    • Holding out from minicamp
Lamb is holding out from June minicamp in pursuit of a new contract, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Lamb didn't attend voluntary OTAs and now is missing the first mandatory activities of the offseason. David Helman of FOX Sports reports that the Cowboys can fine Lamb around $100,000 in the likely event he misses all three days of June minicamp, though the wideout presumably won't care much if it helps him secure a new contract. He's likely looking for a deal that's similar or slightly south of the four-year, $140 million extension that Vikings WR Justin Jefferson is signing this week. If nothing gets done before training camp, Lamb may well continue his holdout into August. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 7:40 am

    • Lamb and Cowboys to ‘speed up’ negotiations
CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson reports the Cowboys and CeeDee Lamb “are expected to ‘speed up’” contract negotiations after Justin Jefferson received a four-year, $140 million extension from the Vikings.

Advice: Lamb hasn’t been present at voluntary OTAs as he eyes a contract extension before the start of the season. Last year’s receptions leader (135) is set to earn $17.991 million in the final year of his rookie deal, but with Jefferson’s $140 million extension now setting the market for other receivers, Lamb and the Cowboys now have a number to work within as they hope to hammer out a deal. The Cowboys are low on cap space and have to figure out new deals with Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons in the near future. A new deal with Lamb gets one big extension out of the way and allows Dallas to move on to other deals they need to work on. Rotoworld Monday, 8:30 am

    • Returns to limited practice
Jacobs (hamstring) returned to practice on a limited basis Wednesday, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.

Advice: Jacobs took part in individual drills but then mostly sat out the team period. He did, however, take at least one carry in full-team drills and appears to have made it through the day without any setbacks. The hamstring injury shouldn't have much affect on Jacobs as he prepares to lead a Green Bay backfield that also has AJ Dillon and rookie third-round pick MarShawn Lloyd on hand. • LaFleur hopeful Jacobs goes full speed next week
Packers coach Matt LaFleur said he is hopeful Josh Jacobs (hamstring) is able to practice when the team goes full speed next week.

Advice: Jacobs missed the first week of OTAs with a hamstring issue but was back for individual drills this week. He was seen cutting and running during individual work and looked perfectly healthy. His light workload to start OTAs is almost certainly a precaution and nothing more. Assuming Jacobs is a full go in practice next week, the hamstring issue will be a non-story by training camp. Projected to easily lead an ascending Green Bay offense in carries, Jacobs is rightfully being drafted as a low-end RB1 to start the summer. Rotoworld Wednesday, 11:53 am

    • Not at OTAs, as expected
Higgins and teammate Ja'Marr Chase are not present at voluntary OTAs on Tuesday, Ben Baby of ESPN reports.

Advice: Higgins still hasn't signed the franchise tag Cincinnati placed on him back in February, and with Chase also eligible for an extension, both of the Bengals' top wideouts appear to be vying for new deals. Until Higgins signs the franchise tag, he won't be eligible to report for organized team activities. He formally requested a trade after having the franchise tag placed on him but has since indicated he anticipates suiting up for the Bengals for the 2024 season, and coach Zac Taylor plainly stated that he's not worried about the absence of either Higgins or Chase at this time.
