It obviously helped that the Eagles trailed for just about the entire game, but featuring Ertz is not rocket science. It's a reminder that he's still rounding into form just like last season, although it's worth noting that a knee reconstruction is far different than the elbow issue he battled in 2013. • Gronkowski plays 44 percent of Week 1 snaps
Rob Gronkowski played 38-of-86 (44 percent) of the offensive snaps in the Patriots' Week 1 loss to the Dolphins.

Advice: Gronkowski still managed to lead the team with 11 targets in the passing game, securing four of them for 40 yards and a score. He didn't play much on early downs, instead coming onto the field for all third downs and red-zone situations. Gronk also didn't look to be 100 percent, which is to be expected. Even if he remains "limited" in games, Gronkowski is a must-start TD scorer. Rotoworld.com

  • Coby Fleener struggles on Sunday night
Coby Fleener had three catches for 21 yards in Sunday night's loss to Denver.

Advice: Fleener was targeted more than Dwayne Allen, but saw fewer snaps. He couldn't come down with his lone red-zone target and dropped a pass that led to an interception in the fourth quarter. With Allen healthy, Fleener can continue to be left on the waiver-wire in fantasy leagues. Rotoworld.com

  • Dwayne Allen has strong 2014 debut
Dwayne Allen caught 4-of-5 targets for 64 yards and a touchdown in the Colts' Week 1 loss to the Broncos.

Advice: Allen started over Coby Fleener, but both got heavy snaps in two-tight end formations. Fleener finished with more targets (8), but was less effective and struggled with drops. Allen took an out route 41 yards down the sideline for his touchdown. He's on the TE2 radar and is worth a look on waivers. Allen is the Colts' top red-zone threat and has potential to be the No. 3 option in the pass game, ahead of Hakeem Nicks. Rotoworld.com

  • Vernon Davis drops two TDs on Cowboys
Vernon Davis caught 4-of-6 targets for 44 yards and two touchdowns in San Francisco's Week 1 rout of the Cowboys.

Advice: One of the league's premier red-zone threats, Davis notched scores of 29 and two yards in the first quarter. Davis can be a disappointing fantasy play when he doesn't find the zone, but he does so with such regularity that he's an every-week TE1. Rotoworld.com

  • Seferian-Jenkins goes 1-26 in NFL debut
Bucs rookie TE Austin Seferian-Jenkins secured his lone target for 26 yards in Sunday's Week 1 loss to the Panthers.

Advice: "ASJ" appeared headed for a potentially big game when he ripped off the 26-yarder in the first quarter -- shedding several tackles -- but he wasn't targeted again. The Bucs need to get that fixed, as plodder Brandon Myers was targeted eight times. Seferian-Jenkins has a lot more playmaking ability. Rotoworld.com

  • TE Jordan Reed headed for MRI on hamstring
Jordan Reed will have an MRI on his hamstring.

Advice: Reed tried to hurdle a defender early in Sunday's Week 1 loss at Houston and pulled a muscle. Afterward, coach Jay Gruden called the injury a legit concern. It's another injury for Reed, who has battled all kinds of ailments dating back to his days at Florida. Owners should begin making other plans for Week 2. Rotoworld.com

  • Marcedes Lewis gets six catches in opener
Marcedes Lewis caught six passes for 35 yards in Sunday's Week 1 loss at Philadelphia.

Advice: Lewis was the preferred target on low-upside bootlegs, finishing with nine passes coming his way. We'd be surprised if he ends up with that many targets again all year. An excellent blocker but plodding runner, Lewis is barely on the TE2 radar. Rotoworld.com

  • Brent Celek gets three catches in win
Brent Celek caught three passes for 15 yards in Sunday's Week 1 win over the Jaguars.

Advice: Celek was on the field for every "12" set and the majority of "11" formations. But Zach Ertz did sprinkle in for some single-TE snaps, and one of them resulted in a 25-yard score. Celek, a blocking complement to Ertz, is well off the fantasy radar. Rotoworld.com

  • Jordan Cameron aggravates shoulder injury
Jordan Cameron's shoulder injury is an aggravation of the sprained AC joint he suffered in training camp.

Advice: Cameron went down in the third quarter of Sunday's loss. Cameron "doesn't know" how serious the injury might be. He missed roughly 10 days of camp when the issue first popped up in early August. It's an ominous development for an offense that has precious few receiving threats as it awaits word on Josh Gordon's (suspension) status. For now, Cameron should be considered day to day. He's a clear top-five fantasy tight end whenever he takes the field. Rotoworld.com

  • Rob Gronkowski scores touchdown in return
Making his first appearance since tearing his ACL last December, Rob Gronkowski caught 4-of-11 targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' Week 1 loss to the Dolphins.

Advice: Gronk's six-yard touchdown in the second quarter was the Pats' only passing score of the afternoon. He was indeed on a snap count, but checked in for nearly all third downs and red-zone situations, as evidenced by his 11 targets. That's the good news. The bad news is, Gronk appeared much stiffer than we're used to seeing, lumbering more than loping down the field. It's to be expected for a player returning from a severe knee injury, but it's going to take Gronk much longer to get all the way back to 100 percent. Despite all that, he's a clear top-three tight end, and the Pats' No. 1 red-zone threat. Rotoworld.com

  • Zach Ertz puts 77 yards, TD on the Jaguars
Zach Ertz caught three passes for 77 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 1 win over the Jaguars.

Advice: The breakout is on. Ertz only saw five targets in a predictably "spread the wealth" passing attack, but he dominated the seam while lining up both as an in-line tight end and in the slot. Most importantly, he got some reps in "11" personnel while Brent Celek stood on the sideline -- and scored his touchdown out of that formation. A red-zone dominator with gobs of upside, Ertz will be a fine TE1 at Indy next week. Rotoworld.com

  • Jordan Reed hurts hamstring on hurdle play
Jordan Reed (hamstring) left Sunday's Week 1 game against the Texans in the first half and is done for the day.

Advice: Reed went high to hurdle a defender on a 4-yard reception, but got crunched and his legs bent the wrong way. He quickly grabbed for his hamstring and slowly made his way to the trainer's table. The Redskins have Logan Paulsen as their No. 2 TE behind the oft-injured Reed. Rotoworld.com

  • Rob Gronkowski officially active for Week 1
Rob Gronkowski (knee) is officially active for Week 1 against the Dolphins.

Advice: Gronk is going to be on a snap count, but should see more than enough time in the red zone to make it worthwhile for fantasy owners. A clear top-three option this week, Gronk should be in your lineup if he's on your team. Period. Rotoworld.com

  • Gronk likely to play on limited basis
A league source confirms to PFT that Rob Gronkowski (knee) is expected to play on a limited basis Sunday.

Advice: As we've known since Monday, Gronk's snaps are going to be limited. But owners should note that in his first game off an elbow injury last year, he racked up an 8-114-0 line on 17 targets while playing on just 35-of-68 snaps. Gronkowski, who was not hosting a party in Miami on Saturday night despite internet rumors, needs to be in fantasy lineups despite the volume risks. Rotoworld.com
