    • Ronnie Hillman practices in full
Ronnie Hillman (foot) practiced in full Wednesday for the first time since his Week 10 injury.

Advice: Hillman practiced on a limited basis last week, but was ruled inactive on Monday night against the Bengals. The Broncos often make their injured players practice for two weeks before activating them. So we'd consider Hillman on track to play against the Raiders in Week 17, serving as one of C.J. Anderson's backups. It's hard to see Hillman stealing anything more than 3-5 touches from Anderson, who has played at an extremely high level in his six starts. Rotoworld.com

Rashad Jennings (ankle) resumed practicing Wednesday.

Advice: Jennings isn't going to just pack it in even though he's repeatedly aggravated his ankle sprain in meaningless games down the stretch. If he can play against Philly Sunday, he'll likely share the work with Andre Williams. Rotoworld.com

    • Henry Josey signs with Vikings
Vikings signed RB Henry Josey off the Jaguars practice squad.

Advice: It's a nice speculative pickup for a Vikings team that just gave up on Ben Tate. Josey opened eyes in the preseason for the Eagles, rushing 34 times for 225 yards (6.58 YPC) and adding 3-39-1 through the air. The UDFA scatback out Missouri of ran a 4.43 at the Combine. Rotoworld.com

    • Falcons call up Jerome Smith from p-squad
Falcons signed RB Jerome Smith off their practice squad.

Advice: It's a sign that Steven Jackson's quad is healing slower than the Falcons anticipated. That shouldn't come as a huge surprise given S-Jax's age and history with soft tissue injuries. We'll know more on the look of the Falcons' backfield by the end of the week, but Devonta Freeman is a good bet to be seriously involved. Rotoworld.com

    • Vikings give up on Ben Tate after five games
      Vikings waived RB Ben Tate.

Advice: Tate made it all of five games in Minnesota, touching the ball in only three of them. Tate closes the book on his Vikings career with 13 carries for 38 scoreless yards (2.92 YPC). For the season, Tate's YPC sits at a dreadful 3.11. Although Tate is only 26, he's looked used up. Tate has a long history of minor injuries. According to ESPN's Field Yates, both the Colts and Cardinals tried to claim Tate in November. It's possible they'll try to do so again ahead of the playoffs, but we wouldn't be surprised if Tate passes through the wire unclaimed. Rotoworld.com

Bernard Pierce played behind Fitzgerald Toussaint in Sunday's Week 16 loss at Houston.

Advice: Pierce has really fallen from grace this season. Expected to shine as the lead back for Gary Kubiak after Ray Rice's dismissal, Pierce instead lost work to the likes of Lorenzo Taliaferro and Toussaint. It's notable with Justin Forsett's ankle gimpy once again. Rotoworld.com

    • Marcus Lattimore re-enrolls at South Carolina
Former 49ers draft pick Marcus Lattimore has re-enrolled at the University of South Carolina with a projected graduation date of January 2016.

Advice: He'll also take on an "ambassador" role with the university and its football program. Lattimore is still South Carolina's all-time leader in touchdowns. He tried to spend about a season and a half in the NFL recuperating from two devastating knee injuries, but couldn't get his body in optimal condition to play in the pros, understandably. Lattimore turned 23 this past October. Rotoworld.com

Kerwynn Williams was held to two carries for four yards in Sunday night's loss to Seattle.

Advice: Williams barely saw the field behind Stepfan Taylor. He surprisingly wasn't part of the gameplan after leading the backfield in snaps last week. Taylor averaged just 1.7 YPC, so Williams could be more involved in Week 17 against the 49ers. Rotoworld.com

Brandon Bolden rushed five times for 32 yards in the Patriots' Week 16 win over the Jets.

Advice: With LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) sidelined, the Pats went with a three-man committee of Bolden, Jonas Gray and Shane Vereen. Bolden rotated "big back" duties with Gray, out-gaining him 32-5, but it was Gray who got the Pats' lone rushing score. Expect similar usage in Week 17 if Blount sits against the Bills. Rotoworld.com

Alfred Blue rushed for six yards on eight carries in the Texans' Week 16 win over the Ravens.

Advice: The Ravens field the league's top run defense. Couple that with Blue's mediocre YPC average in recent weeks, and the rookie was unable to do anything with his change-of-pace carries behind Arian Foster. Rotoworld.com

Advice: He added one catch for five yards. Even with Pierre Thomas sidelined by a foot injury early in the game, Robinson could not get much run in the Saints' struggling offense. He is unlikely to make much noise in the Saints' season finale against the Bucs next week. Rotoworld.com

Ben Tate didn't touch the football in the Vikings' Week 16 loss to the Dolphins.

Jacquizz Rodgers rushed 11 times for 29 yards Week 16 against the Saints.

Advice: Rodgers got an extended run out with Steven Jackson sidelined by a quad injury late in the first half. Rodgers ran hard as he always does, but there is simply not enough talent in his legs to be a feature back. Devonta Freeman will be the Falcons' best bet to move the ball if Jackson is forced to miss Week 17 against Carolina, but Rodgers will likely lead the backfield in touches. Rotoworld.com

    • Ronnie Hillman unlikely to play on MNF?
The Denver Post suggests the artificial turf at Cincinnati's Paul Brown Stadium makes it less likely Ronnie Hillman (questionable, foot) plays this week.

Advice: Hillman is "close" to returning, but the Broncos won't rush him back after doing so with Montee Ball (groin) and ultimately losing him for the season. "I'm better than I was," Hillman said. "Getting better. Progressing. I'm just waiting for them to say, 'You're up this week.' Whenever that happens, it happens. Playoffs, next week, I don't know." The Broncos hope to have Ronnie Hillman (foot) back "if not this week at Cincinnati then in the season finale."

Advice: The Broncos could put Hillman to use as a complement to C.J. Anderson, who's averaged an unruly 27.25 carries per game over the past month. Shifty and quick, Hillman would make more sense as a true change-of-pace than Juwan Thompson, who is a big back like Anderson.
