry while racking up nine touchdowns. Still only 25, Ingram is headed for free agency. The Saints would undoubtedly love to keep him, but face a daunting cap crunch. It's quite possible Ingram has played his final down in New Orleans. Rotoworld.com

Matt Asiata rushed for 91 yards on 19 carries and caught two balls for 17 yards in the Vikings' Week 17 win over the Bears.

Advice: A fullbackish grinder, Asiata wound up spending most of the 2014 season as Minnesota's feature back due to Adrian Peterson's suspension and Jerick McKinnon's injury. Asiata finished with 164 carries for 570 yards (3.48 YPC) and ten all-purpose touchdowns, to go with 44 receptions. Asiata can pass protect and gets what's blocked, and for those reasons he may have a long NFL career. But he isn't a starting-caliber running back. The 27-year-old will be a restricted free agent in March. We suspect the Vikings will tender Asiata at the lowest possible level, or not tender him at all. Rotoworld.com

Advice: He ends the year with 326 yards and two touchdowns on 101 carries (3.2 YPC), adding 20 catches for 186 scoreless yards. Signed to a three-year, $10.5 million contract last March, Gerhart entered the year as the starter. But thanks to ineffectiveness due to lower-body injuries, Gerhart was passed on the depth chart by Denard Robinson. Gerhart fell back into a sparingly-used third-down role behind Robinson before regaining the starting job after Robinson injured his foot prior to Week 15. Gerhart proved he’s nothing more than a complementary piece of a backfield. With a non-guaranteed $3 million salary in 2015, Gerhart is no lock to be back in Jacksonville. Rotoworld.com

It's fitting for an inept player that rushed 159 times for 519 yards (3.26 YPC) with three touchdowns. Advice: As usual, Herron was far more effective than Trent Richardson. It's telling that when the Colts went to their backups in the second half, T-Rich split time with Zurlon Tipton while Herron watched from the sideline. Expect the Colts to ride Herron for a bigger piece of the pie in the Wild Card game next week. Boom finishes his third NFL regular season with 78 carries for 351 yards (4.50 YPC) with one touchdown and 21 catches for 173 yards. Giovani Bernard rushed for 36 yards on eight carries in the Bengals' Week 16 win over the Broncos, adding five catches for 45 yards and one touchdown.

Advice: The past two weeks, Bernard has been doing more with less. And that's how it was in 2013. The Bengals realized Bernard isn't a workhorse back, and he's taken a side seat next to 1A Jeremy Hill. Hill out-touched Bernard 22-13, but both did work with their looks. Bernard looked like his rookie self on his 22-yard touchdown, catching the ball at the line of scrimmage and shedding a tackle before making another defender miss on his way to the end zone. The past two weeks, he's managed 184 total yards on 31 touches. Bernard and Hill are going to have to carry the Bengals in the playoffs. They'll wrap up Week 17 against the Steelers. Rotoworld.com

    • Jeremy Hill, defense lead Bengals past Broncos
Jeremy Hill rushed for 147 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries in the Bengals' 37-28, Week 16 win over the Broncos on Monday night.

Advice: Hill was the star of the show on offense, while the Cincinnati defense carried the Bengals to victory by intercepting Peyton Manning four times. Hill got another start in the Bengals' backfield and took his third carry to the house for an 85-yard touchdown. It was one of the more impressive runs of the season. Hill showed amazing stop-start ability on the scamper, slowing down for blocks and immediately turning on the jets. Another great run was a simple two-yard pickup on 4th-and-1 where he was initially stopped behind the line but powered through to move the sticks. The Bengals could make a run if they lean on Hill and the defense plays like it did on Monday. They'll wrap up the regular season against Pittsburgh. Rotoworld.com

Ronnie Hillman (foot) is inactive for Week 16 against the Bengals.

Robert Turbin rushed 10 times for 38 yards in Week 16 against the Cardinals.

Advice: Turbin started and got the majority of work in the first quarter with Marshawn Lynch sidelined. He finished with 10 touches, with Christine Michael also mixing in. Turbin will be just a change of pace behind Lynch in Week 17. Rotoworld.com

    • Trent Richardson gains nine total yards
Trent Richardson rushed two times for one yard and caught two passes for eight yards Week 16 against the Cowboys.

Advice: Richardson is usually terrible, but his performance Week 16 had more to do with the Colts' struggling offensive line. The Cowboys dominated the line of scrimmage, limiting Indianapolis to 229 total yards. Richardson will finish the season against the Titans Week 17. Rotoworld.com

    • Dan Herron shut down by Cowboys Week 16
Dan Herron rushed seven times for three yards and caught 3 passes for 37 yards Week 16 against the Cowboys.

Advice: The entire Colts offense was in neutral in this one, and Herron was no exception. The interior of Indianapolis' offense line was dominated all game, giving the backs almost no room to run. Herron did have a long reception called back by penalty, and is still the Colts' best option at running back. He will look to finish the regular season strong against the Titans' leaky run defense next week. Rotoworld.com

Lance Dunbar rushed twice for four yards and caught two passes for 10 yards Week 16 against the Colts.

Brandon Bolden rushed five times for 32 yards in the Patriots' Week 16 win over the Jets.

Advice: With LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) sidelined, the Pats went with a three-man committee of Bolden, Jonas Gray and Shane Vereen. Bolden rotated "big back" duties with Gray, out-gaining him 32-5, but it was Gray who got the Pats' lone rushing score. Expect similar usage in Week 17 if Blount sits against the Bills. Rotoworld.com

Chris Ivory rushed 11 times for 53 yards in the Jets' Week 16 loss to the Patriots.

Advice: He wasn't targeted in the passing game. Ivory found himself in an even timeshare with Chris Johnson, who also touched the ball 11 times. Ivory enters Week 17 needing 95 yards from scrimmage to reach 1,000 on the season. It would be the first 1K campaign of the fifth-year pro's career. Rotoworld.com

    • Lamar Miller goes off: 150 total yards & TD
Lamar Miller rushed 19 times for 92 yards and a touchdown and caught five balls for 58 yards in the Dolphins' Week 16 win over the Vikings.

Advice: Miller was very active in the receiving game early, amassing four receptions for 52 yards in the first half alone. He did get tripped up from behind on a 12-yard second-quarter screen pass that nearly went for a touchdown. Miller was Miami's entire offense in the first half, amassing 104 total yards in the initial two quarters. Miller put the bow on his blowup game with a one-yard touchdown run early in the fourth. Miller has shown the ability to be a quality feature back this season, following a disappointing 2013. The Dolphins will finish their season against the Jets in Week 17. Rotoworld.com

Doug Martin had 10 carries for 17 yards in Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Packers.

Advice: Martin continued to get the majority of early down work, with Charles Sims playing in pass situations. He wasn't able to build off last week's game against the Panthers. The Bucs abandoned the run in the second half, and were held to just 163 yards of total offense. Martin has a matchup against the Saints in Week 17. Rotoworld.com

Mark Ingram rushed 13 times for 38 yards and a touchdown Week 16 against the Falcons.

Advice: Ingram was gifted a touchdown after Jalen Saunders returned the opening kickoff 99 yards to the Falcons' one-yard line. He was completely shut down the rest of the game as Atlanta completely dominated the line of scrimmage. Pierre Thomas (foot) left this game early, so Ingram could have an expanded role Week 17 against the Bucs. Rotoworld.com

    • Asiata scores 2 TDs as Vikings lose
Matt Asiata rushed 16 times for 58 yards and two touchdowns and caught three balls for 19 yards in the Vikings' Week 16 loss to the Dolphins.

Advice: Asiata gave Minnesota a quick first-quarter lead on a one-yard touchdown run. Miami has struggled mightily in run defense for the past month-plus and Minnesota looked to take advantage, utilizing FB Jerome Felton ahead of Asiata in I and offset-I formations. Asiata also converted a two-point conversion late in the fourth quarter, and the game-winning touchdown just plays later following a Jarvis Landry lost fumble deep in Dolphins territory. Asiata paid Week 16 fantasy dividends, but continues to be an entirely TD-dependent fantasy commodity. The Vikings will close out their season against the Bears in Week 17. Rotoworld.com

    • Shane Vereen turns in another dud vs. Jets
Shane Vereen rushed six times for 38 yards in the Patriots' Week 16 win over the Jets, adding a 12-yard reception.

Advice: Vereen entered the game to high expectations in the absence of LeGarrette Blount (shoulder), but as has become his custom, couldn't deliver. Vereen found himself in a three-man committee with Jonas Gray and Brandon Bolden, with six of his touches coming on one third-quarter series. In Vereen's defense, he should have gotten the ball much more. Vereen looked spry in the open field, and went for five or more yards on 5-of-7 touches. Vereen will do battle with the Bills' slumping run defense in Week 17. Rotoworld.com

    • Jacquizz Rodgers gets an extended look
Jacquizz Rodgers rushed 11 times for 29 yards Week 16 against the Saints.

Advice: Rodgers got an extended run out with Steven Jackson sidelined by a quad injury late in the first half. Rodgers ran hard as he always does, but there is simply not enough talent in his legs to be a feature back. Devonta Freeman will be the Falcons' best bet to move the ball if Jackson is forced to miss Week 17 against Carolina, but Rodgers will likely lead the backfield in touches. Rotoworld.com

Joique Bell rushed 13 times for 74 yards with one touchdown and caught two passes for 13 yards in Sunday's 20-14 Week 16 win at Chicago.

Advice: Bell was benched for the entire first quarter due to some kind of team rules violation. But it was business as usual after he got his first snap with 12:36 left in the second quarter. Bell was the feature back, hogging clock-killing and red-zone work even though Reggie Bush was looking extremely spry. The highlight was a madden-style 17-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter that gave the Lions a lead they would hold. Earlier, Matthew Stafford barely missed Bell on a wheel route that would have gone for a touchdown. The Lions close the regular season at Green Bay next week, a game that will decide the NFC North. Saints declared RB Travaris Cadet inactive for Week 16 against the Falcons.

Advice: Cadet does not have much of an offensive role with Pierre Thomas back healthy, but it is still a surprise he is inactive. Thomas is a nice FLEX play in PPR formats. Saints also declared WR Seantavius Jones, CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste, S Jamarca Sanford, ILB Moises Fokou, NT Lawrence Virgil and OT Terron Armstead inactive for Week 16. Rotoworld.com

Shane Vereen (ankle) is officially active for Week 16 against the Jets.

Advice: As previously reported, neither Julian Edelman (concussion) nor LeGarrette Blount made the trip to New York. With Edelman sidelined, both Vereen and Danny Amendola will have bigger roles as pass catchers. The Boston Globe went as far as to suggest that Vereen will "pick up (Edelman's) slack." Also inactive for the Patriots are RB James White, CB Alfonzo Dennard, OG Dan Connolly, OT Jordan Devey and CB Kyle Arrington. Rotoworld.com

    • Ronnie Hillman unlikely to play on MNF?
The Denver Post suggests the artificial turf at Cincinnati's Paul Brown Stadium makes it less likely Ronnie Hillman (questionable, foot) plays this week.

Advice: Hillman is "close" to returning, but the Broncos won't rush him back after doing so with Montee Ball (groin) and ultimately losing him for the season. "I'm better than I was," Hillman said. "Getting better. Progressing. I'm just waiting for them to say, 'You're up this week.' Whenever that happens, it happens. Playoffs, next week, I don't know." Alfred Morris rushed 21 times for 83 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's Week 16 win over the Eagles.

Advice: Morris broke multiple tackles on his 28-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. It could have been an even bigger game, but he had two scores vultured by FB Darrel Young at the one-yard line. Morris has now went over 1,000 yards in three straight seasons. • Lamar Miller's YPC freefalls after 10 carries
Lamar Miller's yards per carry average drops dramatically after his tenth carry of a game.

Advice: According to the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson, Miller has averaged 5.4 yards per carry on his first 10 carries of a game this season, but is averaging only 2.5 yards per carry from his 11th carry on. The stunning drop-off in effectiveness could help explain why Miller is averaging 12.7 carries a game this season despite being clearly the best runner on Miami's roster. Miller's upside will always be capped by his limited touches, but he is still a solid RB2 in a good matchup against the Vikings this week. Rotoworld.com

Lions OC Joe Lombardi conceded Joique Bell is the team's No. 1 running back, ahead of Reggie Bush.

Advice: It would be difficult to claim anything else. Bell has 33 carries to Bush's 11 over the last two weeks and has out-touched Bush 42-16 over that span. Bell has at least 10 carries in 12-of-13 games this season. Bush has managed that feat just twice. Bell is the clear lead back and is a good bet for 20 touches against a leaky Bears' defense. He is a solid RB2 in championship week. Rotoworld.com
